Pictorial Meadows generously provided my son's school with annual and then, once we knew what we wanted, perennial meadow seed. The glorious results have provided joy to pupils, parents and teachers. Couldn't recommend more highly. More...

A socially and environmentally conscious company, doing good work to advise about, create and manage amenity plantings for the 21st century. It's a nice place to walk and see colourful swathes of naturalistic flower beds, views across Sheffield and some local history in the form of the information boards adjacent to a Tudor manor house that is also part of this site. Pictoral Meadows grounds also has a kids play area, cafe and discovery centre but as I haven't tried any of them I can't comment on their quality. The manor house hosts weddings. A company called Green Estates that is associated with Pictoral Meadows is also located in the same site. It sells locally collected green waste that they have turned into compost. It is cheap at £1 per bag and can be used as a, sustainable, garden soil conditioner. Nearby is Manor Fields Park, former industrial site (coking plant) now converted to an informal local park and home for wildlife. Green Estates also manage the park. If you want to extend your walk/visit, this parkland area is supplemented by City Road Cemetry in which grows mature trees and an interesting derelict church. More...
