Excellent service! I went to Physiomotions to seek Physiotherapy for pain in my shoulder. I was treated by a pleasant gentleman called Angus whom very quickly established I'd been suffering with impingement syndrome. He gave me ultrasound, massage and some exercise which helped to improve my posture. After 4 sessions over the space of 6 weeks the pain cleared up. 6 months down the line, I'm still fine. Highly recommended company! More...

Very modern clinic, brilliant customer service and fantastic flexibility with appointments. I visited for an injured scapula after learning that after six weeks of an injury, that injury becomes chronic, so I decided to go private rather than wait for an NHS appointment. Angus, the physiotherapist was polite, professional and welcoming. More...

Physiotherapy is used for the diagnosis and treatment of all musculoskeletal conditions. Initially a detailed history of your problem is taken and a physical assessment carried out. Your posture, movement, muscle length, strength and a variety of special tests may be used to diagnose the cause of your problem. Once the cause has been verified, a suitable treatment program is determined. This may involve a combination of all our modes of treatment. In addition to this, a bespoke home exercise programme and lifestyle advise including ergonomics is provided. Future treatment sessions will offer a progression from the treatment provided in the initial session to ensure your continued and accelerated improvement. Your home exercise programme and lifestyle advise will be adapted according to your individual response.

Sports massage is a deep tissue massage that works by stimulating the circulation of blood and lymph fluids, breaking down adhesions (knots in the muscles), relieving tension and increasing range of motion. It incorporates a number of different techniques:
Effleurage - Light massage aimed at increasing circulation, promoting relation, improving flexibility and warming tissues.

METs, STMs and stretching - Designed to stretch tight tissues helping to restore muscles balances, reducing pain and chances of re-injury.

Petrissage - Combination of kneading, rolling, picking up, wringing, compressions. Designed to break down adhesions, increase circulation, promote relaxation and guide the healing process.

Tatepotement - Rhythmic percussion movement of hands over tissues; aimed at draining capillary beds, clearing metabolic waste, reducing swelling and reducing pain.

Deep frictions - Deep tissue work aimed at breaking down adhesions and scar tissue and strengthening and aligning Collagen fibres

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine stainless steel needles into the skin. It has been used in China for over 2,000 years and increasingly in Western medicine since the 1970's.

Acupuncture may be used to treat a wide range of common health problems and to reduce pain. For example, NICE guidelines (2009) recommend a course of 10 sessions of acupuncture for persistent, non-specific lower back pain. Moreover in 2012, NICE recognised acupuncture's benefits for migraines and tension-type headaches also.

Acupuncture stimulates the body to produce endorphins and oxytocin, its own pain and stress relieving chemicals. Acupuncture also directly stimulates local nerve fibres to block out pain signals, helping to reduce the sensitivity of tender points in the body.

Traditional acupuncture is based on the belief that an energy, or "life force", flows through the body in channels called meridians. This life force is known as Qi (pronounced "chee"). Practitioners who adhere to traditional beliefs about acupuncture believe that when Qi does not flow freely through the body, this can cause illness. They also believe acupuncture can restore the flow of Qi, and so restore health.

Swedish massage utilises true hands-on therapy which incorporates numerous different types of massage strokes - effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, friction and vibrations. These strokes are all designed to:

- Reduce muscle tension
- Relieve pain and soreness
- Reduce anxiety and stress levels
- Improve circulation and immune function

These benefits combine to improve the rate at which your body can recover from injury and illness. They also help reintegrate your mind with your body's internal equilibrium, allowing you to deal with the stresses of everyday life more effectively and better maintain that fundamental balance between your bodily systems.
