I brought my 13 year old female Shiba Inu here because it's shedding season. I called and Petness World knew exactly what she needed (very breed specific). They knew that they needed to get rid of her undercoat and they trim her nails and some of the fur near her butt. It's a very secure space which is great because my shiba is prone to escaping. I returned and she was roaming free in the space and waiting for me. And she's not shedding!! I don't have to get my dog cleaned often but when I do, I will be back!! More...

I'd like to start off by saying any time we go to the groomers, its get your services and go. We've had a handful of groomers who wouldn't even meet us and whose faces we never even seen because they would just have someone else deal with us. I've been looking for a new groomers and I wanted to find someone in an area I plan to move to eventually. I went and found Petness World online and I have absolutely no regrets. Meldrin and his assistant ( I'm horrible and forgot to ask his name, but will definitely catch it next time) were so kind and thoughtful, and made us feel very welcomed. Meldrin introduced himself and conversed with us the minute he walked in. These two are the sweetest pair and even my dog didn't want to leave after services were done. Meldrin was also very informative and answered all of my questions, and even provided me with information to help my dog with an issue he caught regarding his teeth. He made my dog look so good, I wanted him to cut my hair too  Thank you both for giving us the best grooming experience we've ever had. This was hands down the best grooming of my cats I've ever had done. My four Persian cats need grooming semi regularly. Two of the cats could be groomed by anybody, they're gentle as lambs, but 2 of my cats are so bad (kicking, scratching, biting, hissing, struggling) that multiple groomers have said they refuse to groom them after one time. So it is crucial to find a good groomer. I also wanted a groomer who would pick up and drop off my cats or do mobile grooming. With Meldrin Montano and Petness World, I got attentive, timely service, positive responses to all 4 of my cats (even the bad ones), great looking shaves, and even a cowboy themed photo shoot after! Meldrin picked up my cats promptly at 9.30am, and dropped all 4 off promptly at 1pm. This was very fast, other shavers have taken all day for only 2 of my cats. Also, Meldrin shut down the whole grooming facility for my cats so they wouldn't be stressed by dogs, which other grooming facilities haven't done. He also sent me maybe 20 videos of my cats as they were being groomed, which was so comforting, accountable, and amusing. Also the price was lower than other groomers who didn't pick up my cats! Then at the end, Meldrin sent me over 20 photos from the cowboy photo shoot he did with each cat. This was the best experience getting my cats groomed I've ever experienced! Amazing pet service and care! I was searching for a place that offered transportation to and from the groomers, also that may do home service and this place answered the call. Meldrin responded quickly to my quote request, then we communicated via text messages, phone calls and even a video chat (once the dog was ready for his cut). They made sure I wanted the bald look on my dog and it's perfect! My mom's dog, Eroz, was suppose to get groomed on Wednesday, but Meldrin found a space on Tuesday and did it right away. It took less than 2 hours, full care and you could tell he loved it. Meldrin rocks. My 14 year old Havanese has been having some health problems and we were worried about the stress of taking him to the groomer because he's nervous from start to finish. Meldrin came to our house, sequestered himself in the bathroom and an hour later our matted mop of a dog had been reborn as a sleek and stylish pup. I would recommend this service to anyone. My Havanese Google is 11 years old and he just got the best haircut he has ever had. Usually groomers complain about knots and charge extra to comb them out even though I comb him before I take him to the groomers. That was not the case here. I can't recommend Petness World enough. Meldrin was great! He gave me a quote and responded quickly when I inquired about a dog groom. He was accommodating and flexible with my schedule when I had a schedule change! My boyfriend and I cannot say ENOUGH wonderful things about Meldrin!We have two one year old shih-poos (shih-tzu + poodle mix) who have hair that grows incredibly fast and with our girl, her genetics make her tear stains very pronounced -- and we haven't had the best experiences with past groomers in Williamsburg and Lower Manhattan who seem to do a simple shave and miss small details like hair in their paws and under their faces. We have now seen Meldrin two times and despite living in Brooklyn, we trek up to the Upper West Side to see him - he is friendly, enthusiastic, and most importantly, takes great care and detail for our fur babies. He has been gracious and has even watched them hours beyond their grooming time, sends us photo updates, and adds sweet touches and accessories!We have told all of our friends about him and can't wait for his business to grow and thrive even more - well deserved. I love this place. I've been to Petness World twice to get my puppy groomed. I was recently there to get my puppy groomed on 02/02/2019. I originally found this place on Groupon but received a better deal when I arrived. The second time I paid cash also. The prices are fair especially in comparison to the local pet stores. My puppy Davion is a Yorkie/A Shih Tzu mix and he is a little playful/aggressive (I think it's because I spoiled him rotten) but the groomer Meldrin always handles him with care and love and my puppy always comes out smelling great and looking good. I love whatever shampoo and conditioner they use, my puppies fur always feels soft and smells amazing for days after coming here. The dogs and cats get a little treat while waiting to be groomed and or picked up and the also get a cute little free bandana or bow tie after each grooming. Dogs and cats are provided with water and a comfy waiting area. This place has great customer service. I travel from the Bronx to Manhattan for their services and will continue to Be a a loyal customer due to their great service. After each visit I'm happy and my puppy is happy. Ok..... so I don't write a ton of reviews but this time I couldn't help myself. I have a wonder 12 year old yellow LABRADOR RETRIEVER.  I raised him in westchester and had him groomed on a regular basis. I lived in a small town on the Hudson River so not a whole lot of choices. Just a bath and desheddimg  was recommended by the local groomer. Even though my house was quite big.... even after grooming I would have a ton of white hair all over my beautiful walnut floors. Vacuumed constantly. Now we have an apartment on UWS which is relatively small and the hair has been driving me nuts. After years of driving him back to westchester to be groomed I walked past Pet wellness on west 66th. I went in and was greeted by Meldrin. I told him how frustrating the hair was. I said as a joke can you shave a little of it off. He told me to come back in 2 hours. When I did I was shocked to see how beautiful his coat looked. Even and so shinny!!! Makes him look 5 years younger and oh my....... the difference in shedding was amazing. Everyone I speak to has the same issues with Labs and shedding. I wish I had known this years ago. Treat your dog and your apartment. I PROMISE you will be so happy. Life changer for me as I am also cleaning up after my teenage boys.  Next time I will get Buddy the deep cleanse which will be great for his skin. More...

When I met Meldrin, the owner of this shop, I KNEW he was going to be our groomer for LIFE!  He adores animals and can talk about them all day. Meldrin was an absolute delight! I've been searching for a groomer for a little over a year and I'm glad I found him. The shop is pretty far from my house but it was worth the trip and not too far from the train. BamBam and I were greeted so warmly. Meldrin was attentive and very professional. The best part was that for the first time in my grooming experience in NYC that I was allowed to wait for my baby at the waiting area. At that moment all my worries went away! BamBam was very happy and not scared, or anxious before and after his cut. THAT MEANT EVERYTHING! Love Meldrin and his team. They're great with dogs and great with grooming, and their knowledge extends way beyond that. They know a lot about the proper handling of dogs, dog health concerns, preventing injury and anxiety during grooming, etc. They also work within a vet's office which adds another layer of trust. My Pug Ziggy is a nutcase about getting his nails clipped. Meldrin knew the right way to hold him and dremel his nails - I've never seen Ziggy so calm. This was my puppy's first grooming in NY and he looks absolutely amazing. Quality service-- the appointment started on time, the groomer communicated with me to know what I was looking for, and provided updates throughout. This was hands down the best grooming my puppy has ever received and I really appreciate the patience of the groomer as well. 100% Recommended!Meldrin is incredibly talent, patient, and sweet. He provides a range of services from in-house grooming to grooming at the store in addition to other services like walks, etc. My dog Yuki was in serious need of a grooming. I'd been fairly nervous about taking him to a groomer as he is a Pomeranian and his last groomer shaved him, which causes permanent damage to the coat, even after explicitly being told not to. Meldrin assured me that he doesn't shave and even told me what products he would be using and how he would be caring for Yuki. I sent him photos of the sort of trim I wanted, which he carried out beautifully! Meldrin was extremely communicative from the day I inquired about a grooming to the minute I picked Yuki up. He sent me picture texts after the grooming was done.Booking an appointment was also super easy and can be done via text. I confirmed an appointment and sent him a photo of my dog's vaccinations. When I needed to reschedule 30 minutes earlier, Meldrin was also incredibly accommodating.Highly recommended! 10/10 service, 10/10 grooming, 10/10 communication. Nondescript entrance of a no-frills pet grooming store in the UWS.  Meldrin brings over 20 years experience with dogs as he establishes himself as one of the premier dog services in the city.  I brought my foster dog in for a much needed haircut after a surgery.  Meldrin knew how to carefully cut around and clean the stitches.  The dog came out looking years younger!  Instead of being caged, my dog was freely roaming around a penned area after her cut.  Best of all, he understands rescue dogs and gives a special discounted rate for the organizations.   Overall, great experience.  Highly recommend. I am really happy with the makeover my foster dog got here. When he first came to our home his fur was matted all over and he had so much hair in his eyes that he was teary all the time. My boyfriend made me get him groomed on a Sunday when most groomers are not open. I didn't have much hope but Petness World was super responsive and allowed me to come in immediately. We had such a wonderful experience with Petness World. We were hesitant at first as we judged the number of reviews, however do not let that be a factor in your decision making! They recently opened this location but have years of experience with dogs. They did such a wonderful job and are very detailed oriented (hair was symmetrical, nails were cut, teeth were amazing!). I was fortunate enough to squeeze our Mini Goldendoodle in on the same day and they were so kind about everything. Sometimes groomers can be intimidating in the city, especially if your dog has some tangles like ours did (whoops!). Petness World were accommodating every step of the way, they sent me photos just as she was done and totally spoiled her with treats and love. You can tell Meldrin cares about the dogs and isn't doing it to punch the clock. I can't imagine taking our dog to another groomer with how much time they dedicated to our needs. We have had our pup groomed two other times and nobody was as kind and assuring as Petness World. Don't look any further and give them a try, you won't regret it! More...

Meldrin is great and the store is a much more affordable option versus other groomers in the area.  Store is small, and has a more neighborhood feel to it which is nice.  The groomer (Meldrin) is very attentive and cares about the safety and well being (and the looks!) of the animals.  He mentioned he used to be a vet in his home country, so it is nice to know he has some of that added background when taking care of your pet.  Our dog has been there twice and both times has come back happy and clean!  Will be back and fully recommend!
