We have an American Bulldog which had a terrible start in life. We welcomed him into our family permanently when he was 1 year old. One year later, after realising he can express his feelings without fear of physical abuse, he now only lets 4 human beings in the world come near him, touch him and allows them into our house. The behaviour he showed was lunging, barking, fixating, and although it thankfully never happened, we fully believed he was capable of biting someone. Ellena actually took the time to listen to us, which we really appreciated as we had so much information that we wanted to tell her. She did not judge us, and was very easy to talk to. Ellena gave us some great advice, and her follow up report was very detailed. On top of that, she has always been available on the phone for further questions and communication after the initial consultation. Highly recommend ! Sarah, Paul and Fatboy ! More...

Within just 24 hours of the consultation I have started to implement the advice and the change is just amazing! Thank you for the time, specific advice and program of adjustments. I am 100% confident we can work on our highly anxious dog and move her to a much more relaxed existence (for all of us!). thank you!!! More...

I can not thank Ellena enough for her advice and reassurance when I called on her for help with our much loved family dog. I would have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone who has a dog that is displaying uncharacteristic behaviour to help them get to the bottom of it, and get back on the right track! More...

Working with Ellena has been 100% worth it for me and our much-loved Patterjack (Rolo). There has been huge progress in just a couple of weeks and it keeps getting better every day. To say Rolo was nervous would be an understatement. He’d always been an anxious dog but was badly traumatised in autumn, 2017 by a motorbike backfiring right next to us on a walk. This was compounded by the November fireworks nightmare (two weeks where we live and some at Christmas, New Year & Diwali too). Walks had become an absolute torture of frantic pulling to get home and ‘kicking off’ at people, dogs and any small or large noise. He’d been under the vet, who advised short-term breaks from walking (to reduce his stress levels). But being an energetic dog, he was climbing the walls. We also tried some herbal and drug solutions but these were either ineffective or only suitable for one-off noisy events, which were difficult to predict.Enter Ellena and we’ve finally got on top of things! Her consultation was unrushed and thorough and she kindly accompanied us on a dog walk to look at his triggers (and solutions). Ellena’s report, which followed quickly, was detailed yet easy to read and understand.Progress from using Ellena’s recommendations/techniques came quickly and have made a huge difference to his anxiety levels (and mine!). He can pass other dogs without incident now and take various noises in his stride. I also had a follow-up question, which Ellena kindly answered over email (and that issue has now been resolved too).Very pleased to say I’m now enjoying (rather than enduring) walks and cannot recommend Ellena highly enough if you are experiencing similar issues. A happy boy = a happy owner. Thank you Ellena! More...

Ellena helped us with a few issues with both of dogs. She also referred one of our dogs to a class which is specifically for reactive dogs. The advice she gave us and our dog walkers helped us to prepare for these classes and we were able to avoid further issues. Ellena also gave us realistic expectations as to how long it would take to address these issues. She was fantastic in following up with any issues. Ellena's approach is positive reward based, backed up with a lot of information and support. More...

Both me and my dog were treated with kindness and understanding and made to feel that with time and patience Ted would be less fearful of sudden noises and enjoy his walks. He will always be a nervous dog but he has improved and I understand his fears and was shown how to react to them .A valuable session and I highly recommend`. More...

As a vet, the support and help we receive from Ellena at Pet Behaviour Therapy is excellent. She has helped many of our clients and their pets, and I have learned a lot from reading her (very detailed and thorough) referral reports. Highly recommended.

We had a brilliant experience with Ellena and we thoroughly recommend her to anyone who is seeking help for their pet's behaviour. Ellena was very quick to respond to our initial enquiry, and then came to visit us in our home. She was friendly, kind, attentive, and thorough. As well as teaching us training exercises in our home, she also sent us a detailed and clear report -- as well as various other documents -- which gave us a clear program to change our dog's behaviour. She replied to all our follow-up enquires very quickly. Our dog's behaviour has improved a lot and we are all happier for it! More...

The referral process is simple, Ellena is generally very prompt at replying to referrals and queries, and the service provided for clients is excellent. A detailed and thorough assessment and report is returned for each patient, and well-evidenced, up to date advice for behavioural modification is offered. This gives me a chance to learn more about current behavioural theories as well.
I recommend Pet Behaviour Therapy for all of my dog and cat veterinary behaviour referrals.
