Can’t recommend Jane and the team enough! They care so much and really do just want the best for every dog! I’m so glad we found them! So much information and advice that can be used in many different scenarios! My Hugo has completed the beginners class, goes to school and will soon be starting group walks with the Paws 4 team and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my boy. Myself and Pablo have just completed the beginners course It was such a great course, gave us FUN techniques to train Pablo Jane and Paul’s experience and knowledge really comes across in the training I would recommend anyone with a pooch to take this or any of the courses available

Ellie has loved every minute of the training with Paws Positive Dog Training. She hasn’t always managed to do things straight away but we have been given the “tools” to work with her further. Her recall is excellent, even with distractions. She now sits quietly at the lounge door if someone rings the bell, instead of going mental. Jane has helped us with our 12 month old rescue dog with recall loose lead, the 8 week course has been very intense, giving you a series of tools to use in your training in a fun way. The progress we have made is great, not perfect but I wouldn’t except that in 8 weeks. I would recommend for anyone who has not done puppy training first to do this course. this is an outside course and we’ve had rain, hail, sleet, snow and 70 mile an hour winds, all tried to hold us back but onwards we battled and Jane calmly carried on. I have just completed the beginners course and have almost completed the loose lead and recall course and can highly recommend them both. I have thoroughly enjoyed them and the games based training was very rewarding for both me and my dog. The dogs learn “cues” rather than “commands” and quickly pick up what to do in a kind dog friendly manner. Jayne and Paul are excellent and very knowledgeable trainers and dog behaviour specialists. Fantastic training. Completed the Beginners course with our little Chihuahua Jasper and he passed. The training is excellent, they cover everything you need for a beginner. We started with a little yappy dog, who was distracted by everything to a calmer dog who is better on and off his lead. Great advice given throughout on all topics. I recently attended the Perfect Walk training course with my over enthusiastic young dog. This course focused on loose lead walking and recall. I found the course to be very well structured using simple games and exercises which my dog found to be fun and easy to learn. The exercises were built upon each week so that my dog could gradually learn how to walk on the lead better and recall. With only 5-10 mins training practice each day, he is definitely a changed dog after 6 weeks and I’ve been left well equipped with the tools to continue his training and develop him further. Both instructors Jane and Paul were excellent. They took time to spend with each dog/owner in our small training group and supported us in between times in a private Facebook group where you could find all the detailed training notes as well as ask advice or even submit videos for commentary and further advice. This course was excellent value for money and I will definitely be attending further training courses with Paws Positive. More...

We've been training loose lead walking and staying calm around other dogs whilst on walks, the loose lead walking has improved dramatically after amazing advice from Jane at Paws Positive training. We did the puppy training classes with our pup which were brilliant. And recently found ourselves needing help with some issues with our boy, jumping up, barking and biting, mainly at meal times. We had a session last night which was fantastic, the change in him not only during our session but not even 24 hours later is amazing. We know we have some way to go but we will keep at it ! After just completing the beginners course i am in complete amazement the progress made in such a short space of time with my Cockapoo, she is the typical hyper fussy character that is well known in this breed but also has an incredibly anxious side and a very stubborn will and deaf ear at times. Jane taught me how to work on boundaries with star and how to control her pulling on the lead more easily which has been a big issue with star when she gets over excited, it has also given me so much more confidence to try off lead with Star on walks after seeing how easily she returned to me during the classes. I can already see after the first course the changes in Stars mindset and how she is approaching things and listening to commands, I am looking forward to the next course with Star to work on the areas she still struggles with and also for myself to learn how to instruct my dog properly because I have also discovered a lot of stars issues has been down to my own errors and not her own. My dogs were taken great care of while we were on holiday. One of my dogs is clearly not the most trusting and wasnt willing to interact. But it was handled professionally and kindly without issue. I contacted Jane after discovering my two year old patterdale terrier was terrible with babies. Tib would jump, bark, lunge and whine whenever he was around babies. As we were pregnant we were worried about him and our babies safety and desperate to do everything we could to prepare him for the upcoming changes. At five months pregnant Jane came to our home and gave us the training techniques and games needed to help Tib prepare. We were armed with the games, given handouts and Jane was on call to guide us should we have any questions or need any extra support. That extra bit of support off Jane was incredibly helpful as naturally different situations occurred which we were not prepared for. For eg: a friend brought a crawling baby around which sent Tib into a frenzy. I contacted Jane in a panic but she calmly pointed out Tib needed to be DMT’d to a baby been on the floor. After doing the training games as much as we could (4-5 x a week) in the run up to our daughter been born were happy to say that after 1 week of her been home Tib is doing fantastic! We’re still doing the training with Tib BUT ONLY to desensitise him to the different items of hers we bring into the home. We are no longer worried, he is doing so well he even sits on the sofa with us all (baby included) ????. We are so thankful to Jane, we really were worried as Tibs behaviour was so bad we did not know if he would be safe to be around a baby. Was concerned my 10 month nervous Romanian rescue dog wouldn’t cope with a puppy class but the recall class in a field that Jane told me about was perfect! It was 2 hours and it gave Nala time to settle and she behaved perfectly! The trainers were great! Informative, funny, relaxed and respectful! Would highly recommend. I’ve booked another class! ???? I 1,000,000% recommend Paws 4 a Break! They have taken such good care of my old dog, Harry. We had tried every kennel in the area and Harry would come back, hurt, stressed and unhappy so I knew this time round he needed something special and special is what we found. My old boy will not be going any else now, they have taken such great care of him and I know Harry was happy because his tail hasn’t stopped wagging. For the first time in a long time I’m not worried about leaving him with these fabulous people! Martin and Jane have been brilliant. They accommodated all 3 of our pooches including the giant Ted for the weekend. It's been so reassuring having all the pictures on Facebook knowing he was happy and not anxious, they even did a bit of lead work with Gracie whilst out and about. although Ted was happy to be home it was a greeting as if we had been away for a day not the weekend which is brill! We left our elderly dog Cassi for a week with Jane & Martin and couldn't be more pleased with how she was cared for. They catered for her every need including administering her medication, as she was unable to climb the stairs she slept with Martin nightly in his 'man cave', was treated to meals with them & lots of cuddles! We was kept up to date with photos from them & nothing was too much trouble. We cannot thank you both enough for taking care of our old lady & would recommend your services to anyone! My lhasa apso Mia stayed at paws for a break for 2 week's & was very happy with the service that much so she's booked in for another 3 weeks. ... it's lovely to go away with piece of mind knowing your pet is well cared for.... I'd highly recommend

We took a rescue dog in November last year, which gave us a bit of a problem as we had a holiday booked for two weeks at the end of February.

Not keen on kennels and have always used pet sitters in the past.

After trawling the Internet for weeks we found Paws 4 a Break and reading the reviews thought this is for us. Met Jane and Martyn and straight away new that our pets (we also have a cat) would be well looked after.

We were not disappointed on our return both pets were fine, relaxed and had obviously been well cared for.

It was also nice to find the house equally well cared for, clean and tidy.

Our dog J took to Martyn and visa a versa as did Charlie our cat they obviously got on like a house on fire and it’s plain Martyn loves animals and spoils them.

Martyn also walked our daughter’s dog once a day (she was away with us) and from the photos you can see was equally at home with him.

If you are looking for someone to look after your precious pet while you are away then look no further than Paws 4 a Break I can highly recommend them, you will have piece of mind knowing you pet is in good hands. More...

its the first time Toby has stayed at Paws 4 a break and even though it was only for two days as a taster, he couldn`t have been in more capable hands. he had a wonderful time and is a very happy baby. Toby has a few problems he`s allergic to gluten and wheat plus he has injections every month for several allergies, however Martyn and Jane discussed his diet and his requirements......it was like a home from home. I have no worries when Toby stays with them in April for 9 days. cannot recommend them highly enough. More...

I was so nervous about leaving my gorgeous boy for the first time, but having collected Troy this evening after his first stay, I couldn't be happier with how well he was looked after. He is happy, healthy and has enjoyed lovely walks, play times and adventures daily during his holiday and is now fast asleep and snoring on the sofa. It is clear that Martin and Jane love and know dogs and look after them as if they were their own. Nothing is too much trouble and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
