The best investment we ever made inour dogs was sending them to PawParadise.Lori, the owner, is most gracious and generous, andgoes way beyond the call of duty! We have a 6 year old Shih-Poo (Sky) and an 18 month old Malti-Poo (Blue)!The older one resented the new puppy for the first 6 months and was occasionally aggressive with Blue.Blue would sometimes go in the street and not respond to "Come".Neither dog actually followed commands. Blue would heel only if he got a treat.In addition, they both hated the car and they barked a lot if they heard noises outside or if the door bell rang or a package was left.Fast forward to post 3-weeks of training by Lori.They are now good buds - they sleep next to each other, go to their bed on command, heel, sit and don't bark! Lori really understood what I needed. We went with the 4 week training. I felt extremely comfortable working with her, I highly recommend this professional.

Best Dog Training Ever!A couple months ago I got a toy poodle puppy that was having a lot of behavioral issues. My boyfriend suggested I have him trained at Paw Paradise since his sister also took her two labs here and they became amazing obedient dogs. Our dog Leo has always been energetic and loves people.  He just didn't know how to show it without jumping all over someone and making anyone new coming into the house a nerve wracking experience. I have small children so he would bolt out of the door or could not be outside alone without whining or barking to come back in unless someone was outside even for a few minutes. Since we put Leo in his intensive training over 6 months ago he still has maintained his skills.  We have seen a huge improvement in his separation anxiety.  He was able to be around my grandmother who is very afraid of dogs and with her Parkinson's is a huge fall risk.  So no jumping could happen. Leo was able to respect boundaries and did not jump on her once and only would come to her to try and say hi gently but I was able to redirect him and by the end of the week she was feeding him food and petting him! We can't thank Paw Paradise enough! We have a wonderful dog who does not need to be crated and can be trusted at home and is so loved we are so thankful! More...

Paw Paradise is great! Lori and her staff did an excellent job training our crazy lab mix puppy. He would jump all over our small children, chew everything up, and generally be crazy. We love Paw Paradise! Our dog, a rescue, definitely had some issues. I sent him to Paw Paradise for their boarding and training program. He went in an anxious, insecure, and wild pup and came out so much more confident, happy, and aware of his purpose. He is far less afraid of strangers and seems so much happier! I've been taking my dogs to Paw paradise for several years. I drive 30 min and it's been worth the drive. I never have a problem boarding my dogs. My dogs are always happy and the communication on how my dogs are doing is great. My dogs have been introduced to chickens , ducks and cats. I haven't experienced training. I only board but I notice my dogs come back less needy and they sleep throughout the night vs waking me up to go potty. My dogs are too spoiled at home but at camp they come home less spoiled in a good way. Tired and always happy to go back. They get lots of play time with other dogs which is good since I don't go to the dog parks. I always feel comfortable leaving my dogs at paw paradise. More...

Our dog loved the place. He was so happy to be there that we could tell he was sad to leave. He is terrified of the rain and even though it rained the day he was there he didn't seem to notice and continued to play with his dog mates. Could not recommend this place more!! Our dog Piper went there for a training boot camp and returned home a perfectly behaved dog! We were all in disbelief! We had a lot of issues- she would jump on kids, nibble, chew everything, bolt out the door, not socialize with/go to attack other dogs, steal food from our table, bark like crazy whenever any one walked by, get crazy hyper if we had a bunch of people over. All of these issues were resolved! She's so much calmer now- but it still super fun/playful. She will "go to bed" and stay there when i ask her to. She will sit, heel, get off, go down on command- even with kids running around her eating all kids of treats. She doesn't run out our door anymore. She can even be off leash in our front yard and ignore dogs/people as they walk by. Incredible!Would highly recommend Paw Paradise and Lori to anyone looking to correct any behavior. So happy we found her because i was honestly wondering if we could keep her indefinitely if she kept having all those problems. It was so stressful. Lori and Reuben of Paw Paradise are top notch E-collar trainers.  We sent our 8-month old puppy, Hazel (large mixed breed rescue) for a 1-month E-collar training program with Lori.  We have never tried E-collar training and were a little hesitant, but I am now fully convinced as to its benefits.  Hazel came back perfectly trained and knows her place in our household.  She has a lot more confidence too.  Hazel was a timid, counter surfing, not coming, sweet tornado of a puppy!  Not aggressive, just timid, babied and not trained.  For the long-term happiness of our family we gave this a try and could not be happier.  Hazel listens, comes on command, stays, has much more confidence, does not even go near the counter or food left out anymore...Lori did an amazing job.  Highly recommend their E collar training, puppy daycare and boarding.  So glad we recently found them, we are all much happier and saner"!As for boarding at Paw Paradise, also top notch.  Our older dog is a mixed German Sheppard breed and has separation anxiety.  He would always come home with kennel nose from boarding experiences.  At Paw Paradise, he is mainly kept cage free and he comes home happy, relaxed and with no nose issues for the 1st time in his 10 years boarding history! The best! We thought our dog was incorrigible. We were at the end of interventions and strategies tried on our own. Lori, her husband, and staff turned our dog around. Our family is forever changed and we are appreciative and grateful for Paw Paradise of Poway. Lori even trained me and my family so we know the new rules and can continue all the work that has been done. Our sweet girl can now follow basic commands, she is completely off of her anti-anxiety prescription medicine, she no longer jumps at every little sound and at her own shadow, she is no longer afraid of men. She no longer barks at every single person who walks by or near our home. This review is long over due. I have tried everything that Paw Paradise has to offer, their boarding, training and daycare. I cannot rave about this  place enough.Daycare:  They pride themselves that they can deal with any dog no matter how aggressive or what issues they have. They can find a play mate for that dog. They are really really really knowledgeable with different dogs and breeds. Some pet daycares seem to employ people who love dogs and give the dogs everything that they want, which isn't aways the best thing. Sometimes dogs need space just like how we need space. Or sometimes they just don't play along with another dog for that specific day. Hey we all have mood swings and our dogs are no different. My dog Captian always comes home happy and tired after a fun day at the daycare. It is an out door day care so on the days it rains, you should just keep your dog at home. They have half day boarding (six hours) or full day (more than six hours). They are SUPER competitively priced.Boarding: Lots of places tell me to bring the dogs bedding. Last place I boarded my dog I was giving a trash bag full of the shredded bedding. Paw Paradise told me not to bother with a bed at all. I Loved that they don't try to appease everything that the owners want because they have a deep understanding of how dogs are. No added fees for medication giving, or giving extra treats that I brought. Plus captain got to play in day care every day during his boarding where as other places would charge you for everything.Importantly! Your dog doesn't need to be fixed to go here!!!!! I have called around to so many different day cares and boarding facilities and they all require the dog to be fixed in order to let the dog out to play with other dogs. But Paw Paradise doesn't believe that is necessary. Not that I don't believe in fixing my dog, but I am waiting for the right time. Training: My dog has gone through obedience training at a different facility, however I really wanted to do off leash training. GAME. CHANGER. Let me tell you. I really feel like I don't ever need to second guess if he will listen to me or not. Cause he will now. I have gone on several hikes already with him off leash and its nice to know he can wander around sniffing everything he wants to sniff and will come back when I call him. I can't rave enough about Paw Paradise.  When you pull up it doesn't look like that awesome. But looks can be deceiving because it really has to do with the people at the facility and what they provide for the dogs. Are they attentive with with different dog demeanors and sounds.  Do they KNOW what is going on with a certain bark or growl.  Not all dog sounds means something dangerous. I have gone to expensive places with dog tv for the dogs and everything and have been sorely disappointed with the services they provide and how NOT attentive/knowledgable about dog behavior they were. We feel 100% comfortable leaving our dog in their care. They truly care about the dogs in their service, are super flexible, have extremely friendly and personable staffing, and send us picture updates via text. One time we called to say we were going to leave him in for longer and they FaceTimed us so we could see our pup, and have always openly accepted our dog for last minute daycare and last minute boarding. Our dog has sensitive skin and their complimentary bath after two overnights utilizes oatmeal bath and no chemicals. They work with non-fixed dogs which is very convenient, since most dog daycares and boarding stop accepting dogs if they're not neutered after 6 or 7 months. It was a blessing to find this place! This review is somewhat overdue.  On the recommendation of a dog owner friend, I chose Paw Paradise to board the abandoned Belgian Malinois I rescued in December 2018. The reason for four stars instead of five is because they lack a few of the fancier amenities that some of the other places offer, such as webcams, private running space, and dedicated exercise.  But, those places cost about 75% more.If you are looking for a no frills, safe haven for your dog with people who really know and train dogs, Paw Paradise is a great choice.  At $40/night, it is a great value.We went on 6 trips in the last 3 months and after the first experience w Paw Paradise, i felt safe to leave her multiple times.  Initially, i was very concerned about boarding Mira.  I even made a special trip out to check out the facilities before actually taking Mira there.  The first stay was for almost 3 weeks.  Then a week later, we had to board her for another 9 days.  I have since taken her there 3 or 4 times for shorter visits of 2 or 3 days.Each time I pick her up, she is showered and smells great.  Lori does a great job and it is exceedingly obvious that she has a special gift w handling dogs.  My Mal is not always easy to handle, especially w strangers.  But, Lori was able to handle her immediately.During the extended stay, Lori texted me some pictures of Mira with some fellow boarding buddies.  Hanging out with a pack of other dogs can be a lot of fun.Note that they have 4 holding pens and are very careful, and systematic about how they bring in new guests to acclimate your dog before putting them with the group of dogs their size.Today, during pickup, we talked about July 4 fireworks and how i read on Nextdoor about a German Shepherd running away in Mira Mesa.  Lori explained that during the fireworks, they put all the dogs in the garage where they sleep and turn on music, so that they don't hear the fireworks.  This experience prompted me to go ahead to post this review.  They do a superb job.  5 stars for service.  4 star overall just because facilities aren't as high level as the expensive places.  5 stars for value.I am very satisfied and will continue to use and recommend this place! Our Kai is home. After three weeks of Boot Camp he is a new dog. He knows leave it, heal, go to your bed, stay, quiet, come. Also We just went to Petco and he was such a good boy! No stress! I have been in shelter dog rescue for many years and there is not a boarding facility in all of San Diego county that I would give a higher rating. Lori is genuine, honest, very knowledgeable and her business is her passion. The facility is clean, well maintained and is located in a beautiful, peaceful area of Poway surrounded by horse pastures. Lori also has years of experience in veterinary and grooming and she is a professional dog trainer as well. We love Paw Paradise!! Our dog Ravioli has the best time and we never worry when he is staying here. We know he is well taken care of, gets to play as much as he wants with his buddies, gets love from Lori and Sadie and everyone else, and so much more. If he has tummy problems they will watch closely and give him pumpkin or whatever else he needs. They send updates when we want them. Lori is a genuine, nice, and caring person! Lori / Paw Paradise did such an amazing job with our Saint Bernard. She is almost 2 years old and we'd still never got her to comply with not jumping on people, sitting (and staying! ) and we had a lot of trouble taking her on her walks. She is so strong and would pull so hard. Now, she heels and listens to the commands Lori taught her/us. When we say "go to bed" she goes right to her bed. Truly amazing when considering how stubborn our dog is. Lori even called to ask us if our dog could stay another week (at NO Charge!), just because she is so stubborn and Lori really wanted to be sure our she was fully trained before sending her back with us. Our puppy (8 months old) is a GSD mix who is extremely intelligent and therefore extremely stubborn. When we started, we were asked for a list of things that we wanted specifically from the training. We gave them a list, and in a few short weeks, the wonderful staff at Paw Paradise worked with her and we couldn't happier with the results. They happily answered all of our questions and even spent some time training us how to be consistent with what was trained. Our sweet Ellie behaves so much better now! She interacts well with other dogs, heels while on leash, doesn't bark all day anymore, and does numerous other things that we asked Paw Paradise to work on with her (sit, down stay, quiet, etc). Thank goodness for Paw Paradise! Our dog sitter bailed on us at the last minute for Christmas and this place saved our lives! We have a dog-aggressive dog so usually kenneling her would not be an option, but Paw Paradise has three separate outdoor spaces so they were able to accommodate her special "issues." The owner even told me they have some dogs who are people aggressive too and welcome all types of dogs and/or emotional baggage. The cages they sleep in are bigger than most and have an elevated bed off the ground and a temperature controlled building.. the owners are so sweet and sent pictures of our pup while we were away... we will definitely be using them again for our next trip. I brought my Belgian Mal here for training and socializing because he was TERRIBLE at it and not at ALL leash trained! When we got him back not only did Lori go in depth On how we were to continue to lead him we literally got a different pup back he was soo well behaved leash trained and a few other things I wasn't even expecting not only did they meet my standards they we above and beyond for my pup! This review is long overdue. I took my two pups here when I went to New York back in June. I was new to the area, and literally HATE having to leave my dogs (which I'm sure everyone who is a fur mom/dad can relate to). Lori at Paw Paradise texted me pictures of my boys, and gave me updates when I was missing them most. Not to mention it is WAY less expensive than the other places that are managed by corporations. I like that this was home based & more intimate. My dogs seemed very comfortable, and even got a complimentary bath at the end. Next time I leave town, Charley & Diego will be coming back! We originally reached out to Paw Paradise during our wedding/honeymoon to board our two dogs, Dale- a chocolate lab and Maverick- a mixed breed dog that we had adopted from the Humane Society about a year prior.  I am a super anxious dog mom since our dog Maverick has a lot of separation anxiety and does not always do well with new people and other dogs. Both of our dogs were also terrible on the leash and would bark and jump on people anytime they came to the door! We did the Board and Train program with Braelyn and couldn't be more pleased with the results. We no longer hated going on walks with the dogs because they were so much easier to manage. We could also have people over and the dogs are so well behaved. Fast forward a year and a half and we just welcomed a baby girl into our home. Our dogs could sense something was up and had started acting out, specifically Maverick. Braelyn suggested an ecollar. At first I was reluctant because I hated the idea of "shocking" my dog, but the results have been AMAZING! Maverick was so receptive. He absolutely LOVES working with Braelyn and it has been so fun to see how happy he is when we pick him up after training!!Bottom line, we couldn't be more grateful to Braelyn for all the work she has done with our dogs! We had the wonderful privilege of working with Braelyn. We had two dogs that we just love but they had a lot of behavioral issues. (Counter surfing, excessive barking, aggressiveness etc.) it was starting to get very bad and with a new child coming into our home we were wondering if we would have to re-home one of our little fur babies. Enter Braelyn:Within a week she had our problem dog obeying the basic commands. By the end of two weeks we had begun to walk him without a leash and being comfortable that he would listen and react appropriately. Talk about a 180 degree change!!! Night and day difference. AMAZING! Lori and her crew took such great care of our 3 fur babies. She sends updates and pictures if you want them, which allowed us to see our babies having a great time while we were out having a great time. When we went to pick them up, they had just been bathed and they were excited to see us but continued to visit with Lori and her crew - tails a-waggin' the whole time! Our babies usually go on vacation with us so this was our first boarding experience. I was referred to them by a friend of mine and must say I am beyond pleased with Paw Paradise.
