Paul Gregory Photography

The first time I went to Paul was for my senior year Musical Theater head shots back in 2012. I was undergoing a huge weight loss transformation and my biggest concern was being able to have really nice pictures that I would be able to use as long as possible during the rapid weight loss. Not only did Paul accommodate me, he did my make up himself, my hair himself, helped me choose my three looks himself, played the best music, ordered lunch for myself and my friend who also did a session with him, and also spent the entire day with us. It is rare to find a photographer like Paul. He brings the best out in you and accommodates you fully. He shows you the images as you go, asks you what you want, and makes sure you are happy. His retouching is like no one else's. I am immediately drawn to the clients eyes when I look at Paul's work (which is what drew me to him in the first place). His client list is extremely impressive. Go to his website and see for yourself!! Because of all this I decided to go back to Paul in 2014, 2 years later, to have him redo my head shots since I lost the majority of my weight. His New York location is fabulous. Great space, great natural lighting, not to mention great restaurants around the area in case you get hungry. Now nearly 4 years he just did my most current head shots and they are by far my best shoot yet. I will never go to any one but Paul. The feedback I get from agents/casting directors on my head shots is great. He is the best in the business. Any one who thinks David Noles is better is out of their mind. I cannot recommend paul Gregory enough.  Not only are his photographs better than anybody around today not only for their quality,artistic excellence, and a deep understanding by the photographer on how to get the best out of every individual.  But they are relevant.  He is very plugged into the current trends of the moment so he always knows how to take photographs that get people in the door.Not only have I shot with him several times but I have recommended him to people and have had the opportunity to go to his shoots and witness him in motion.  He is a very kind and patient man and that quality brings out the best in people.  It is very easy to feel safe and comfortable in his presence...and that quality tranfers to the photos.He includes hair and makeup in the shoot.  He also helps you choose your looks based upon who you are and how you want to be seen in the industry.  He has a great eye. My daughter had a session with Paul today, and it was just amazing!  Paul really took his time with my her.  He tried 3 different looks and really zoned in on capturing her personality.  He was easy going, funny, and created a calm environment.  He also sent us beautiful edited photographs in less than an hour!  They are beautiful, and I am so thankful to have these shots into her personality.  Thank you, Paul.  I hope we will see you again soon!!! Well, well, let me tell you about Paul Gregory and his photography.  He has the greatest personality and demeanor.  I absolutely love the headshots and my agent does too!  Paul's studio is delightful, light, bright, and cheerful.  The environment puts you at ease.  He actually made me feel special with the pleasant and authentic communication which was ongoing the entire time that I was there. I've always been very nervous about choosing photographers.  Most importantly, selecting one that would be comfortable with me! I had headshots done a year ago with another photographer. However, I acquired a new agent and they recommended I get some new shots to portray some different looks.  My first thought was okay, here they go, as I'm always told when you get a new agent they always recommend you get new shots and blah, blah, blah.  However, I took their advice and reviewed the list of photographers that they gave me which included the name Paul Gregory.  I looked up his website and was very impressed with his website!  So, I said okay, he passed the first test, the fantastic website!  So I began communicating and asking questions just to see how the communication would go.  He was prompt and clear in his email communications.  Therefore, I was able to go ahead and book the session. Now back to the HEADSHOTS!  They are a huge difference from the one's I did a year ago with another photographer. It was well worth the money spent.  Paul also did my make up. I was certainly leery about that because I've never had a man do my makeup.  He knows what he's doing with makeup too!  Paul sent me the photos in Drop Box which I'm familiar with.  It enabled me to share them with my agency with the click of a button.  I was pleased with the efficiency of that as well.  His photo retouching is superb.  With my new headshots, I'm looking forward to a great year ahead.   I'm very happy with Paul's work and you will be too! Let me start off by saying that I hate getting my picture taken. I always feel self conscious and like I'm forcing some smile or emotion, which is usually evident in the pictures.  This has always been the sad case until this last week when I shot with Paul. In short, the man is a professional. Not just because he takes amazing photographs--which he does--but because he works with and adapts to whomever he is shooting. Don't get me wrong--I was still an awkward weirdo, but he was somehow able to ask me the right questions, give me the right direction, and snap his shutter at the right moments. Finally my reps are telling me that I have pictures that capture my personality and essence, instead of just smiling or posing for a picture...or looking like I'm contemplating suicide. I have never been so happy with my headshots! Paul put me at ease right away, he's super friendly and easy to talk to, which I felt helped me loosen up (as headshots aren't my favorite thing to do! ) I had Paul do my hair and make-up, something I've always done myself for headshots, so I was a little nervous about "not looking like me" but I needn't have worried, Paul knew exactly what he was doing and I actually took the names of some of the products he used on me so I can buy for myself! I can be very picky (sorry Paul) but Paul understood what I wanted and helped me achieve the results beautifully.His photography looks classic, and timeless, hands down the best I've shot with. I love Paul Gregory. And better yet I LOVE MY HEADSHOTS BY PAUL. I shot with Paul approx 10 years ago when black and white and film were still the modus operandi. Took a self imposed hiatus of 8 years and decided it was time to get back to it. Began my search for a photographer and may I say shopping for headshot photographers is as annoying as shopping for a car. While I was on the hunt I remembered Paul and how much I loved his pics when he took them years ago. I searched him and voila, was so pleased to find he is still creating his amazing work. I was able to schedule a shoot promptly and also have a nice chat with him before our appointment. My favorite part, beyond his photographic ability is his hair and make up skill..GET THE PACKAGE..he is a miracle worker. I have had so many photo shoots ruined by bad make up and he nailed it perfectly. The experience was very easy going, and he chats amicably so I was able to keep my mind off of my dislike of taking headshots. By the time we were shooting, I was relaxed and it was easy..amazing. Paul is a great artist and the finished products are marketable and so useful..and I got multiple choices out of two looks. I am completely satisfied with Paul's work and will def go back when I need more looks. This was my first professional photo shoot. And I have to say that Paul made me feel so relaxed and ready to shoot. He is a really down to earth guy with a good heart and a smart eye for photography. Paul is such a great photographer! My first tip that he was great came from a mutual friend who told me he is the best, and my second was seeing his clientele. When I actually got to shoot with him it was a great time. It wasn't just an in n out photo session, he took a lot of time talking to me (mostly during the shoot) about some important things, like giving me some career advice, and plenty of inspiration. Exactly what you would want in a photographer. First and foremost, the photos are excellent, bringing out exactly what you want him too and often looks you didn't you had. He's comforting, easy to talk to and has a great eye. The lighting is fantastic, highlighting your most attractive features without seeming washed out or unnatural. He is also a goldmine of advice and stories, I learned more about the "business" from a few hours with him than the last 2 months. All in all a fantastic experience and well worth the price tag. Paul is the only person I trust to do my photos. He is nothing but professional, I felt so relaxed and comfortable through the whole shoot. He did my hair and make up beautifully and helped me pick out my outfits. After your session, the pictures are yours, no extra fees, you get a disc with all of your photos and negatives, he even gave me a coupon for half off prints at a nearby store. *An added bonus is his little dog, Louie! I did extensive research on many photographers before selecting Paul. I considered Theo & Juliet, Dana Patrick, and many other notable people and could not be happier that I chose Paul. You do not need to spend 800+ dollars to get incredible shots. Paul is a true professional and also has a rare talent, he captures the best side of you! His pricing is fair and affordable.
