Fabulous tasting menu: incredible variety and value. The ceviche and the chicken were especially knock-out, and dessert was breathtaking. Matched with excellent service! Friendly and warm. We will definitely be back. Would recommend this spot for a romantic date or a dinner with friends. Two points of constructive feedback:- Oddly, they sat everyone in the darker/cramped back area rather than making use of the nicer front seating area.- The bartenders are lovely, but the cocktails themselves are a little lackluster. We had the veg taster menu was good value at £40. Good variety of plates and good size. As this was our first time two minor points that they should address the waiter serving us didn't really know what the content of each plate was so had to go away and ask each time. We worked out most of it from the menu. The other which was a nono was we were given a fish dish we spotted this and queried which they changed and apologised for. Hence the 4*. Came with a group of 8 girls and they sat us in the private room which was very nice ambiance! We were asked to order from the group tasting menu, and were able to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Was a bit concerned before the dinner that we would not have enough food, but we had too much! It is surprising and delightful in equal measure to find a veritable gem of a place in London, with food that is consistently and exceedingly excellent whilst simultaneously being surprisingly affordable and unpretentious. My party went for the lunch tasting menu and were served knockout punch after knockout punch leaving us reeling in the floor bereft of our senses, that is, excepting the sense modality of taste, which was dazzled and overwhelmed.The pork belly was crunchy, fatty, sweet and sour - Asian influenced and all the better for it. The ceviches were night and day: the clarity of the sea bass proving a counterpoint to the bellicose and loud tuna, which had a real attitude about it (think James Dean in his prime). To my mind, the winner had to be the chicken, which was bold and aggressively spiced, flavour jumping off the plate at every turn. The fried aubergine was highly recommended and rightly so - crisp, rich, fatty, and juicy, the spices delicately balanced by the yoghurt, with the surprising addition of pecan really making the dish with its earthy and crunchy qualities. The fried plantain was another delight, its sweet base punctuated by salty feta and black olive. The definition of more-ish. The chocolate desert was so decadent that even I, the most avaricious of eaters, had to wave the white flag and pack the remains home, chastened at my defeat.If there was a minor complaint, it was that there was some forgetfulness about which items had appeared, but service was so generally exemplary and this kerfuffle so quickly and cheerfully rectified that it can hardly be said to count against in any meaningful sense.Highly recommended.
