An amazing Personal Trainer. Dave has worked hard to gain a high level of knowledge on all aspects of fitness and nutrition. He applies it to his clients and I've seen them all advance way beyond my expectations. I’ve never really enjoyed working out or stuck with it for very long but thanks to Dave Im now 1 year into my weight loss journey I’ve still got a way to go but I know with Dave’s help I’ll get there. I’ve been training with Optimal Fitness since May and cannot believe the transformation in myself over these past months! I’ve had trainers in the past and despite seeing results, have still dreaded every gym visit. I have not once had that feeling with Dave, his positive approach to training and ongoing encouragement is amazing, not to mention his ability to turn a not so enjoyable workout (cardio for me) into a fun session is something I never thought I would experience. Dave is always 100% during training sessions and his attention to detail from basic techniques, small/major posture adjustments and adapting exercising to ease particular areas of weakness or pain shows his depth of knowledge and dedication to giving his clients the best possible service tailored to their needs. Training with Dave for almost 4 months we are yet to have 2 sessions the same, there is always a new challenge or something different to keep it interesting. Dave has also helped with my nutrition - something I’ve never really bought into before. His attitude towards a lifestyle change and not a diet is a breath of fresh air from previous experiences, he has given me so many ideas about food and shown how easy it can be to hit your macro goals and still enjoy a freddo instead of a rice cakes! It also helps he’s a really nice down to earth guy, it’s like working out with your friend who absolutely destroys you (in a good way) I cannot recommend him enough! More...

Dave was my first PT and I've always absolutely loved the sessions. Always varied, really manages to find that little niche of exercise that you really enjoy and makes it actually fun. Would highly recommend! :)

With all the best intentions I could not make the progress I wanted by working on my own but once I started with Dave from Optimal Fitness I found my focus. I also found I loved weights (and was actually not bad at them too) for my age!(54yrs). I began to work much harder than I thought I could and as a result achieved much more than I ever thought I could. From 'zero' (never lifted weights at all, I was able to squat 60KG, deadlift 75KG, do 20+ full press ups and started to chin up/pull up too. Thanks for believing in me and pushing me just enough. You made it fun but I always felt safe too. I highly recommend Dave as a personal trainer, you won't regret it. More...

I started training with Dave to solve a particular problem; last year I had a total right hip replacement procedure and with a few personal issues I became way out of shape in the winter and spring 2017. In my younger years, I enjoyed being active so wanted to get fitter, more mobile, more flexible and try and get to a place where I could once again maybe play cricket again - oh and lose some timber! Dave has listened to all concerns and wishes and has developed a perfect recovery strategy which is extremely comprehensive. He has answers to all queries in terms of problems and issues with the body and health. In the 2 months I have been training with Dave I have improved massively and now achieve exercises that on day 1 were impossible. Optimal fit training is hugely recommended! More...

I worked with Dave for six weeks in preparation for trials and he was fantastic in designing a specific programme to target areas for improvement after initial testing. Over the six weeks, I saw huge improvements in both how I felt and in my performance, which was helped by Dave’s commitment outside of the gym as well as during sessions. Dave helped with nutrition, home exercises and how to approach the trials and I therefore could not recommend Dave’s PT more!

Fitness has always been a priority of mine since I started playing rugby at the age of 12. Due to unforeseen circumstances I lost my way with fitness and sport. I asked Dave to help me out with my fitness and get me on the right path. His knowledge and dedication to his clients are second to none. If I need some advice I can contact him at anytime, If i need help, he is always there to push and motivate me to succeed. Dave has been a friend of mine now for 7 years and is one of the best PT's I know. I have played sport to a good standard and Dave is helping me to reach my full potential. Everything he does is tailored to personal needs/abilities and he will always push you to achieve what you thought you couldn't. In just 2/3 sessions he taught me the basic principles aswell as more refined techniques within Olympic lifting.

Whether it be weight loss, strength gains, Olympic or power lifting training or even nutritional advice Dave is the PT to see.

I could write a long list of my services and what I have done with my clients but to keep I'll keep it short. I show and give you the tools to not only achieve, but maintain a healthy lifestyle and body.
