Olivia Shakespear Nutrition
Neasden, Greater London, London
As a Nutritional Therapist I work with people to improve their health, whether they have an existing condition or just want to clean up their diet and have a general MOT!
Nutritional therapy is about getting to the root cause of a problem, rather than using a sticking plaster approach.
I use nutritional advice/diet plans, supplements and occasionally recommend tests, as a way of supporting you to a healthier body. Taking control of your diet isn’t always easy, but it’s definitely worth it. And it doesn’t always have to involve a radical overhaul – it’s incredible what a difference a few consistent changes can make!

One to one consultations - in person or via Skype/phone/email
I provide one to one consultations with clients who are able to see me at home, but also see many clients via Skype, phone and even through email. I am able to do home visits, if they are in the local area. I request that you complete a health questionnaire prior to your consultation, as I work holistically and like to get a picture of your overall health, rather than purely focussing on symptoms. I will provide you with 3-4 points to work on, and will also give you plenty of meal and snack ideas as well as any relevant educational material. I may also recommend supplements, and even some simple testing. However, although tests can be extremely beneficial, it is always possible to work around this. I usually recommend a follow-up within 4-6 weeks of your first appointment. This is to review where you are with your plan, and to continue to build in more recommendations. The number of appointments required will vary from one person to the next. If someone has had ongoing health problems for a while, then it might be that 4-6 appointments are necessary. However, other people may want a general MOT, and so an initial consultation with one follow-up is usually enough.
Weight Management Clients
For people wanting to reduce or manage their weight I see them for the standard initial consultation (as above), but I find that breaking up the follow-up appointment into 4 brief weekly catch ups tends to work best and enables people to keep on track more easily. After the first month or so, it may then only be necessary to meet once every 4-6 weeks.
From September 2015 to present.
I work as a nutritional therapist for Innergy Space, based in Camden. This is a joint venture, combining personalised exercise classes with a nutritional therapy program to improve your overall health and vitality.
From September 2007 to September 2014.
I worked as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS for a number of years. Working with a broad range of people, with chronic and acute conditions, including dementia, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke and other neurological conditions, has given me an in-depth knowledge of how poor health impacts life in many different ways. It has helped greatly with informing my nutritional therapy practice.
6 Week Weight Management Plan
This project is due to be completed by mid May 2016 and will be available via my website www.oliviashakespearnutrition.com. It includes a 6 week plan aimed at managing weight through education on what a truly nutritious diet consists of. My approach is based on a whole-food, nutrient-dense diet, rather than a calorie controlled plan. I also provide unlimited access via email over the 6 week period, should you have any questions.
