We would thoroughly recommend Olantigh dog training. Having attended from when Misty was a puppy and working through the classes bronze to gold. Also taking part in fun agility, tracking and working dog trials, as well as residential and 1-1 training where we were given really useful tips. Steve offers a comprehensive programme of training for dogs of all sizes. He obviously knows what he's doing. I have two Romanian rescue dogs - one 2 years old and one 6 months old. The 2 year old had become rather aggressive to other dogs, especially when the pup is near. After my 'one to one' today (my first) I feel that this behaviour can be stopped with the amazing training I was shown. Just completed an 8 week puppy class and really pleased with the progress that we have made. The first week was a little busy due to the number of puppies that attended, however following on from this an additional puppy class was arranged and the original class was divided between the two. The classes covered the basics of training - socialisation, attention/focus, sit, down, stay, recall, beginning of heel work, play and dog inspection. I found Steve and Sally very knowledable and their teaching easy to follow. Teaching was positive and reward based and my puppy responded well and is now happily and consistently following my commands. It been a delight to train my dog for the past five years with Sally and Steve.. Moving through puppy bronze, silver and gold and then onto working trials on a Saturday morning.

Second dog now just started puppy training at Hothfield and hopefully following the same path. Great opportunity to meet other dogs and owners in training and building confidence with essential social skills.

Would definitely have no hesitation in asking Sally and Steve regarding any training issues - they provide an essential service to the local community and long may they continue.. More...

We took our 8 month old Labrador puppy for a 1 on 1 lesson today at Olantigh. We wanted her to stop barking and showing aggression to other people and dogs whilst out walking. Within 15 mins of being there she was walking to heel. Within 30 mins she was no longer barking at the chickens and when introduced to another dog she sat and didn’t even grumble!

I thought it may took a few lessons to get to where we were when we left, it’s almost as if we have taken another dog she was just so well behaved!
