What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
In my experience there are several elements that contribute to taking a great photograph. Firstly, I think that you have to be prepared, plan for the shot and be ready to capture the small, imitable moments that are fleeting but perfectly capture the essence of your subject. I also think that having a good relationship with the subject you are photographing helps, you create a relaxed, comfortable environment to shoot in, greatly increasing your chances of your subject opening up.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Do you have any images in mind that you want you want your images to resemble. I am not advocating copying in any way whatsoever. But, I think that for clients its easier to have a visual example of how they want their images to look than trying to describe with words. What I would then do is collate dozens of other images that are similar and from there we would have a detailed discussion about what they like and don't like form amongst my reference images.
Other than that, the obvious questions would be 'When do you need them by?", "What is your budget?", "Where will they be used?"
What do you love most about your job?
The thing I love most about my job is the diversity of my projects. I could be shooting a family portrait session one day, followed by some product shots and then a wedding. I also love the technical aspects of my job. Lighting people, objects and spaces is a passion of mine.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I recently moved to the USA from London where I had a busy job with unsociable hours. When we moved here I became a full time dad until my son started school. I wanted to do something that I was passionate about but that also gave me the opportunity to be able to work around my children's needs. Going back to Photography put me back in touch with my roots and working for myself gave me a real sense of pride.

I am a normal guy who loves what he does. I am experienced, easy going and am only concerned with producing the highest quality images for my clients. Working for myself means I am only as good as my last job, so you can rest assured you will always receive the most professional service when working with me.
Corporate Headshots
Bespoke corporate headshots for small businesses or large corporations. My mobile studio can be set up at an office, in a conference room or at an event. Individual employees stand for between 10-30 mins depending on size of party or availability.
Family Portraits
Family y portrait sessions start at $125 p/h, with images priced based on amount purchased, you can view the brackets here: https://www.ojrtphotography.com/price-list. I work very closely with the family to ensure the desired result is achieved, this includes free consultations, reference imagery mood boards, location scouts, even meeting the family beforehand to foster familiarity for the shoot.
I'm flexible, willing to re-shoot/re-schedule or re-edit to guarantee customer satisfaction.
Children's Portraits
A slightly different service to family portraits, this is a more artistic approach to children's photography. I try to create something that will look beautiful on your wall in your home or office that is timeless. An artistic impression of your child that speaks to you and that fits within your home perfectly. Children sit individually, allowing me the time needed to really find the perfect moment that captures your child's personality.
I believe even though you are using lights and backdrops, as a photographer its my job to get your child to relax and open up, showing me who they really are. Allowing me to capture that 'candid' moment that every parent is searching for but in a situation that I can control, yielding the best results.
Videography
An experienced lighting cameraman, I also offer videography as an option for your project. I can cover events, shoot product imagery or even produce advertising or marketing material. Reasonable day rates and all 'RAW' Footage inclusive of service.
