Fantastic food in a outdoor setting. They do have indoor seating as well.
I came here with a whole group of other high school students today and we all enjoyed ourselves! Josette is an amazing chef, a brilliant host and has the cutest dogs on the planet. I can't wait for the next field trip that includes a visit here. We were all made to feel so welcome and it was just awesome. Thanks Josette for a great afternoon! More...
nourriture délicieuse!!! le chef est tellement sympathique et plein d'humour.Ok, I AM NOT a Francophone. I used Google translator. But the food here is authentic. I enjoyed Chef Josette and her staff. Such an inviting & vibrant atmosphere. Positively refreshing energy! You won't be disappointed.Quiche Lorraine, French Toast, Smoked Salmon with cream cheese, tomato and capers on Croissant was mouth watering. Apricot pastry and cranberry almond muffins, and macaroons to go!What are you waiting for... They have a Savory Lunch & Dinner Menu too. Enjoy! More...

good food, great service. Josette helps in service with our young people in the community too.
Buen trato. Y. Esquisita comida
Osman and his crew did such a great job on my 2 bedroom condo in Pleasanton. We had such a tough job, as there was so much dirt from our dog on both carpet and our couch. The couch now looks like new! Osman was very professional and timely, and took pride in his work. I found his rates to be very competitive. Thanks so much Osman! More...
Delicious food. Very fresh. High quality. Been going for 16 years.
I love this wonderful little French Bistro right in my neighborhood. The bakery is sinful. The food is quite good too.
everything is so yummy, but I'm partial to the charcuterie plate, Josie make the best pate!
Great place, and personalized service from her.She ignites the place with her presence.
Can't go to sf without stopping in for one (or 8!) kouign Amman's...just so amazingly delicious without being overpoweringly sweet. On our last visit we had the granola--WOW! I wish we had picked up 10 bags. We finished it within one day. So buttery and rich and decadent. Never thought I'd describe granola as such, lol More...
Better to go during the week rather than the weekend when it's common to find a line out the door. Parking is nearly impossible on a weekend also.
Had a very pleasant Saturday morning breakfast here, very laid back sidewalk cafe. Not fancy but good coffee and really enjoyed my salmon on croissant. Service was kind of slow - although we were the only diners the bakery counter was busy and they seemed understaffed to handle the volume. The pastries were passable but not as amazing as I hoped. I would def come back for coffee and breakfast though. More...
I love the delicious apple pie they sell in this place, the coffee is also very delicious and there is a good variety. The only disadvantage is that there is almost no place to sit and eat but you can take it home. the prices are a little high but they are worth it for the delicious desserts. More...
The food is amazing!
Food:4 Service:4My friend and I were celebrating the Holidays by going to lunch. The place was clean. The menu was quite extensive for a small place. There was something that most people could find. We had the hot vegetable/pesto sandwich suggested by the server and it was delicious. It came with small side salad with balsamic vinaigrette. Well done on that as the salad leaves were not soggy with too much dressing..... my friend had the tuna Niçoise salad and she enjoyed it as well. We sat inside as outside was a little too cold but the place is very cute. Will go back again to try other dishes. More...
We love this family owned bakery and have been going for years. They Everyone comes for the fresh baguettes, which are some of the best outside of France. They also have made to order sandwiches on baguettes that are absolutely tasty. The food leaves you satisfied without feeling stuffed - the portions are big! I personally have not visited the adjacent, bistro but my parents and kids love it. Very cozy. Anyone looking for decently priced french bread in the Los Angeles area, find your way to Normandie. It's got the authentic taste without the frou frou-ness of other french food places in the Los Angeles area. More...

Best baguettes on the planet. Great desserts and coffee also. It's my go-to on any given morning. I love the people who work there at the dtla location. It's fun and flavorful. Come by, you may get a chance to meet me. More...
Our book club enjoyed pastries and coffee at this neighborhood bakery and sidewalk cafe. The croissants were buttery and flaky. Our server was helpful and courteous. Parking was available on the street and in the store lot across the street. There was live music and train noise, but we were able to converse. I heard that the baguettes were not made on the premises and the wheat one that I took home was okay, but not stellar. Overall, a fun place to visit. More...
Best French bakery in Los Angeles! Their catering are fabulous!!! The croissants, the pastries are delicious! recommend it!!!! Oh and try the macarons!!
10 stars for the baked goods, 5 stars for the food from the kitchen. We sat on the patio, there was live music by Le French Toasts, it was a cute breakfast on a Saturday morning. I ordered a savory ham and cheese crepe with coffee. A nice crepe with thinly sliced ham and gooey cheese accompanied by a small salad and vinaigrette was tasty. However, the real standout was my Wife's smoked salmon croissant sandwich. The firm-but-oh-so-tender-crispy flakes of her croissant paired with the developed flavors of the smoked salmon ... capers ... tomato ... Homer Simpson drool ... *hhyuuuungggg!* I had about 3 cups of their coffee, man, it was good. It did not need any sugar or creamer and was a touch sweet to the taste. The chocolate croissant I had for breakfast-desert paired well with my 3rd cup, and was delightfully crispy and light with a smooth top. There is free parking across the street in the fenced lot. I'll be back again to get pastries and coffee. More...

This place was nice. I had the paprika chicken with potatoes, alittle in the dry side thou. My wife had the chicken w/ mushroom plate it was good, we both enjoyed a cafe lateand for desert we got a strawberry fruit tart and merengue, the fruit tart was delicious the merengue not so much it did not taste fresh the core was dry to the bone. We ate outside the ambiance was nice but there was alot of pesky flies. Service was ok and food wait time was about 20 minutes. Big plus looks like you can bring your own bottle and ask for cups, since they don't serve alcohol. Overall good experience. More...
I love the pate and cornichons sandwich. But I always overdo the shopping as there is not a bad morsel in the place. it's like visiting Paris.
Tastey food and nice staff!
OMG this place is delicious! And friendly, and adorable! The bite-sized fruit tart cup was outstanding and the perfect sise to satiate my craving. I also ordered a tuna sandwich and it was perfect-not too dry, and not too creamy. Will definitely return! More...

Awesome atmosphere, such a warm welcome. Josette est une perle!
Tucked away in between Jefferson and La Brea, this place is very charming right from when you step onto the property. My friend /coworker recommended we go here after our inspection because he said he used to work at this restaurant a long time ago. We both had the turkey sandwich with brie which was a great choice. Brie makes everything that much better. I also had the coconut cake which wasn't too sweet or overpowering in coconut flavor if you're into that kind of thing. When I am in the area again I'll definitely be coming back to try their other items. More...

Chef Josette’s French cuisine is top notch in every way! Chef Josette is also extremely charming & has the biggest heart, you will be very glad you discovered her, her delicious food & her divine French bistro in the heart of West Hollywood!
I have never been here before, but got a huge fruit and cream tart as a thank you gift. The person bought it for me, packed it on ice, and brought it from LA to the OC. It was really a beautiful work of art! I just wanted to look at it. I have never been a huge fruit tart fan, but as a gift I had to try it. I was so very impressed with this place. The tart was so good. The cream was light and sweet but not too much, the crust was perfect! It even had my name in gold edible paint! Who ever the pastry chef is, they definitely know how to make the perfect desert. The tart went fast and when I'm in LA, this place will be on my list. This desert is a 5 star french pastry! More...
The five star is just for the French bread. It is perfect. It is so good, they serve it at another restaurant in the area I go to. Way to go, delicious!
French steak sandwich! Love it. You should try it! Also don't forget to get your complimentary alkaline water, they're the best!
Love the chef's Bruno Amazing attitude! The breakfast sandwich is delicious. The atmosphere is old Parisian Cafe style. Love coming here!!!
Food always fresh and they have the best customer service. I am a new customer and will be back in the near future.
I just walked into Chef Josette's new place on Beverly drive and I love it. Food is great and she is amazing. Love her

I have only used Normandie Bakery for Sunday Breakfast DELIVERY. When LA was having all of those torrential rains in January and February 2017, and you didn't want to leave the house, Normandie Bakery Delivered...Literally. The food was amazing...My favorite is the Champagne Omelette with Bacon. Everything for breakfast is really good. I have not tried their lunch fare, but their Chocolate Ganache cake is out of this world. You will not be disappointed. P.S. my partner is French Canadian, and even he thinks the food is great. I drove many time by this place so today was the day to try it out.We ordered a couple of sandwiches and chicken in mushroom sauce. For my taste the sandwich just needed a bit of sauce or dressing to make it a bit moist. This through back Cafè is refreshing & delightful...the pastries are lite, buttery, delicious & the price is economical. But, the star here is the fresh coffee!!! I had the best cup of joe at "Normandie"! I'm going to miss coming in first thing in the AM & receiving that sweet cup of Java! The almond croissant and buttery croissants are everything...even though I'm sure the other treats are just as amazing. However, I am a true croissant and Java head! Great food. The coffee is superb! The service was very good considering they were training new servers.

I had a sandwich and dessert. Everything was delicious. Cute place. Indoor and outdoor seating. Very relaxing.

A friend of mine was invited to Paris to present a paper on James Baldwin. He needed money to complete the trip so we decided to help him out by having a fundraiser and we decided to do it with French Theme. Needed a place that had Quiche. Went to several supermarkets and no one had Quiche frozen or otherwise. Saw this place and ordered the Quiche Lorraine. Needless to say, there was nothing left at the end of the evening. People were looking for more. We decided to do it one more time and again the Quiche and the desserts (Apple Tart was as good as the one I had in Paris) we ordered were gone by the end of the evening. I had to hide mine or I would not have gotten any. Great food. More...

The lentil soup is amazing!!! Not to mention their delicious carrot cake
So I was planning my coworker, who was leaving our company to move back to France, a going away party and really wanted to find a great bakery to get a fruit tart from. This place was the perfect choice. I ended up going with a quarter-sheet fruit tart which the owner, who insisted on giving me some free gelato since it was my first time there, recommended. She was very sweet and very charismatic. When I picked up the fruit tart, I actually gasped when they opened the box, it was that beautiful. The fruit looked absolutely stunning and tasted unbelievable. The whole office loved it, and my coworker, who had high hopes for an authentic French fruit tart, was not disappointed. Looking forward to trying more things! More...

I love the unpretentious ambience at some street in the neighborhood. The coffee is good and the croissants among the best I had in the US.
This place is a hidden gem! Really good coffee and pastries. The seating is limited but The quality of the food is amazing! They also do catering for parties and Thanksgiving. I will be back here for sure! The prices are really reasonable.there is a large parking lot across the street that's free so there's ample parking. There's no place like this in this neighborhood it has the freshest bread but I've had anywhere in the city! The servers are helpful and seem to really know a lot about the ingredients in the food and how everything is prepared. More...
This is a really nice place to be in. A nice French Cafe with great bread, cakes and food.
Their croissants are amazing but sell out quickly so go early. They make a crushed apple puff pastry half moon shaped thing that isn't very sweet - lovely for breakfast. If you love a good tea sandwich they make brioche pullman loaves. Yes, they are pricey but also quite delicious. Call ahead because if I get in there before you I will have bought all of them. For the uninitiated a pullman loaf is a square loaf of bread with a fine texture that makes a heck'a cucumber sandwich. Make sure you get thin, not thick, sliced.i don't love the tarts and cakes but that's really not my favorite so I try not to judge. More...
The Hazel Nut cake is the business! And the chicken pâté is worth a return visit. The restaurant is clean and quiet and the parking is plentiful. The only drawback is they close at 5pm during the week and at 3pm on Sunday's. More...

I love this place for a few reasons. 1) The food is yummy. Portions are large and somewhat daunting, but make for great snacks later.2) The people who work here are always friendly, including Chez Josephine whenever she happens to pop in. I have only been to the bakery a handful of times, mostly for the baked goods. Over the weekend, I went there for a 10" fruit tart. I didn't see one at the counter, so I asked about it. The chef made one from scratch in 5 minutes. It looked and tasted amazing. I was very impressed with the customer service! More...
I've only been here twice and both times I got the same thing: cappuccino and quiche Lorraine. The service is quick and the bread and butter to nibble on before the meal is a nice touch. I've read people say the bread isn't like authentic French bread and having been to France several times, I would agree, but that doesn't mean it isn't good. I feel like France is the only place where you can get that perfect ratio of inner soft, chewy, dense bread to outer crunch perfection. Even when I lived in Germany we'd drive across the boarder just to get the baguette...it's just how things are and if it could be replicated everywhere it wouldn't be special, or encourage us to travel ;-)Since moving to Mid City, West Adams, this place near USC, or whatever the hell we call this neighborhood, I've been happy to have Normandie Bakery as an option. Come here, sit outside, eat a meal and drink your cappuccino slowly. Maybe the guys in the back will be speaking French, you'll have no idea what they are saying, and for a second, you can pretend you are somewhere else and sometimes that is nice.Oh, BTW, this cronut, croissant doughnut perversion of baked goods thing people are into, well, it's pretty tasty too...yes, I actually did the cheesy thing and ordered one and it was sweet deliciousness. By far the best baguette in Los Angeles and I adore the pate's! Merci beaucoup Chef Josette!!
It's right around the corner of where I live & I love to eat here. It's a bit pricey. But the fruit tarts and sandwiches say it why! They are just extremely Good !!
small, friendly little french cafe! macaroons are really yummy. I got a fruit tart for my sister birthday she loved it. recommend to anyone who wants to be some place quiet and enjoy a nice meal or dessert.
I love their breakfast omelets! I also like their cro-nuts and French steak sandwich! They omelet will come with a small spring salad (with vinaigrette dressing) on the side which I found a bit odd but overall was tasty. When I was young, my family would only buy the pastries and baguettes, but were glad they had started served food. I like the prices compared to Vees, it used to be a moderate price restaurant but they're more expensive than Normandie! (Not cool)Also a must are the macarons, ham and cheese crossaint, and the fruit tart. I always ask for the freshly baked and they will bring it from the back bakery. More...
One of LA's best bakeries, and a great spot for a sandwich. The viennoiserie is among the finest available, their best offerings being the chocolate croissant (pain au chocolate) and the vanilla twist. A very satisfying eggy brioche, too. I like their baguettes well enough to buy one whenever I'm there, although I must admit they could be more flavorful. If you've convinced yourself that the only "authentic" style for french baguettes and viennoiserie is the crispy flaky outside with fluffy airy inside paradigm, you'll be disappointed here. Normandie employs the chewier approach, both inside & out. The notion that this is inauthentic, though, is frankly absurd. And Normandie reveals the spectacular delectable heights of which the chewy school is capable.Normandie's approach to flavor is more on the bready side and less on the buttery, and they like granulated sugar. They've recently started offering a cronut style pastry, which is the only cronut I've found to be worth purchasing. It's very fluffy and chewy with some oil left in it from the deep-fry, and the crust is satisfyingly browned with an ample coating of crunchy granulated sugar. They have a simple menu of breakfasts and sandwiches featuring, of course, their own bread. The meats, eggs, mustard, and other ingredients are always fresh and high quality, which makes for a great meal every time. They also make their own pate which is excellent and is also available in a sandwich. Sometimes they are offering pre-wrapped (in paper) ham sandwiches at the pastry case. These are simply ham and butter on a baguette and are not to be passed up if you are lucky enough to come upon them. Heavenly! The menu fare overall is very light, so don't expect it to hold you over all day. Supplement it with plenty of pastries. The atmosphere is charming - a cute French style sidewalk cafe on a quiet, breezy, tree-lined street. Some interior seating has recently been added which I haven't yet tried (why abandon the sidewalk?). Street parking is usually easy to find except on street-sweeping days. To alleviate this problem they now seem to have arranged for their customers to be allowed to use the cash-&-carry parking lot across the street. The staff is consistently very nice and attentive, but the owner (Chef Josette - you can't miss her face on posters plastered all over the establishment) is always yelling at them as if they're incompetent. The same employees have been there for years, though, so I guess they all have an understanding. My only complaint is that they used to make what I considered to be the best lemon tart I've ever had, but now they ruin it by putting it in a chocolate crust with chocolate topping. Oh well, at least the fruit tart is still good. All in all this is an LA institution that remains, for some reason, largely unknown. I've been regularly patronizing this establishment longer than my relationship with nearly any other eatery in town, and they've never disappointed me. Never. Unless you arrive late in the afternoon after they've sold out of most of their pastries, but it's a real bakery, so what do you expect? Get there before noon for best results. Preferably even earlier if you're serious. More...

I used to go here for lunch when I had an office nearby. I stumbled upon it again for weekend brunch, and was happy with the boudin, salmon plate, salad and chicken crepe with bechamel sauce that satisfies! I rarely order bread or potatoes, but Josette's au gratin and croissants are great. I like a variety of food, and this place has a diverse menu that you will not find elsewhere. I did not see tofu- haha. REAL FOOD! that leaves you satiated, and not on a carbo rollercoaster. Also the service is great, but people who expect psychological counseling or a social relationship with their server may be disappointed. This is a FRENCH restaurant/ bakery. Enjoy! More...

I went and picked up the sample today and the presentation was fabulous and the food was delicious! The staff also gave me a free pack of macaroons after giving me one to sample!Customer service goes a LOOONG way and Chef Josette and her staff have just sealed the deal with me and will now become one of our preferred vendors for the medical center!!!P.S. had my first Cronut here and it was AMAZEBALLS!!!
