My children love the combo ballet/tap/tumbling class and hip hop class. They also attended the Michael Jackson dance camp last summer and have been really bummed that they have to wait a year to go again because they had so much fun! My daughter has attended class for about a month and absolutely loves it. It's a combination of tap, tumbling n ballet. I think the tap won her over when we were invited to " bring your friend day". Thanks Shannon :-)

My girls have been dancing here for almost 10 years now. My oldest started when she was 3 and will be 14 this year. My youngest is 3 and has been dancing since she wss 2. My 6 year old started at 2 as well. We love the family atmosphere at JWSD. The staff is always so caring and attentive to our girls. Contrary to what the first (only) reviewer said, one of the best dance schools in Austin area lead by a caring group of experienced dance professionals. Top notch instruction, one that builds teamwork and character, offers scholarships to those in need, very affordable, and has the best and most professional youth productions I've ever experienced. They are tough, and expect a lot out of the young dancers, but nothing a mother wouldn't expect out of their child. Ms Joyce was my Dance Teacher. To let U all know how long ago that was I'm 48 now My Lil Sister started out with me, she was 5 yrs old. She took Jazz, Tap, Ballet. I can remember her 1st Tap song "My Rubber Ducky" My Sister continue on, & went on to Be one of Body Talk 1st original group, from there Body Talk would dance for B 93 radio station, who called them B 93 Honey Bees. My 3 year old daughter is in the ballet/ tap/ tumbling class weekly. She is 3 classes in and so far I certainly recommend this studio! - based on the amazing friendliness of the teachers, their energy and their passion and love for dance and for the students - it really shines through in each and every part of the class! My daughter has been dancing at JWSD and part of Body Talk Dance company for the past 13 years and I love the programs.The dance training is amazing, from the nurturing toddler and preschool programs to the rigorous advanced classes. I am most pleased with values taught such as work-ethic, team work, commitment, setting goals, time management and self discipline. I also value manners and in an instant gratification world, I am so please to have my child in a program that encourages words such as "yes m'am" and "thank you." As my daughter approaches college in the next few years and I see what our high school aged kids are exposed to on a daily basis, friendships with peers that are making good life decisions has become priceless.I am grateful for the amazing role models she finds in the older dancers and teachers.
