i started with a 1 month trial membership , now after 2 years of being a member i can say that committing to classes and workshops under the supervision of my instructor has awakened my body natural healing system. 3 years ago i have lost my voice completely and was advised by 3 Meds to have a surgery to regain my voice back, i didn't. Instead i joined Namoo Yoga. I always though of Yoga as some stretches and meditation .. but not at this center . This is a healing Yoga center and im a live proof that Yoga works by helping your body correct and heal itself. Thank you Master Jason. And, yes this place is as clean as it could be, relaxing, peaceful, full of uplifting energy and most of all amazing amazing owner. More...

In the fall of 2015, I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure (HBP). At that time, I was referred to a cardiologist who placed me on a regiment of two (75mg) blood pressure (BP) pills per day and a reduced salt and sugar diet. I joined a fitness center and started working out. However, even though I lost a few pounds and took the BP pills my BP remained high. As a result, the cardiologist added an additional type of BP pill and instructed me to monitor my BP on a daily basis and keep a diary of the readings. (I was taking three BP pills per day) The additional pill created some physical problems; therefore, the cardiologist took me off that pill and increased the dosage of the original pill from two (75mgs) pills per day t two (100mg) pills per day. Since I am a person who do not like taking pills, I wanted to find a way to reduce my BP without taking pills. In June 2016, after having seen the Namoo Yoga Center on several occasions when I was in the area, I went in the Center and picked up a brochure. (From my research on HBP, I learned that yoga could reduce HBP) After browsing through the brochure, I went to the website and read the information about the Center and the reviews. Since this type of yoga was holistic yoga, I went to the Center, spoke to Jason (manager), and asked him to explain to me what this type of yoga entailed and how it differed from other types of yoga. I informed Jason that I had HBP, that I was taking BP pills and that I wanted to get off them. Jason patiently explained to me what holistic yoga was about and how one could learn to heal one’s self through this type of yoga. I subsequently signed up for holistic yoga on a temporary basis taking the holistic classes three days per week. The classes were difficult at first because I had not done the movements involved before and I was over very overweight and out of shape. However, after several weeks, the routine became easier and I began to feel better and more energetic. At the end of the trial period, I signed up for six months. During that period, I started feeling stronger, more energetic and my joints became more flexible. My family and former co-workers commented that I was looking more rested, that I had lost weight and that my body was looking more toned. On my next visit to the cardiologist, he saw much improvement in my BP and I informed him that I was taking yoga. He recommended that I continue taking yoga stating that; “Yoga is very good.” I then started going to the core strengthening and detox, tai chi and movement classes in addition to the holistic classes. I also decided to take the healing sessions with Jason twice a month. I continued to monitor my BP and my readings began consistently falling in a very healthy range. On my next trip to the cardiologist, I asked him about getting off the BP medication. First, he reduced my dosage from two (100mgs) pills per day to two (75mg) pills per day for several months, instructing me to continue monitoring my BP as previously. After several months on the lower dosage, the cardiologist then reduced my dosage to one (75) pill per day (half in the morning and half at night). At my next appointment, he agreed to take me off the medication completely on a trial basis. (My BP continues to remain in the normal range) At my most recent appointment with the cardiologist in late September 2018, he decided to leave me off the pill for the time being. Since my last appointment my readings have remained in the normal range. In fact, my last reading on October 16, 2018, was 120/71. Note: In addition to the reduction in my BP, I have lost over 25 pounds, have increased my flexibility to about where it was twenty years ago, have lots of energy and my memory is sharper. I attribute this improvement in my health to yoga, my great yoga instructor (Jason Moon) and my supportive cardiologist. More...

I love this gentle yoga exercise. The exercise starts with relaxing your head, shoulders, arms and feet. Then the exercise focuses on stomach, back bone. It strengthens the core, and leave body feeling strong and refreshed after the exercise. It gives me energy after I exercise although I am so tired after long working day at the office. It give relaxation, calm and refreshed my entire body and mind. My blood circulation works very well each day after you exercise. More...

Clean, welcoming, and effective was my initial assessment. I have thoroughly enjoyed the classes until an older American woman starting teaching some of the classes. Her personality does not fit the environment for those who come to meditate and focus on mindfulness. She is rough, very bossy, and this detracts from the peaceful time I usually enjoy while being there. I wish that there was a schedule posted on who teaches what course. I'd love to return. More...

As an overweight, out-of-shape 64 year old who had never taken a yoga class, I joined Namoo in October 2016. It is the best thing I have ever done for myself! I have gained flexibility, better balance, and a new outlook on life. The instructor, Jason, is unbelievably kind, knowledgeable, and gifted. I had daily shoulder pain due to bone spurs, torn rotator cuff, and arthritis, but Jason was able to alleviate the arthritis pain using acupressure. My shoulder pain no longer wakes me up during the night. I was very skeptical that the acupressure would help, but am now a firm believer. Do yourself a favor, and try a class! You will not be disappointed. More...

Despite my longtime skepticism of yoga’s benefits, I joined Namoo Yoga for the first time on the last week of 2016, hoping to ease the chronic back pain I’ve have for years. Within 2.5 months, 5 hours/week , I can function much better without the ugly nagging pain, have a better posture, and feel stronger. The unexpected yet amazing other results occurred that changes my perspective forever. I lost 8 pounds, the 7- year-old diabetics is under control without medication, the unwanted high blood pressure is stable, my memory improves. Before giving credit to yoga practicing, I took a COMPLETE health check-up; all the tests came back as a clean bill of health. Namoo yoga with its unique techniques combine stretching, breathing meditation, Tai-chi and energy movement is a perfect antidote to my chaotic mind, busy stressful life and aging body. Under the directing of Master Moon and his wonderful staff, the loving and positive environment has empowered everyone in its embrace, the classes become my daily routine because rather than succumbing to illnesses and medication, I choose to live a healthy and happy life. Wouldn’t you do the same? Join this journey with me and find out for yourself. More...

I joined the Centreville studio in March of 2011, and as I said in class so many times, it was one of the best things I ever did for myself. When I joined, I was, for many reasons, overwhelmed with anxiety and knew I needed guidance to get back on a path to peace and happiness. Dahn Yoga practices and Yun were my answers. Yun is one of the most genuine and humble persons I know. He takes the time to know each member and understand their concerns in order to better help them with their journey to become stronger physically, mentally and emotionally. After a short while of attending classes, I started feeling like a "new" person, couldn't wait to go to class and learned how to incorporate what I learned in class to help me deal with my stress on a daily basis. Remembering to breathe...REALLY breathe was key for me. All of the instructors are so great, bringing their own individuality and energy to each class. At the end of each, I always felt stronger and energized physically and refreshed and calmer mentally. So, if you're looking for a nonjudgmental friendly place to become physically stronger and better deal with stress and anxiety, Body and Brain in Centreville is the place for you. You won't regret it. More...

After spending only 2 months at Body & Brain, the changes and benefits I have experienced in my life have been truly amazing. Here you will find the teachings of Dahn yoga, which is a unique practice in the way that it combines yogic postures with a mixture of tai-chi, breathwork, rhythmic dancing, and meditation. The emphasis is ultimately on training your brain to operate at different frequencies and using it to heal the body. There is a real sense of community among the members that attend regularly, all of whom know each other by name. For me, the Body & Brain center has become a source of motivation to make myself and my life better each day through even the smallest actions. Master Yun is a humble teacher who gives himself fully to each student, often spending time speaking with them one-on-one about their own progress. Words can't really describe how much it means to be surrounded by people who are determined to heal their lives. Whether you are looking for a journey inside of yourself, or to simply release the stress and tension of everyday life, the opportunity is there waiting at Body & Brain. More...
