With just one foot in the door, we knew we had happened on a wonderful culinary adventure.  The delicious aromas of Indian spices and grilled meats greeted us with open arms on a weekday early evening dinner date.  The server made some suggestions, at our request, helping us to navigate the sizable menu of Indian and Nepalese entrees. We settled on Lamb Vindaloo, a typically fiery dish of tender lamb chunks in a brown sauce with potatoes  and Chicken Tikka Masala.  Each was spiced to order with a 1 to 10 heat scale and served with a bowl of steaming white rice and plenty of ice water for drinking. We ordered two of the wonderful Indian breads to accompany our meals, naan stuffed with cheese and a whole wheat deep fried bread, poori.  Hot tea, Indian style with milk and sugar rounded out the meal.  The food was delicious and the server was friendly and efficient.  The restaurant is easy to miss, nestled in one of the multitude of nondescript retail centers along Dixie Highway in Fairfield.  Get your Google maps on and make it a point to visit soon.  Dinner date set us back about $40 plus tip.  Not a cheap date but a memorable one! What a gem!! I'm planning on a trip to Nepal this year so we started looking at local Nepalese restaurants on yelp and came across this one. We usually go to ethnic restaurants with very low expectations on their decor and service to avoid disappointment but we were pleasantly surprised from the moment we walked in thru the double doors all the way to walking out! Their ambience is clean and modern, their food is amazing (spice level 6) and service was simply delightful! We had Sukuty Sadheko, steamed chicken momo, chicken sekuwa & chicken biryani. Every one of them was delicious! The momos were really fresh. The ginger on the Sakuwa (kebab) adds tad bit zip! Our fave was the Sukuty Sadheko!! But if you don't like gamey meat, you may not appreciate it much! Dilli Acharya (the owner) and his wife/chef Radhika treated us very nicely! She even brought us some Daal as complementary dish and it was absolute best! Also the fact that they have a nice variety of liquor and wines is added plus! This place was fantastic! A hidden gem. The inside is beautiful and the service was five star. We tried the chicken momos based on other reviews and they were wonderful. My son had Chicken Tikka Masala and my husband had Lamb Saag- both cleaned their plates. There wasn't any food left when we were finished.
