Although I am not a student myself (yet), my husband and daughter are. They both love their drum lessons with Kim and Mikey and Mia loves her piano lessons with Jules. They both played in the last “A night at the muuvies “ which was a fantastic couple of nights celebrating the students achievements. They not only received praise from their teachers but from all the teachers, it’s a cliche but it is like being part of a family. Everyone one of the teachers knows all the students, not just their own. Fantastic! if you or your child wants to learn to play a musical instrument or sing I would highly recommend joining Music Workshop Bath. You want regret it! More...

Well.. where to start! Music workshop is simply FANTASTIC. ALL of whom I have had the pleasure of spending any time with from this wonderful school of music have been so positive, so energetic and SO full of love for what they do that one cannot help but leave feeling energised and ready for anything! If you choose to develop your musical skills with Music Workshop... I can assure you.. you will not look back. I have been singing with Lee Risdale, one of the incredible teachers at Music Workshop. His teaching skills are outstanding.. he has really helped me grow. Having had confidence issues myself I set myself a challenge, with the hope of building my inner strength... to do the one thing that I have been most afraid of for as long as I can remember... to stand on stage and perform. . . Solo. A couple of weeks ago I did just that and could not believe how easy everyone made it, how comfortable I felt. Kim has worked hard to put together this 'dream team' of brilliant teachers who have built this wonderful environment which gives creatives a place for their minds to thrive and their dreams to grow.Another of the great teachers is Dan. Dan did an INCREDIBLE job on the concert. He is a machine. So gifted. Amazing. My son has drum and guitar lessons here and absolutely loves it. Kim (drums) and Dan (guitars) really inspires him and we never have to nag him to do his practice. We have moved a lot and experienced many different music tutors. When we discovered Music Workshop, we soon realised these teachers were in a different league! Their joy of music shines through, and it is catching! For all of them, this is far more than just a job. They have given our daughter patience, understanding, true inspiration and fun, fun, fun! Music workshop has provided my son with not only a fantastic teacher, Kim, teaching my son with enthusiasm and support, but also opportunities to perform in a fun environment. He has been with music workshop for 8 years and during that time his drumming has not only improved taking his grades but he has a passion for drumming that has filtered down from Kim and everyone who works at music workshop. He's leaving now to go to University and is sad to finish for the time being, however, I know he will always be welcome and will definitely Stay in touch. I'm learning to play the mandolin with Dan, having had a (nearly) 40 year break from playing any instruments. He's a talented musician in his own right but has a great understanding of what it's like to be a beginner and guides with a balance of techniques, theory and encouragement. I'm progressing all the time, enjoy practicing at home and look forward to the lesson. I would recommend Dan without hesitation.Our 6 year old is learning to play the ukulele. She's made steady progress over the months she's been attending lessons and enjoys learning the different pieces of music. I really like how Dan accepts the rate of progress she makes and is able to gauge when to move her onto another level. He is completely unfazed by her 6 year old quirkiness and mixes fun and theory to get the best out of her. Again I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dan if you are thinking of music lessons for your child. More...

For any parent, or anyone at all frankly, looking for a music teacher in Bath - STOP! You have, without a doubt, reached your destination: Music Workshop and it's teachers, Kim, Katie and Dan provide a teaching experience like no other. Not only are they generous, enthusiastic, passionate, hard-working music teachers and, dedicated musicians in their own right. They are also the most lovely, open, funny, kind and brilliant teachers giving children, teenagers and adults a most unique gift: a love of music, delivered with simplicity, an understanding of modern music (and teenage tastes), enthusiasm and a true sense of what making music is all about: joy. I have been having monthly lessons with Kim here for 3 years and love it! I was a little nervous initially as a middle-aged ex-singer, that I would struggle to learn drums, as much as I wanted to. Kim is a fantastic teacher, who made me feel totally at home and excited about playing within 20 minutes of lesson 1. His musicality is exceptional, and he has a great way of finding many ways to communicate a concept to help them sink in.
