I advertised a job online to remove bathroom tile grout, fix a kitchen light fitting and secure a curtain pole in the living room.
The jobs looked OK but the curtain pole wasn't secure, the builder said he would be back to sort it later in the week.
After several attempts to contact him over the last 6 months, this has still yet to be fixed. This seems unfair when I have paid for work that has not been completed.
The grout in the shower returned after a couple of months, so he basically just cleaned it and did nothing to prevent it from returning.
The light fixture is completely broken, so I can no longer use this light in the kitchen.
I have contacted the builder on several occasions, to be fobbed off with I will call you when I am passing. I am still waiting for my work to be completed and I am in the process of selling my apartment.
I have never had work done on my home before so I don't understand warranty and guarantee with regards to what has been done. However I feel the work completed should at least be finished correctly and not cause more damage or the problems not be fixed altogether. Now I have a higher cost in getting the things sorted as the builder no longer returns calls or messages.
Do you want someone to run away from a problem or do you want security that your things will be fixed correctly?
My advice, if you want the latter then go with someone else. More...
