After 24 years of back pain, went to see Mr Sutcliffe on a recommendation. He was incredibly kind and helpful, sorted me out an MRI despite having an air gun pellet in my neck (when everyone else said it was impossible) and then introduced me to the spectacularly brilliant physio Rachel Dodgson. Not only the best physio I've ever seen, but since seeing her and starting the exercises, have had a pain-free back for the first time in a long time. I consider myself very fortunate to have received the care of the team led by Mr John Sutcliffe at the London Spine Clinic. My symptoms were not the most complex nor the most basic, however every angle was explored before surgery became necessary. In reaching that decision I had full access to the full team of clinicians in the form of a case review, the options and inevitable risks discussed before arriving at the selected course of surgery.The information base upon which the decision was made could not have been more complete, hence I was as confident as one could be pre-op. The decompression surgery proved to be completely successful in releaving me of all pain, discomfort and restricted movement, and allowing me to return to competitive sport. John Sutcliffe performed my lumbar L5/S1 disc replacement (M6) in 2013. Before the surgery I wasn't able to tie my own shoelaces. The surgery changed my life and I have since been able to return to competitive sport at an international level. The level of service at the London Spine Clinic was far better than I could have ever expected.
