Paul and the team did a loft conversion for us in Chiswick in 2017. As this was our first house, we had no experience of taking on such a large project - thankfully their experience and guidance made the experience very smooth.

We used Modern Attics for our loft conversion a few years ago, which was a really good experience. The building team were there every day exactly when they said they would be, they worked hard and were very considerate of the fact we were still living in the house, always leaving everything clean and tidy at the end of the day. Paul was easy to work with and kept in good contact throughout the whole project. He was flexible and resourceful in finding ways to ensure we got the height we needed. We are really pleased with the outcome and a few estate agents commented that it was one of the best loft extensions they'd seen! Recently we decided not to move house (hence the estate agents) and embarked on a rear extension. We naturally turned to Modern Attics again, who gave us a competitive quote. The work was substantial and very disruptive but we managed to stay quite comfortably in the house the whole time (with two small children!) due to our builders going out of their way to accommodate us. They paid so much thought to how they went about everything in order to inconvenience us as little as possible. Paul was again attentive and flexible. The whole experience with Modern attics from inception to job completion was very positive I will try to summarise this below:-

February: Modern attics invited around to quote
Quote was very competitive and having seen the work done on another house on our road we decided to go ahead and use Modern Attics for our proposed Loft conversion
May: Job started
Pre-Commencement meeting with Paul and Virgil who was to be the builder in charge of the project several points were discussed relating to scaffolding and general things to think about, we were made to feel very comfortable with the whole process that was about to begin
May-July: Job in process
Virgil and his team of builders were very knowledgeable, hardworking and respectful in regards to working in a house that was still being lived in. During the day it was mainly my wife and two small children who were at home and the builders were very good in advising at what points it would be best for my family not to be at home (opening of the ceiling/installation of the staircase was the main thing). However, for much of the job the builders had minimal impact on how my wife/children could use the house which was something my wife especially had been worrying about
There were regular informal meetings between all parties to make sure the build was going ahead as we wanted (for example where wall partitions should go/where the lights should be put/how big the bathroom should be etc)
The finished loft conversion surpassed our expectations and after the decorators had finished my wife and myself moved up into the room that would be our new bedroom. We also decided to put both a lounge area into the room which when combined with the en-suite bathroom (with hydrotherapic bath) and an zero noise fridge would result in a living space which was everything we had dreamed about. Having lived in this space for a couple of months now I can say it is the most amazing space and every night on my return home from work I endeavour to move upstairs to the Loft space as quickly as possible. The new loft room provides a new level of relaxation after a hard day at work and just looking at the clean lines in the room, perfectly plastered walls and the view from the huge velux windows and large Juliet balcony provides a calming and soothing experience

Comments from friends and family are always the same with words/phrases such as “beautiful”, “spacious”, ”great views” with many people saying it is the best loft conversion they have seen

In summary we are very happy to have come across Modern Attics for our Loft Conversion and their team of builders who created a Room that has changed the way we live our life’s it goes without saying that I would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody who is looking to do a loft conversion

Modern Attics were the first of 6 loft extension companies we invited to quote for our loft extension. They won because they were thoroughly professional, friendly and competitively priced. Paul, the co-owner is honest, helpful and very easy to work with and the building team he uses headed up by Aman are superb - respectful and friendly, they turn up at 8am, 6 days a week and working tirelessly through to 6pm, every day.

Throughout Paul was easily accessible and always ready to help resolve any minor issues that arose. Furthermore, there was never any suggestion that the original quote we were given would creep up at all (as has been our experience with other builders) - the amount quoted by Paul was precisely what we paid in the end.

In addition, the advice he and his work partner Jeff gave us about design elements such as bathroom layout, electrical points etc proved invaluable. As a result of this and the whole team's excellent performance throughout, the final loft conversion really is of excellent quality - we couldn't be happier and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Modern Attics or use them in the future for any additional extension works.

I invited in Modern Attics to quote for our loft conversion in June 2013 and I found Paul's approach to be honest and professional and he clearly had many years experience in this field. He explained in great detail what we needed to do to achieve our objectives. As his quote was realistic and we had seen some other local conversions that Modern Attics had completed we had no hesitation in choosing them to build our loft.Modern Attics started work on our loft conversion in September and all I can say is it was a very pleasurable experience. Paul and Jeff were on hand daily to deal with any queries I had and took regular visits to the site to check on the progress of all works. My team of builders were very punctual, considerate, friendly and most importantly very very tidy. The work was completed on time and within budget and I am delighted with the results. The space created has changed our whole way of living in our house and the rest of the family are also happy with their new found space. I was considering having a loft conversion for a very long time but at the same time was concerned about finding the right contractor to do a professional job.

My cousin who is a property maintenance manager recommended Modern Attics after meeting Paul and seeing his work first hand. At the same time I obtained quotes from other reputable companies.

I decided to go with Modern Attics after meeting Paul and his builder and seeing his work first hand. I have no regrets with my decision. Paul was very hands on, patient and professional, even down to the last few snagging’s which were dealt with immediately and without fuss. As a qualified Surveyor, Paul went out of his way to ensure the work at each stage was done to our satisfaction before payment.

Our loft was done when it was raining heavily and constantly but no issues arose and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Paul and his team.

We extended our house with a loft conversion in 2011. We took a number of quotes from various companies in London and were most impressed by Paul and the Modern Attics team, particularly in their design input to make best use of the space. We were not disappointed when the job got underway as Paul and his building team worked incredibly hard, overcame any problems that arose during the build and brought the loft conversion in on time (7 weeks) and on budget.

It was really reassuring having Paul and his team oversee the project as their experience and professionalism was obvious throughout.

After deciding that a loft conversion was the best option to extend our NW2 home, we embarked on a search for the best company for the job. Extensive research followed and after meeting with a number of different companies we decided on Modern Attics. Part of our decision was made based upon visits to homes that Modern Attics had worked on and each of those references was full of praise for the company.

When it came to our own loft conversion, we were thrilled with the results. Paul and his team were very professional and extremely helpful and polite. The team of builders worked incredibly hard and always cleaned up after finishing for the day. We needed extra space in our home in N20 and the only way forward was to do a loft conversion. We had been highly recommended to contact Modern Attics and we are delighted with the outcome.
