Attending the Directors and Actors Challenge was hands-down one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve always dreamed of being an actor, and MMTB has made that dream come true. Who would’ve thought that an actual legit film studio would be here in little old Rodeo? Thank you MMTB for this amazing experience, and you best believe I’ll be there at the next event! More...

I jjust participated in my first MMTB production. It was a delightful group of people to work with and even though I only had a small role since I was only there for one day, everyone treated me well. Elena is a wonderful director who works with a great balance of structure and improvising off the script. Now that I've checked out the website, I love the generosity of this organization, giving so many people a chance to contribute their skills and learn on the job. More...

MMTB tries its best to offer every service that a person could ask for. There are always short film challenges, feature length films, writer's challenges and now there's even a music video challenge being launched. MMTB also goes out of its way to make itself as accessible to everybody as possible. If someone doesn't have a way to get to a location (of which there are many) then a carpool can be set up. There are fees involved but nobody would consider them unfair so in any case it shouldn't be too much of a barrier for somebody. And then there's the films themselves. I always get a friendly environment whenever I go there and there's undeniable talent and passion from everybody who participates. The films I have been involved with thus far have had an incredible amount of variety and originality. A lot of these filmmakers know what they're doing. And then these films are shown in a theater so everybody can see what kind of worthwhile talent can be found all over the bay area. A friend told me about MMTB and I'm glad she did because I was looking for a way to keep my passion for acting consistent. Whenever I have the time I don't mind participating with these fine folks. MMTB is for everybody. More...

Gone 2x so forth. 1 Rodeo, and 1 in SF. Its nice to see how films can be made WITHOUT traveling to hollywood or waiting on a role as an extra.

I have been involved in many of the events, from the film challenges, to the mixers, award ceremonies, and film festivals since 2010. Elena and everybody involved are great people, and that is the number one thing for me. MMTB has become a place where professionals and striving artists, veterans who are savvy in the field or begginners, students attending to learn and master a craft, to band together, collaborate, and create art. It is a judgment free, extremely supportive environment. If you are, or know someone who enjoys to have fun, yearns to learn all the aspects of a craft, earn an extensive networking base, and most importantly, meet and make lifelong friends, then MMTB is the place for you. I've been a member since 2010, the rest is history... More...

Even though I was already making movies in my country before I moved to the Bay Area, #MMTB has allowed me to practice my craft on a continuous basis and in a friendly environment. I have already made over 10 movies with them. Every experience is unique: you get to work with different actors, directors, writer and crews. Sometimes the director already has a storyline, sometimes the whole team pitches in to create a story. In all cases, you get to practice and complete a project in one day and you can see your film within a few months (I have waited years to be able to see some of the movies I made before MMTB... I am still waiting for at least one of them), while adding experience and credits to your resume. You also get to network with many talented film professionals and enthusiasts who have projects of their own. I am much more comfortable now in front of a camera due to the possibility of confronting it so often. I am so happy that I found MMTB!!! More...

I have been on Elena's email list for a couple of years now but haven't done a shoot. I went to their screening last year and really enjoyed the films and how MMTB has evolved through out the years. The Saturday shoot was my first time. I had a great experience. I did pitch in $10 for food and brought some tea stuff as well. They give a real feel of what doing an all day shoot is like. How to go with the flow, be in the moment, it's all the real life skills an actor needs to build their craft on how to behave on set. You'd be surprised that some people just don't know what to do. Definitely will plan to attend more. More...

Had SO much fun last Saturday at the MMTB Make A Film In A Day Challenge! I have participated in many events since August of 2016. In that time I have had an opportunity to be part of five completed film shorts as DP. One is playing at the Oakland International Film Festival. I have had fun each time, met people who have similar interests and developed new skills along with contacts and friends. MMTB offers a unique opportunity to work in collaboration with others who bring their talent, ideas and experience to share with others. If you show up and give your best, you will gain much. MMTB is a Godsend I was going nowhere in my aspiring career after I finished my no-budget short movie in 2013 until I found out about MMTB and finally decided to join in early 2014 Over the course of that year I had a blast meeting people, talented actors and most importantly learning the grueling process of filmmaking, regardless of the project's length I heard a few times that MMTB's founder Elena Altman had a tough time running MMTB for the last five years and as a entrepreneur I understand that but I'm so glad she didn't give up Elena deserves more credit that I know she gets I owe a mountain of gratitude to Elena and what MMTB has done for me I learned so much and I recommend MMTB to anyone who needs hands on experience so they can take their craft to the next level
