I definitely recommend Martin as a coach, he has made me a stronger, better and quicker runner helping me to achieve PBs in many distances, some of those were on easy paced training runs too.

Can’t recommend Martin as a running coach highly enough! I’ve been training with him (virtually rather than in person) for just 5 months and have a new PB at every distance including nearly 40 mins off my marathon time. I’m officially faster in my 40s than I was in my 20s, and I enjoy running so much more now. Everything he advises me is evidence based, he can explain reasons behind his training programs and always has a good answer my endless questions..... I’m now working towards a GFA time at London and 6 months ago I wouldn’t have even dreamt of setting that as a goal. Truly life changing - thank you Martin. More...

MH Health & Fitness provided consultation to me in relation to hydration and nutrition questions I had ahead of this years London Marathon. The advice I received was a game changer and the first time that carb loading and fluid intake ahead of a Marathon had been put to me in such simple and understandable terms. I was provided with a meal and hydration plan to follow in the week leading up to the Marathon with meals and snack schedules that were realistic and achievable given that I work long days with a long commute to and from work. I’m not the fastest runner but I managed to knock 49 minutes off my PB this year so thank you! Would highly recommend. More...

I enlisted the help of Martin to write me a training plan for running the London marathon. Before I started my training plan, I had a one on one conversation with Martin about where I was with my fitness, my aims and end goals for the marathon and my availability for training days Once I commenced my training plan, every month I received a tailored program for the month ahead. From my feedback on each training session, and by reviewing my strava, I received weekly detailed feedback from Martin which was a great aide for keeping me motivated during the training. Martin was available for extra questions and support whenever I needed it. Thanks to the training program written, I was achieving PBs at races throughout my training as well as achieving my end target of completing the London Marathon in a time that I never thought was achievable for me. Martin is a genius. Or magic. One or the other :) Seriously, I can't recommend Martin enough. I had a strange idea that I might be able to achieve a Good For Age time at Vienna Marathon, and Martin gave me the belief, the tools, and the confidence (not to mention the speed) to not only achieve that time, but smash it by 9 minutes. He understands that my time to train is limited, given my busy family and work schedule, and the training plan was entirely suited to meet these needs. He helped me get through an injury that laid me out for 3 weeks, despite my confidence crisis and insistence that it would stop me achieving my goal. I even thought the carb loading was a bit crazy. But, he is right about everything! Trust Martin is my new motto! A genuinely nice guy, really supports you and understands what is going on in your head as well as your legs. And really wants you to do well. Thank you Martin, you helped me achieve what I didn't really think I could - and got me to enjoy it at the same time. More...

I started running in 2011 and have since completed many half and seven full marathons. Within the last six months Martin has helped me to achieve PBs in both the half (by over 5 minutes) and the full distance (by 11 minutes). I got back into running in September 2016 and did my first half marathon in March 2017. In May 2017 I started my PT sessions with Martin and started to improve my running and got stronger and fitter. I went on to get PB’s in my half marathon’s. Leicester HM I knocked off 8 mins and have continued to get PB’s at races too. My biggest challenge was my first Marathon in Manchester in 2018. I achieved my biggest goal with Martin’s coaching. He is an excellent Personal Trainer/ Coach,he is very supportive, patient, knowledgeable and an expert in marathon training His guidance on nutrition and pacing really helped towards achieving my set goal. I now will be working with Martin on my next goal and looking forward to see how I continue to get faster and stronger. I've just completed an eight week small group training course which catered for differing levels of runners. It was delivered with professionalism and humour which made it enjoyable. Martin is extremely knowledgable and encouraging. He knows how to motivate and encourages achievable targets. I would highly recommend him, whether a new or experienced runner, Martin will help you improve your technique and get you running faster and stronger. More...

I first got in touch with Martin Hulbert after a brief discussion on facebook about a lower back problem that I was / am suffering with. I had been to see a Doctor about it and had also had some sports massage done and the conclusion was that I potentially had a weak core which was leading in turn to my back being under too much strain while running. Martin is a very active and valued member of the Leicester Running community so I had no hesitation when deciding to arrange to see him about my issues and he was and continues to be extremely friendly, honest and dedicated through the entire process. In my very first session with Martin it was clear that he absolutely knew what he was talking about and he was able to tell from my posture and my areas of weakness that I obviously spend a lot of time at work sitting. Prior to my session Martin had clearly researched a very large number of exercises that would target the areas of my body that need strengthening, he then demonstrated them to me and watched me perform them to ensure that I was doing them all safely. The entire time Martin was keen to make sure that I listened to my body during the exercises and my ongoing recovery. It has only been a couple of weeks since I began working with Martin but I can already feel a clear improvement, my core feels stronger, my legs feel stronger, my glutes are clearly being used more now whereas before I think they were essentially dormant! As a result of this I have been able to complete my first couple of runs in several months and I can once again see a future where I can run without issue and this is in very large part due to Martin's help. I would have no hesitation in recommending Martin to anyone considering enlisting the help of a personal trainer or running buddy, More...
