We were so fortunate to find Captain Stu thru Trip Advisor.  Our mother passed away in Florida earlier this year, but due to family scheduling conflicts we couldn't release Mom's ashes at that time.  As Mom loved Atlantic City, and a majority of our family still resides in NJ, we thought scattering Mom in your beloved second home in Atlantic City would be appropriate.Captain Stu quickly responded to our initial email, and was always available for questions and quick with a suggestion.  His website is very informative and offers options for readings and for the release itself.As our group was to numerous for the Metamorphosis, the Captain secured a larger vessel that comfortably accommodated all of us.  Captain Tom of the T Wrecks was just as welcoming and responsive as Captain Stu.Flowers, music and cold drinks were provided.  Though the water was a bit choppy departing the Basin, we enjoyed the excursion knowing the Captains were knowledgeable and well prepared.We would highly recommend Metamorphosis Boat Charters for any boating needs. A wonderful ceremony with Captain Stu for saying goodbye to my Mom. Music played on the boat ride out, a poem recited as we scattered my Mom's ashes, and flowers to place in the water as we said goodbye. We then went past my mom's residence and back up along the Atlantic City coastline, while Captain Stu shared a history of Atlantic City, the piers, and the casinos, something my mom loved. When Eleanor passed away in August 2015 she requested that her ashes be scattered half in the Pacific and half in the Atlantic. The Pacific half was completed in July 2016 off Crystal Cove. Earlier this month, the Atlantic ashes were scattered off Atlantic City, NJ using the Services of Captain Stu of the Metamorphosis. A group of 13 participated with half on the boat and half on shore. I first contacted Captain Stu in the August of 2015, but had to cancel. For the next year he consistently kept in touch with me, and finally, on June 12, 2016, our double ash scattering for our beloved family members was a bitter sweet moment. However, because of Captain Stu's compassion our hearts are still smiling. He provided an excellent service. He was polite, professional, and made certain that we all felt secure while on the water.

He's able to adapt to the different cultures of his clients. In our case, one of our family members practiced Hindu religion and wanted to be buried in the Ganges River. We brought our guru with us on the boat and he performed prayers. With the wonderful ambiance of Captain Stu's boat on the water, it felt as if each ripple of the ocean waves spanned the whole globe.

He's also a skilled conversationalist. His story about how he started his business was touching, and he possesses an impressive knowledge of the history of Atlantic City. He clearly enjoys his job. I would swiftly recommend his service to anyone who has ashes they'd like to scatter. More...

We just returned from a weekend in AC to fulfill my parents final wishes to have their ashes scattered. Capt. Stu and his crew on the Metamorphosis were amazing and made it a very peaceful and rewarding experience. Capt. Booked a tour of the AC shoreline for my hubby and his friends 2 in 1 Father's Day and birthday celebration. Captain Stu was very professional and showed us a great time. The guys totally enjoyed the boat ride and Captain Stu and his crew were very nice and gave us a great tour and history of AC. We all had a fabulous time. It's actually been just four years - July 14th, 2012, when we went out with Captain Stu and fulfilled my father's wish, that his ashes be scattered at sea. An Atlantic City or Ventnor resident most of his life, he had worked in radio, and was an announcer at WFPG in the 50s. Captain Stu was amazing - compassionate, confident, and even helped my husband get over his fear of small boats...

Spent a wonderful day fishing on the Metamorphosis. Captain Stu was perfect. He helped the novice fisherman like me (he saw I was struggling with hooking the minnows for bait and he jumped to the rescue), but let the experienced fishermen do their own thing. He helped select the proper tackle from his impressive selection of rods and reels and made sure our rig was perfect for the conditions. When the novice fisherman caught fish (of which there were many because Capt. Stu had the locations of various fish-laden wrecks pre-programmed into the ships computer) he helped get them off the hook for us without making us feel like a bunch of rookies. Knowing Capt. Stu is a commercially-rated captain made me feel secure we would safely get home from our trip and gave me confidence that even my land-lubber wife and daughters would enjoy a future trip to the ocean on the spotlessly clean Metamorphosis. The only downside of the day was that it happened so late in the year that we will have to wait until next season to go out on another trip with Captain Stu. More...

An amazing experience with Metamorphosis and Captain Stewart Rosen! Captain Stu recently escorted me and my team on a 22.5 mile circumnavigation swim around Absecon Island (Atlantic City .) I have done swims like this all over the world but the professionalism, dedication, commitment and skill that Captain showed during this trip was beyond anything I have ever experienced. The boat is gorgeous and well equipped, and every detail including some complex navigation was taken care of in a very thoughtful way. We went out on the Metamorphosis for a memorial scattering of my uncle's ashes and it was a wonderful experience.Captain Stu is a great guy- calm, friendly and compassionate, and the boat is very comfortable. He played our choice of music, provided beautiful roses for the scattering, and read "A Sailor's Prayer for Burial at Sea" for my uncle who was a Navy vet. We also had the wonderful surprise of seeing several dolphins on the way back. Captain Stu was great! It's been about six years since we memoralized my aunt in the ocean off NJ. Captain Stu made a difficult time much easier for her siblings and me. I share the experience often, especially the Dolphins that appeared to guide her home. I know Captain Stu didn't foresee that, but memorable! I am a member If the US Air Force and I have been trying to nail down a date with Capt Stu for some time now.We finally got a date set and, wow. I mean WOW, am I glad we did this. He took us on a three hour tour, and what an experience. I always go to the shore with my wife and kids but to experience it in this manner was relaxing and great. My kids had a great time and my wife was extremely exited. This was an early mother's day gift to her.
Capt Stu was great as well. His patience and knowledge of the area was amazing and very entertaining.
If you are thinking about planning a trip with this company, do it. You will not regret it!!!

We hired Metamorphosis for a burial at sea. Captain Stu was amazing! He was in contact with me before the day we set sail to ensure a great experience. He performed the service exactly the way we wanted. The certificate with the coordinates was beautiful and even sent 2 extras. On the way back in, he provided some interesting history about Atlantic City that we would never have know. I hope everyone uses them! He's funny, friendly and kind. We surprised my father for his birthday and Chartered with Captain Stu. Our time with him was forever memorable! You are so personable, patient, knowledgable and truly catered to our needs. You made us feel very safe and comfortable on the Charter with you. We were able to bring on the boat our own charcuterie platter paired with wine to celebrate the occasion. Captain Stu helped me make my mom's burial at sea possible. After a very difficult month spent in Florida with my mom at her home in hospice, she lost her battle with cancer. I received my mom's ashes after returning to my home in Pennsylvania and held on to them for almost a year as I struggled to find a time to bring my family back down to Florida to spread my mom's ashes at sea. Captain Stu helped make her wishes for an at-sea burial possible in New Jersey. He was wonderful, kind and helpful from beginning to end. If only I took my dramamine the entire day would have been absolutely perfect! Other than that, I wouldn't have changed a thing about the at-sea burial on the Metamorphosis. Cpt Stu was highly recommended by a fellow captain who was booked for the timeslot I wanted for a co-ed bachelor party cruise. His website gives plenty of info to feel comfortable with what to expect on the cruise and spells out pricing. Cpt Stu was very responsive, attentive and professional. He gave us tips on where to park and met us outside of the marina. My group had a blast cruising to our own music while sipping adult beverages. We were even given interesting insight on some history of A.C. We went out with Captain Stu for a memorial scattering of my Uncle's ashes. From the very first phone call with Stu I knew we were in capable, compassionate hands. The boat is clean and comfortable with a bathroom available and Stu also had a small fridge with beverages. On the trip out to the scattering site and back, he played our choice of music. He provided beautiful roses for the scattering, and also read "A Burial at Sea Prayer for a Sailor" since my uncle was a Navy vet (He has a selection of readings available if you would like to choose one). We had the wonderful surprise of spotting several dolphins on our trip back. Stu's manner is calm and friendly and he strikes just the right balance- recognizing the emotional weight of the experience while also helping to make it a true celebration of life. My aunt also very much enjoyed his stories of old Atlantic City since she and my uncle had spent many happy times there together. Captain Stu was amazing! From the day we spoke to book the charter to the day of, he was available to answer any questions. The boat is perfect- clean, comfortable, and inviting. We did a 3-hour sunset cruise and it was exhilarating to be out on the ocean- gliding over the swells- and cruising up the back bay.
