I am a documentary wedding photographer. I approach weddings, not by the standard ‘by-the-numbers’ contrived manner of wedding photography, but with an aim to simply record what I see before me. It’s what ‘reportage’ is meant to mean. No constant setup shots or interventions by the photographer. The photography should reflect the day, not impose upon it.

I was so pleased to come across Martin’s website - photography was a real priority for us when planning the wedding. I knew I didn’t want lots of posed shots and Martin’s type of photography looked perfect. From the start he has been great at communicating and giving helpful suggestions. On the day we hardly noticed he was there, the cameras really are silent! We are so happy with the stunning photos which capture all the emotion of the day and plenty of moments we didn’t see ourselves. We strongly recommend Martin. He is highly professional - organised, a clear communicator and ever-reassuring on the day. His photographs captured our day beautifully, despite all sorts of lighting and weather challenges . Alongside the ‘big moments’, he is uniquely skilled in being able to see and capture the ‘behind the scenes’ action - guests laughing together, children creating their own games - which builds a really rich narrative of the whole day, and everyone involved. Terrific. A visionary at his craft. We wanted candid shots that documented the wedding day in an authentic way - and we got it. I also requested for lots of shots of our guests because that was important to us as a couple (besides, how many shots do we actually need of ourselves anyway?!) and Martin listened to us and delivered. Loved loved loved the images of loved ones that came back (the ones of us weren't too shoddy either!!) and we now have so images that we'll treasure for the rest of our lives.
