As professional counselors, our goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life.
By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Every client is unique and our approach varies depending on the needs of that individual. We believe that the most important factor of successful treatment is not theory or technique, but the quality of the relationship between client and therapist. We believe in focusing on “what works” to help our clients make progress and move toward a healthy and happy life. We are trained in several types of therapeutic interventions and find that using a mixture of these interventions work extremely well. Our style is compassionate and authentic. We play an active role in therapy and believe in gently challenging clients in both thoughts and behaviors. We will provide a safe environment and a non-judgmental ear for you to explore your life and its infinite possibilities.

only my first session and I already feel so comfortable talking to Maria, her office is very welcoming. looking forward to speaking to her more
Maria's office is very welcoming she makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. I feel she is easy to confide in, and she helps you sort through this thing called life! Glad I found her.
I have been going to Maria for counseling services for over a year now. I've recommended her to friends and family because I am truly satisfied with her services. She is down to earth, provides great techniques and advise to improve your quality of life. She is punctual. She doesn't take time from your session to talk about insurance as others counselors do. She usually will take 5 extra minutes after your visit. She recently moved to the 79th location and her offices are beautifully decorated. You feel calm just walking in. I love the assortment of teas she provides and I've made it my routine to first get a cup before anything else. Since her expansion she has had to hire more staff. A friend of mine sees the other counselor and loves her too. Note:When you get off the elevator her office door is the first one you see but it will be closed. You can take a seat on the couches in the waiting area. She will open the door once it's time for your appointment. This ensures a quiet and uninterrupted time for each session. More...

I love her she’s the best ! & has helped me so much .. I would definitely recommend her to anyone in need of someone to talk to
I've been seeing Maria for 8 yrs on & off. Maria is amazing!!! She is very professional yet genuinely caring. She brings comfort, as if you're talking to your best friend. She listens, expresses concerns, challenges you on your thought process. She's funny at appropriate times, provides hugs when needed & will let you know if something needs to be addressed. She is down to earth and does not act above you. She treats all her clients with individual, unique ways because we all are different. She will challenge you with homework of journaling, reading books..helping you reach your goals in therapy. Or if you just want to have a session to verbally spew and leave, she will be your sounding board. Her office is calming, sprinkled with cheerfulness. Essential oils waltz in the cozy office to the soft glow of a rainbow in motion. There are seating options in her office so you feel comfortable. Baskets holding many treasures of fidget toys that stretch, slime, spin, & click. Coffee, tea, hot cocoa, water (honey, creamer, sugar, Splenda) & little munchie snacks awaiting to aid in your comfort. The office homes many dolls, animal figures, toy vehicles, blocks, puzzles, sand stations, art supplies for young child to express through play. She has guided me after my divorce, through unhealthy relationships, anxiety attacks at work, a broken heart. She has opened my eyes to my thinking and how to manage my thoughts / my reactions. I refer Maria to anyone I cross paths with that are in need of therapy..... I believe in Maria and her professional ability to help others. Maria has seen my daughter at age 5-6 yrs old. Assisting her with breathing techniques, helping her conquer separation anxiety, minor behavioral issues and dealing with issues at school. YES.....clicks already beginning in kindergarten. She has provided tools to my BF and myself to grow together in a healthy way. Maria has assisted many people close to me and others not as close I referred. Having the tools to better ones self, is a gift that keeps giving. We all have issues. Maria is that person that can provide the right tools to heal & grow. More...
