How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
The property owner needs to check with their local authority if there property meets certain planning criteria. Properties usually with permitted rights have more flexibility in regards to planning as they are able to build within certain restrictions without the consent for planning permission. If the properties falls within a conservation area or place of outstanding natural beauty then planning permission is most likely to be sort.

Building control - The application for building control ensures your project is built by competent builders and up to industry standards.
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
The height within the loft space needs to be 2.3m or more from the top of the ceiling rafters to the underbelly of the ridge. If sufficient height is not available then the option to drop the current ceiling levels is the another way. In some London areas properties are allowed to apply for planning permission to raise the ridge height of the building to allow for more head height to be achieved.
