While I did not board my animal here, I posted up at this business during Imelda to wait out the flood waters. The staff was exceptional and super caring. I had my dog with me and they let me bring her in and offered her food and water. Hell, they even gave me food and water. If I do ever need to board my dog, I will definitely be coming here! I’ve been taking dogs to Man’s Best Friend for over 20 years. Remarkably, they have all liked going so much that they get very excited when we arrive at their door. My current dog spent 3 1/2 months being boarded after Hurricane Harvey and she considers MBF her home away from home. Sometimes I wonder if she likes Brenda more than me. My dog is more anxious than most & I was nervous about enrolling her in doggie daycare, but MBF has really helped her blossom! She started off a wreck and leaving her was hard that first day, but over the past 2 months she's gotten into a groove with these friendly folks! Brenda at the front desk took the time to figure out my dog's quirks, which visibly made her a lot more comfortable with the new situation. I love getting a very tired dog back at the end of the day! Mandy trained our pet, Ranger. It is a decision we will never regret. The training is worth every penny. We went to dog day at the Astros game this past weekend. We had him in a sit stay command, a couple of dogs walked by and aggressively went at him while the pet owners pulled their dogs back. Ranger did not move except for a slight crinkle in his nose just in case. The training they have given him is exceptional. MBF has turned out to be a great adventure. I’ve taken dogs to MBF in the past for the two-week obedience training but I never went back on a regular basis until I bought Diesel. I purchased him because he was already registered in your protection program. I’ve always dreamed of having a protection dog.After all my years of knowing MBF! Not only was I anxious to see and experience a new adventure. I was happy to learn that Diesels original trainer worked there. I was never lucky enough to have that perfect dog to take me on that adventure.I explained to Mandy that I might be buying the wrong dog. I feared that Diesel wasn’t that perfect dog. Well, here I am 5 months later, leaving a long overdue review. Everybody at this location has made my adventure turn out great. But with the results of what Mandy has shown me about Diesel. Man’s best friend is awesome from boarding to training and everything inbetween. Mandy trained our lab-shepherd mix when he was a puppy. Beforehand he didn’t walk on a leash, jumped on people, and didn’t follow commands. After training he could do all of these things. We plan to take our new rescue dog for training with her. In addition, we’ve had great experiences with boarding and Brenda is the best when calling to schedule or ask questions. If you are looking for a place for training or boarding, do not hesitate! we were moving from a house to an apartment. our dog had severe leash reactivity. we took him in and got an evaluation, we decide to do the ella program and drop him off. within that two weeks we noticed a great change in behavior and more respect for us. the ella program gets you free follow up lessons, we go every weekend to keep us fresh and learn more skills. this has been one of the best things i could have ever done for my dog. i highly recommend mandy, as she really understands the dogs and can you help you through training. My wife and I were nervous about dropping our Patty, a shy 10 month old rescue we had only had for a month, off for boarding, but after speaking with Brenda at drop-off we felt really reassured that she was in safe hands. Brenda explained that how they would try out playcation and give her the best chance to succeed. She went above and beyond to make sure Patty was comfortable and calm. When we called to check-in on Patty a couple of days later, they were super kind and happy to give us an update. We took our two dogs in for grooming for the first time and it was by far one of the easiest experiences with the greatest service! Everyone who works there is very friendly and you can tell they are all true dog lovers. Prices were very reasonable and our pups were in and out in less then 2 hours. We love Man’s Best Friend! Our Heidi is a strong willed German Shepard. She stayed with Jerry for two weeks in May of 2018. We come in periodically for touch-up training more for ourselves than her. It is important to remember that training has to be continued throughout the dog’s life. They don’t just come out perfect forever. When we follow the rules, she does too! We had tried multiple trainers in the first couple of years of her life, and this has been the most effective. I wish we had just started here! More...
