Our experience working with Kevin was an absolute pleasure from beginning to end! Since we were long distance, we met with him several times over video chat to discuss the details of our big day. Kevin guided us through the process of selecting music for all of the big moments and offered suggestions if we were not quite sure of something. He was extremely knowledgeable about music from every genre and it showed the night of our reception. Kevin kept the dance floor packed all night long and knew what to play at every moment. Steve did an amazing job as the DJ at our wedding. He met with us more than once to discuss our ideas and shared his ideas with us when we asked for his advice. He listened and followed through with all the plans we made. On the day of our wedding he was very attentive to every detail and even caught a mistake the coordinator at the venue had made. THE BEST! It’s not often you hear that a bride books her wedding around a DJ’s availability. Well Kevin from Make a Mark Events is just that freakin good and I could not imagine our day being half as fun with anyone else. His professionalism and perfect planning of the entire day literally saved our dumb behinds because we had no idea what we were doing. We even threw a few curve balls at him the day of and he handled it in stride as if nothing had changed. The music he played from start to finish was absolutely perfect and his MC skills are incredible. Kevin was the DJ at our wedding just a few weeks ago and we couldn’t be more happy with that decision!! Right from the first phone call with Kevin he was so organized and then about a month before the wedding he drove over 2 hours to us just to go over everything and finalize details and meet face to face. That was a really nice gesture and really helped put my mind at ease in the stress leading up to the wedding! Right after we met him in person we knew we made the right decision in hiring him. He has such a fun personality but is also very professional! He controlled the entire flow of the evening from ceremony, cocktail hour, entrances, first dances, speeches, cake cutting and then getting the dance floor going for the entire night! He is so organized and was right on schedule with our timeline. He nailed it with every song he played and he was such an amazing addition to our wedding!! We can’t say enough great things about our wedding DJ Kevin Markey. Kevin was responsive, accommodative and professional. He came to our house twice to make sure he had all of the details perfect . He is thorough and has unique ideas to keep the crowd involved from cocktail hour until the last song. Our ceremony/reception was over 7 hours long and the dance floor was always full! I'll start off my review by saying Kevin Markey from Make a Mark Events is an amazing DJ. You should absolutely hire him. To me, one of the most important components of a wedding is the DJ . They control the flow of the wedding, the energy, and the mood. You need someone who is charismatic, organized, and can mix songs fluidly. Kevin exceeds in all of these areas. He showed himself to be a professional throughout the process. He listened to our opinions on how we wanted our wedding, while also providing recommendations and useful tips. He stayed organized using a form in which he filled in the blanks for our wedding, spelling all our party members' names phonetically, so everyone's name was pronounced perfectly. As for the music, it was fantastic. He listened to our preferences, while also keeping the dance floor packed the entire night. We received several remarks from guests about how great the DJ was after the party. Lastly, the day of the event, he showed up on time and with all his equipment. At that point, he needed very little guidance from us, since everything was worked out in advance. We had the pleasure of having Steve DJ our wedding in Rhode Island last November. The before-hand planning was simple, we met face to face. Steve listened, and gave great recommendations for both the ceremony and reception.The way he accommodated our eclectic style was combining a classic vibe with club bangers that kept the dance floor full the whole night. Some aspects of our wedding were DIY, so having Steve's professionalism and insight were paramount to the success of our event. Steve coordinated with the venue, and not only was the first person there the day of, he was set up before anyone else arrived. Kevin was the DJ for our big day and we couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome. People danced all night and everyone was having an awesome time, even the people in our families who typically don’t dance! !! Kevin Markey with Make A Mark Events did my wedding last weekend, 9/8/2018 at Publick House Historic Inn in Sturbridge, MA. I had initially contacted him via Facebook back in January to inquire. He responded in a punctual, enthusiastic and informative manner. Kevin was accommodating throughout the entire planning as my husband and I live in FL. We spoke on the phone, FaceTimed, texted and emailed. Kevin remained professional and helpful during every encounter. Kevin suggested things for the wedding that alleviated stress- he emailed us a list of song ideas for the ceremony and introductions, which we took full advantage of. Kevin also suggested things to make the wedding fun and unique- Bride and Groom Trivia. Kevin even created our own version of our First Dance song. We emailed him a couple different versions of the song and he meshed them together exactly how we wanted. At the wedding, Kevin presented himself the same ways he did during all the planning- professional and diligent. He did everything he promised and kept my guests, and my husband and I entertained. Kevin is not only an extremely talented musical artist, but also a performer and an entertainer. It’s obvious that he’s passionate about what he does and really cares about making your event special. Kevin Markey, hands down, is the greatest DJ in the business. He met with my husband and I on multiple occasions to make sure all of our details were set in stone. My father and I were doing a funny dance to two different songs and Kevin meshed both songs together with some extra dj sound effects mixed in to make for an even better show. Not only did Kevin play great music and keep the dance floor going all night, he also helped us direct the entire flow of our wedding, making it smooth and seamless for everyone. I first met Kevin at a bridal expo. He was one of the MCs for the show and I knew I wanted to chat with him about our wedding right away. We chatted for a few minutes and he took my information and told me he would get back to me within a few days… and he did! That in and of itself was a sigh of relief. Anyways, a few weeks later Kevin met me and my (now) husband about 2 hours away from his house, but right down the street from ours. From the get go I knew he was our DJ. He would reach out from time to time reminding me what songs we still had to choose and making sure he had everything we needed to make our wedding amazing. I didn’t really have a clear direction for him in terms of the music I wanted at the wedding- other than a few specific songs I needed to hear, and some I wanted nothing to do with. Kevin hit the mark with all of the songs. From playing some oldies but goodies in the beginning of the night for the older generation, to some jams to get the party started on the dance floor.
