I discovered Blue Lotus on Houzz and loved the fact that she was local, and that she'd worked on projects with a wide range of budgets. We hit it off from the outset, and my husband-- who's an engineer-- loved the fact that Tracy could answer all his structural questions with confidence. This was our first time hiring out a major project, and our kitchen had ever been updated, so it was a big deal for us!

Tracy was great to work with because she set clear expectations around our project from the beginning. For example, I appreciated getting a lot of details and projections before I even contracted to work with her. There was absolutely no pressure to rush into a partnership, even though she'd done lots of work on drawing elevations, etc. She helped us by recommending a contractor, and once we got started all the fun began. What could have been a painful process was made enjoyable by Tracy's expertise and knowledge. She was able to tell me exactly where to go for our countertops, our tiles, our appliances (even names of recommended sales managers), websites for different components, etc. She was also hugely respectful of our tight budget, and found creative way to give us the design we wanted within our price range. I cannot speak more highly about the cabinets, and I'm so glad we went with the bold 'Moody Blue' and the honey bronze hardware. We also got to work with Giancarla from Blue Lotus, and she was so helpful when it came to finishing the kitchen with the right lighting fixture and paint colors. Our custom design can also accommodate the incorporation of more cabinetry in the future, which we love. I can't wait to work with Tracy again, and I've already recommended her to a few friends! I selected Tracy to help me design the entire first floor of my home including the kitchen and powder room after years of research trying to find the right fit. After reading about Tracy and seeing her great work online, I remembered that I had met Tracy at a local fair years earlier and that I was so impressed with her down to earth attitude and her vast knowledge of entire build, construction and design field, which is a unique combination of attributes to have as a designer. Not only did her vast knowledge in kitchen and bath design help me create my dream but her constant encouragement and willingness to help me with every stressful aspect of the design and construction process led me to make decisions that were truly mine and within the realm of possibility for me. I cannot express how happy I am with the final product but with how much fun we had throughout a process that can be so stressful and that is because of her ability to make everything so easy! Tracy did a wonderful job. I chose her because I wanted to feel confident I would have a great product at the end. I redid a kitchen, redid two bathrooms, floors, and took out a wall. I appreciated Tracy’s understanding of what I was looking for, knowing when to firmly advocate for things, and knowing when to let my influence fly. We bought an OLD house and have since discovered a number of challenges. After meeting with dozens of electricians, painters, interior decorators, builders, and contractors, I found Tracy at Blue Lotus after seeing a kitchen she had done here on Houzz. Tracy has been the most helpful and honest person we've met with! She tries to understand her clients and their needs and works collaboratively to achieve that vision. We were so pleased with Tracy's work on our kitchen in 2014, we enthusiastically engaged her services to redo our master bath. There were two problems with the existing space: it was long and cavernous and the decor screamed 1985. Traci addressed the first by enlarging the shower and suggesting a chandelier to lower the ceiling. We replaced the unused Jacuzzi with a soaking tub, then updated the cabinets adding gorgeous Carrera marble counters. Her design sense is impeccable, responsive to our needs. She is always full of good ideas we'd never have considered with amazing results. Her project management is efficient, so the process was a lot less onerous than we expected. We've worked with several web design firms and Lumber.Press was definitively the most talented, competent and thorough. The scope of work was followed, timelines were met, budget was not exceeded. Throughout the process Lumber.Press took a holistic approach, examining our current site to determine best approach for updating/modifying our site. They provided us options with explanation, so we could make informed decisions. I was referred to Kevin at Lumber Press. He's amazing! He is really honest and doesn't take advantage. Kevin is beyond knowledgeable so is able to work really fast, and he also responds very promptly when you need help, either helping you immediately or within 24 hours. I love how he teaches me how to manage, create, and adjust in my own website so I'm not dependent on anyone. He truly goes above and beyond with his time and help. We have been going through different stages of remodeling our home and have dealt with many contractors. Our bathroom was finally finished and we sought out bids from shower door companies. We wanted a frameless shower door for our 6 foot long newly constructed shower. We had a few companies send their representatives, take measurements and send in their prices. One never even bothered. I contacted Chris the owner of Uncle Bob's and he spent so much time with me over the phone teaching me the nuances and definitions of words I never heard before. Installing shower doors I learned was not as easy as I thought..Chris came out to our house, took measurements and told us something about our future shower door construction that not one of the other contractors did. After doing some due diligence he was correct and if I went with the other contractors I would sooner or later have been in trouble with the installation. He sent us his quote which was extremely fair. His wife Cindy who I talked to when he was out of the office was also very helpful and such a wonderful person to talk to. Chris spent the most time with us of all the contractors in measuring our space and explaining the process and helping us pick out the appropriate hardware. Not one contractor bothered talking over the phone with us as Chris did. He for lack of a better term is a perfectionist and spent more time measuring and checking our walls, etc. A few days later he had  a question about a minor measurement  and drove the one hour to make sure it was the correct measurement. I chose Uncle Bob's becuase they are in business for a very long time which meant they must be doing great work and also the professionalism shown to me by him and Cindy before we even agreed to have them do the installation. Jake and Jon the installers arrived at the time we were told, which we found to be rare among the contractors we were dealing with. They were extremely courteous, very attentive to what they were doing, answered all questions, gave us instructions as to how to take care of the new installation and even gave us a squeegee. They were a pleasure to have in our home. Not only did they leave the bathroom in an immaculate condition but they left us with the feeling that we wished more contractors would have been as nice and respectful to us and our home as they were. Excellent experience and we now have a beautiful master bath. Everyone we dealt with at UBGM was friendly and really customer focused. The team who did the installation was quick and very clean. Everyone we have shown our shower too has loved it! The glass really makes our bathroom look larger. We got great value for our money and we know we have added value to our home as well. Amazing Company and Amazing people. I had a break and they threw a rock thru my window. I did not want to board up the window and leave it like that while I took it to a hardware store to get fixed, nor did I want to drag a broken window into my car. They came out measured in minutes and within a few weeks they installed the new glass perfectly right at my home and within minutes. Highly recommend this company! More...
