When I first became a yoga teacher, images from someone who understands not only the practice but the aesthetics of a pose were invaluable to work with.
Eager to work with him I pushed myself into new comfort zones because of his encouragement and openness to collaboration.
I've made no secret to Joe that looking back on these images about 4 years later, I see flaws in my practice. I see the person I was 4 years ago, and I see the beauty in those flaws and the person that my practice was reflecting. Now I have images that I once saw as the highest of achievements and now can fondly look back upon them as benchmarks, moments in time that encapsulate who I was, what my practice was.
Your practice is never completed. I spent so much time thinking when this or that was perfected then would be the time to have some new images done.
Now I have art created with one of the most brilliant eyes of our time, that tells me a story of myself spanning half a decade. The time is always right to start and continue recording the story of your life.
Joe Longo is one of the best at providing that service.
