Attended for a diving experience for the 1st time ever. Did my group session with Taryn. She was excellent and very patience. There were 8 of us which was a bit much for 1 trainer considering we all had different levels of confidence. I will definitely attend again once im more confident with my swimming. Wonderful experience. It was my First time scuba diving. Absolutely a great feeling and clear instruction prior to diving. It took me some time to get breathing under water due to my anxiety which is very normal. But at the end I managed. Beautiful and wonderful experience. Instructor Jeff was great and very supportive. Went there with my daughter on a Friday night. It was good to see other kids around her age too participating in these types of activities rather than playing games on the tablet all night long. My husband and I completed both parts of our OWD course with LSD (Part B this past weekend) and can honestly state that every instructor and LSD member we encountered were a perfect balance of friendliness, sincerity, fun and professionalism and made a pursuit that I thought I never ever wanted to do into possibly one, that I might not ever be able to do without. Particular mention has to go to Andy (and Tina) who was able to allay my fears caused by the prospect of being immersed in several metres of water, simply through his calm and measured nature and precise and clear instructions.Such was his level of unassuming self assurance as an instructor that even after waking in the middle of the night terrified by thoughts of submerging myself in a murky lake and, after momentarily panicking during an exercise on day one that had me believing I was right, this really isn't for me, I ended day two 10.5 metres below surface thinking what a marvellous and magnificent place I was experiencing ... The sense of tranquility didn't last since my lack of proficiency in remaining neutrally buoyant caused me to ascend and descend my way eventually to the surface of the lake. Disappointed that my newest adventure was over but with a growing desire for more (Fanjove Island in Oct.) I have already started planning my Advanced Open Water course in Malta (March) - thanks Tina! - followed by a further dive in Tahiti (May). I know this is a long and windy review compared to most but, I wanted to give an honest and personal account of my experience doing the OWD course with LSD and my very short journey, just in case anyone with similar fears reads this and feels even a little more confident to have a go, because honestly, if I can do it, anyone can. A fantastic experience!I learned so much in such a short time. You start the evening learning the safety protocols, the gear and a short quiz. After that its straight down to the pool, where you will be guided through putting on your gear, how to breath properly and in my case how to sink .Being in such small groups is really good, as you get to have more time to learn, have fun, meet new people and everyone helps each other out.Once under water you're free to play around and swim and just take in the experience, which is amazing.Our instructor Elsayed welcomed us all and made sure we were all comfortable throughout which made it so much easier to understand and enjoy.I will be following up with a PADI course in the near future and look forward to LSD helping me to achieve this certification.Ben. Staff at LSD is extremely supportive and encouraging. I've done my PADI Open Water certification with them, pool session in July was led by Hetty and I very much enjoyed being in a warm pool and having time to repeat every skill to be confident. Wraysbury lake dives were challenging due to close to none visibility but having fantastic instructors Geoff and Elsayed looking after our small group of four (five on Sunday), we managed, braved silly weather and had two days of great fun, learning and sharpening previously gained skills. So I am going backpacking soon and wanted to do some scuba but was unsure if I wanted to do it before so I can enjoy it more and take my time and also know that their safety is top priority . after looking around I found LSD who are very local to me and thought I would give them a trySo I first went to LSD back in October last year when I found out they had a free open day to come try diving for free so I and 3 family members went down to give it a go. It was so much fun and very professional staff I knew that I had to do my PADI with them and booked it on the spot. Fast forward to April I had finally had time to start working on my eLearning and booked both my Part A and B to do in the same week. So for Part A, I did one of their evening classes and it was just me and another pupil who was doing a refresher course and I had the wonderful instructor Cat. The 5 hours flew by as it was so easy to lean in these small groups and was very fun. Now for the seriously fun part Part B the open water part :) so I went to the centre early Saturday and was happy to find out I had Cat as my instructor again and she kindly gave me the mask and BCD I had used early that week to uses over the next 2 days. so I got the rest of my kit all crated up and load into the van as I don't drive I needed a left this was easily done and got a left from an another student.So we arrived at Wraysbury and began to unload and kit up. as we had a few last minutes drop out it was me, another student, Cat and two dive masters so it was very personal. so one the first dive after jumping in sadly the other student wasn't comfortable with the 7mm plus 2mm wetsuit and called the dive and plans to come back in the summer( i hope you do as you will have a great time)so on the first day, it was me Cat and two DM can't get any more personal than that and we flew through all the drill and skills. on the second day it was just me and cat for the first dive and on my last dive as I had completed all my skill and there was nothing else to do cat teamed me up with two Club LSD member who was there on a trip and I did my first proper dive of the sight what was super fun. so for anyone thinking of getting there PADI this is the centre to uses and i will defiantly be back to do some more courses with them :) More...

I've just finished my PADI Rescue course with LSD and the whole thing was brilliant. Possibly the best part was the ratio of pupils to staff members - there were 7 of us taking part, with 4 dive instructors/dive masters, which really made all the difference! I was able to thoroughly learn all the skills needed and really feel that it was a much more in depth experience having so much contact with my instructor. I have done my IDC with them and they were excellent. LSD focuses on ensuring that you become a great instructor as well as how to handle all the challenges of the IE. I also did my DM and Nitrox course and my daughter did the PADI Seal Team course with LSD which she loved; she is now moving into OW course. My daughter and I did our Rescue Diver course with LDS over the past weekend. In deciding to do the course, I emailed to ask some questions which were answered promptly and enrolling was easy. The theory modules are PADI eLearning and we received links to those within an hour. The main part of the course though is the practical dives which we did in drysuits at Wraysbury. Andy, our instructor, was great and he was assisted by Julian and Tom and the three of them provided a fantastic course. The skills are serious but the learning was fun and the feedback was always appropriate and helpful. We left as better divers with far more knowledge not only from the course work but also the knowledge from years of experience that our instructors shared with us.
