My husband and I knew that we wanted to work with Shawn when we saw him at a bridal show and he never tried to "sell" us. He was very laid back from the moment we met him and was genuinely interested in our story and the possibility of helping tell it . This first impression ended up carrying through the entire planning process and wedding day. Shawn made sure to understand what was important to us and get a feel for our personalities to know how to work with us. It can be pretty odd to think of someone recording you all day on your wedding, but Shawn felt like another friend there who was happy to be there. His assistant (didn't get his name) was just as much of a pleasure to work with and have around on our wedding day. Shawn genuinely enjoyed the moments that he was capturing and was good at giving us just enough input so we could still be natural and he could get the shots he thought would look best and mean the most to us. He was even great dealing with our guests and interacting with them to make them feel comfortable, and entertaining them with his camera stabilizer when they were on the dance floor. We don't have our footage yet, and he has been extremely flexible in providing guidance to us post-wedding! I am having a family member edit our wedding film and he's given us direction on hard drive selection and is giving us options for best delivery methods. More...

Nice golf course as long as you hit it pretty straight. Not long but it's tricky. Give yourself a couple of getting to know you round before you think about scoring. Fairways are tight, ball sits up but don't hit it fat :).Definitely want uphill putts, greens have a lot of break. All in all a good test of your skills and consistency. Can smack driver and play aggressive or hit irons off the tee for placement and safety. More...

My wife and I were married at Mt Woodson Castle in December 2018. This review will focus on the castle as a venue - I will review the catering and wedding coordination (which was excellent) in a review of Personal Touch Dining. Mt Woodson Castle was the perfect place for our wedding. We fell in love with the oak tree ceremony site and the breathtaking views of Mt Woodson. We had our wedding in December and experienced ideal weather. While we got a bit lucky, it goes to show that this is a viable outdoor venue for most of the year.The great room of the castle was fantastic. We used it for a pre-ceremony tradition and for post-dinner dancing. The great room accommodated our 200 guests with ease; in practice, there were never 200 people in the room at the same time but even at its most full it never felt too crowded. The upstairs balcony made for a wonderful viewing platform for those who wanted to watch the dancing but not participate. Other guests milled about on the patio outside or on the front lawn.Many of our guests reached out to us and told us how magical the venue was. The only downside to the venue is that it's charming and aesthetically-pleasing uneven surfaces create mobility issues. We were able to mostly work around this because our guests were considerate and lent a helping hand to those who had a hard time with stairs and slopes - but our grandparents were definitely tired and sore by the end of the event.I would like to offer a special thank you to Iman, Rian, and Leah, without whom our event would not have come off. It was such a joy working with Shawn and his team! They truly worked hard and did an amazing job capturing our special day. Their work with our wedding video is such a treasure, as it is something that brings our memories back to life. They were patience, kind, and very flexible. Beautiful setting with tight and challenging holes. Great driving holes if you hit straight, but remember that there is no Range for warming up and letting the driver air out, putting green only.

Mt. Woodson castle is the type of place people dream of getting married at. The house reminded both my husband and I of our respective childhood homes and we knew that we had to book the venue for our day in March after going on a grounds tour with Iman. The grounds are well kept and there was plenty of parking for our 100-guest wedding and we received compliments on the venue and staff for weeks following our day. We could not agree more with the praise that was spoken of the catering staff, Iman and the castle. Iman was fabulous and always quick to respond to emails and she is excellent about setting “away from the office” notifications so that you don’t think your correspondence was overlooked. She was short and to the point (not to a fault though), but willing to explain in detail as well as take the time to talk to you rather than carrying on with the events at the castle. On the day of the wedding she was also able to direct, find and facilitate all of the events of the day. I only wish we had a bit more “getting ready time” before the ceremony began (we had ceremony and reception here). The food was also delicious and we loved that we had a tasting of everything they offered in order to best choose a menu for our particular crowd. We chose a buffet-style dinner, but there were also options for different style buffets as well as plated meals. We were also able to choose a bar package that suited our needs and were even able to customize some of the brews that were offered. Overall, it was delicious and the offerings were flexible -- so long as you knew what you needed. Bonus!All in all, our day was absolutely perfect from start to end. Even my Matron of Honor said it was the best wedding she had ever been to since everything went so smoothly– besides her own of course. Thank you, Mt. Woodson and Iman for a magical wedding! More...

We just had our wedding ceremony and reception here yesterday!!! Everyone is still talking about it! So beautiful and Iman (wedding coordinator) & her assistant we're both so sweet and made everything look gorgeous and run so smoothly! I would say the only down side was it was a little difficult to hear the DJ's announcements outside when he was set up inside for all the dancing and bouquet/garter toss. We attended a wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle. The wedding was beautiful with the Castles grounds giving it a magical feel. The food was perfect !! The pictures hanging in the hallway, were so interesting to see the original castle. It is still very original & beautiful. The unique rock stairs are a problem. Two ladies fell. I was here on Sunday for a wedding. The venue was beautiful and the weather and atmosphere we're picturesque . Service was helpful, attentive, and worked hard to provide a beautiful wedding. Parking was a little tough, but I got lucky so I cannot complain. This is just a heads up... Get there early for parking. Our Daughter and Son in Law married in November 2017, we received the final video it was amazing and exceeded our expectations. I want to thank Lloyd Films for such a job well done. I can't say enough about how amazing Shawn and his team are. From our first meeting to receiving our video they we professional, helpful, friendly and great people to work with. We are beyond happy with our videos. They truly captured every moment of our wedding and it was like we were reliving our day all over again.
