Friensly staff and beautifully presented cakes to order. Really love the designs! However the actual cake itself was a little dense but tasted good.

Yes, it's a little tucked away, but it's a beautiful gem of a bakery. They are always busy on a Sunday, so go early if you can, and enjoy the creativity of Lily Vanilli. Yum!

Good coffee, always nice on a Sunday when the market is on, the staff should be a little bit more attentive. And please stop asking and writing ppl's names on cups, it's so Starbucks.

Wedding cakes are pretty, they tell you seasonal flower options. But the decoration and taste is not outstanding considering you're paying hundreds. The shop front strawberry frosting Cupcakes tastes nice. More...

Lily Vanilli made our beautiful wedding cake and I cannot thank her enough! It was incredible and such a talking point. The right mix between quirk, elegance, taste and appearance. Absolutely fabulous!

…it's a quiet and lovely spot far away from the noisy Columbia Flower Market. I had a carrot and beetroot roll…and a rosemary and olive oil cake! they were both delicious and so tasty! however, I was a little bit disappointed by the guys behind the counter, they didn't look very organised and professional... Great flat white and vibes. Came here on Saturday during the flower market and was really pleasant. What’s up with not allowing customers to use contactless for purchases under £5! It’s not like they aren’t getting enough business! They just want you to buy a cupcake too More...

Lilly Vanilli have been on my list for a while as her cupcakes have been on a couple London's Top Cupcake list. Problem being it hard to sample the raved about baked goods if you don't want to bulk order from there online bakery. Tucked away in a little courtyard is their little cafe is only opened once a week, on a Sunday, the same day as the Colombia Flower Market so if makes a nice day out. The counter if filled with cupcakes, pastries and freshly made savouries such as vegetarian sausages rolls and tomato and onion tarts. Seating is limited so you are lucky if you get a spot in the sun on a nice day. I had the Blackberry apple cupcake as suggested by the lady that was serving me. One of the best I've tried in London. Moist and not overly sweet. Good frosting to cake ratio . I would definitely recommend More...

Years ago, when I 1st discovered Columbia road market, I stumbled across this little bakery tucked away into a patio just behind the main road. Back then, they were big on the red velvet cake - a cake I never really got the point of until I had it here. Now, I enjoy going there for all sorts of treats. Their savoury toasts, their sausage rolls, their incredibly dense brownies, their beautiful chocolate shells & just recently great t-shirts for baking lovers. It's a really cute place and they also do all sorts of cakes by order. If you have a sweet tooth or if you like decadent toasties, stop by! More...

Great little bakery open on a Sunday just off Columbia Road. Great looking and tasting cakes, a tad small by the slice but good if you get an individual muffin/cupcake. However, the star of the show would be the Sausage Rolls. Packed with so much meat and even chunks of Bacon you can't even fit it in your mouth, cooked fresh and still piping hot when served. Be warned it does get very busy, so you may have to takeaway rather than sit in. (Takeaway - 01/02/2015) More...

This is probably one of my favorite bakeries, the staff are super friendly, the coffee and tea is pretty good and of course some of the baked goods are beyond comparison (especially the brownies). The downside is that they don't accept credit cards, a bit pricey and they are only open on SundaysI would suggest going early if you want to get some of the best pastries as they are usually gone by 12. The cutest cake place I've ever been to! This little cafe has the homeliest feeling you will ever come across and you simply won't want to leave. As soon as you enter you'll be greeted with a big smile and the sound of laughter among the co-workers happily chatting away and buzzing about around you. The coffee is superb and dare I say it the cakes are even better. I had a large slice of the enormous carrot cake which was moist, nutty and simply heavenly. There is no better way to refuel after perusing the flower stands than sitting here with a coffee in hand, and all the better if it's a nice day as you'll be able to sit outside in the sunny courtyard watching shoppers browse the vintage stores. They don't take card so make sure to have cash on youCan get pretty busy so may have to queue for a short while - totally worth the wait. Brings back such happy memories for me :) More...

I'm-a-gonna keep this short.London, Friday was the longest day of the year, but my body does not believe that we're in June. It feels like October.Enter Lily Vanilli to provide a little sugar-boosted spring...erm...summer to my step.Last Sunday there were a few flickers of sunshine. East London was a-bumpin' with sunglasses and puppies on leashes and arm-fulls of flowers. Tucked away by Columbia Rd Flower Mkt: Lily Vanilli. It was packed, but mid-late afternoon if you cross your fingers just right you can get a seat at one of their great indoor/outdoor seating options (SEE PIC ATTACHED, Y'ALL).The staff is super sweet (wordplay!), the decor is kitschy but not overdone, and the vibe is lovely...like I'd discovered a real gem all by myself. My friend had a gooey savoury sammich, we all had coffee, and a bakewell tart was spliced into parts, diplomatically. It was faboosh. It was damnably hard not to get back in queue to resist the layers of sponges and cupcakes and cookies; only the long line stopped me. I will return. Yelp note: only open on Sundays! (SADFACEEMOTICON). Also: the bakery has a book ("Sweet Tooth") which I think will make for a great gift to a lucky pal. More...
