I do love it but always room for improvement. The parent toddler class on Monday mornings is excellent, child swimming classes are concise and great value. .. Plus the whole centre does something for everybody.
Will be trying the new 3g football pitch soon.

Thank you to Louise and all the swimming teachers at Leon. I have put two children through swimming for some years now. My children are both competent swimmers and that's down to hard work and great teachers. Thanks again I will miss bring Amalie, if she changes her mind about dance you may see her back. More...

My little brother went swimming and has been going for a while and loves it. There is a lovely and helpful young lady called Celine if I remember right definitely the nicest lady I have met at a leisure centre. Highly recommended.

We have been bringing our children here for years, the teachers are amazing and had all 3 of our children swimming in now time. my son did his 800 meters which was amazing and is so water confident now. My middle child has ASD and Jordan has been brilliant with her, regardless of her difficulties he has helped her with her confidence and she is now like a mermaid in the water, our youngest child started with Keith who had her swimming in a matter of weeks. All 3 children have amazing water confidence. Massive thanks to the staff. Highly recommended More...

My little girl was that baby who hated water and so I never forced it on her. Soon as she hit two all she wanted was swimming lessons. But she had to wait till she was 3. On her birthday she got lots of pennies so I asked lessons or toy shop and she picked swim lessons.
So last November she started in her preschool class with her lovely teacher Laura and had never stopped since then.
My little girl isnt the type of girl who wants to play games to learn. She wants information she wants to know how and she does not want to be told she can not do it because she is too young or two small.
Laura got this but being preschool floats were still needed especially with other young littlies joining her class. I then come across the fast track.
Which I have to say is such AMAZING value for money.
5 solid days of swim lessons where they learn quick.
She was in Jordan's class.
He never once told her she couldnt and most of the fast track Rose didnt have a float which gave her something to aim for. She had started using her term time lessons as a social event and just dilly dallied about. Not listening.
Soon as she was back with Laura I spoke about change her class and what she thought etc and she agreed it was best as she was teaching her ahead of preschool anyway. So sadly we had our last lesson with Laura but we see her often and Rose is still so fond of her.
I then tried to get Rose in Jordan's classes as he was exactly what she needed. He didn't rely on floats which suits rose. She didn't learn to ride a bike at 3 by using stabilisers after all. He pushed her. He corrected her and he taught her as an individual. He also rewarded her for great effort and technique and told her off when she thought its all a game. This is exactly how she likes to be taught. No point saying well done if it wasn't a good job. She's there to learn and wants too.
Unfortunately I soon learnt Jordan was leaving to be a school teacher. And the fast tracks were the last chance with him. She was begging me for him to be her teacher. So reguardless of being nearly full term she is booked onto his fast track lessons for 4 weeks.
She has just completed week two and my tiny little 4 yr old not only has her confidence back in the water (she lost it on fun day when she went a little too deep and forgot what she was doing) shes improved. She's been doing back stroke. Her face is back in the water.
We like to arrive earlier so she can watch the other kids and asked if she could do the same. They were down the deep end jumping in.
Mid me telling her shes too small. Jordan's goes come on then and takes her up the deepest end and gives my baby the chance and opportunity. That chance gave her so much confidence and the boost where she needs it. Now she gets them extra jump ins as a reward and none when she doesn't listen. She's so proud of herself and then challenges herself to do better.
In Jordan's class she has never been too small or too young. She has been a little girl who wants to learn. And yes she may go under (teacher right there with her) but I've so much confidence in the teachers and life guards that it's okay. Swimming is a life saving skill. She will go under and with out experiencing going under the water how can she be taught how to deal with that situation. She comes back up absolutely beaming with joy as she did it. And then the next day she does even better.
Rose absolutely loves Jordan as her teacher and its going to be such a shame for the leisure centre to lose him as he is exactly what children of today need. Hopefully the leisure centre will be able to keep him even if for just the fast tracks as kids do so well and its all about right teacher to right student. Rose needs Jordan.

I have been watching Megan's classes too and eager to have Rose in her lessons come the new term in September. But unfortunately she now only has sunday at 8.30 rather than the Saturday which I saw her teaching at. Who wants to get up that early?
MAYBE LOVELY LEON COULD GET THAT CHANGED ;-)
Hopefully I've years ahead of lessons to come with my new little one also at your leisure centre.
Hopefully the fast tracks continue as the value is so good.
Hopefully you get more Laura's Jordan's and Megan's. As they are an absolute asset to your team
Kids need this approach.
After all give a man a fish feed them for a day teach a man to fish feed him for a lifetime.
And kids love to be taught xx

I have 3 boys that have started swimming from the age of 3 and my eldest is 7 and about to finish his last term here as he has gone on to swim for CMK and my middle child has autism and I have to say it’s been a bumpy road but these guys have always been helpful in finding away that is SAFE and right to teach him as anyone with a child with special needs knows it’s hard to trust others but I have to say what a great job you guys are doing Jayden can now swim and sadly get in and out of the pool and get changed by himself and my last son is only in the first stage but doing good.

The staff are friendly and helpful I couldn’t recommend this place more iv even got my sister to bring her children here and friends
The fast tracks are get value for money too

Keep up the great work guys
