Dropped in one Tuesday lunchtime and had a couple of pints of nice cask ale in this pub which, allegedly, was more of a brothel than a boozer until the late 1990's.
Hipster vibe as apparent from the silly names of the beers, burgers in brioche buns and almost as many dogs as customers. But the barstaff were friendly and the drinkers chilled. Plus I welcome any venue that stands against the creeping plague that is "All Bar One" and its ilk. So, support local enterprise and swing bye for a couple.

Great place, lovely staff and fantastic live music. A bit busy on a sunny day however the venue allows the time waiting for a drinks order to pass by painlessly

If you're visiting Newcastle, it's well worth a walk further down the river to visit the Tyne (and Ouseburn) in general. Great selection of beers and solid pub grub. Great place to sit outside on a sunny day as well. More...

Possibly my favourite pub in Newcastle. Amazing outside space for drinking. Try to go when there's live music or DJs on.
Also, they have a cheap beer shelf in the fridge... always a winner

Wide selection of beer, both on tap and in bottles. Not cheap but decently priced. Tried the fries and onion rings which were decently priced and fairly large sizes, and were good. The reason for coming back would be because of the atmosphere, which is both chill and fun at the same time. Has outside seating that probably would be really nice, but no protection from rain outside. Would go again! More...

Great little bar close to the Tyne. Extensive range of cask ales to choose from. One of my favourite parts of the bar is the free jukebox complete with hand written track listings. The outside seating area is partly covered by the bridge that makes it perfect on a rainy evening. More...

Had a lovely drink and BBQ hot dog sat outside the Tyne today. It's looking very bright and colourful with the new awning on the front.
Plenty of outdoor seating and dogs welcome. We didn't stay for the 3pm band but it was tempting!

Lovely place. Jukebox and reasonable drinks prices. I hope the hill is still open. Nowt better than the Tyne bar Hill on a summers day.
It is the epitome of summer in Newcastle. Lots of love for the Tyne bar x
Ps. Only disappointing thing is I can't find any information on the tyne bar website about disabled access or toilets. I can't recall ever seeing any disabled toilets which is a huge shame. Please correct me if I'm wrong Tyne bar
