Kentaro san was very fast and accommodating with our familys schedual! The day of the shoot, we were sooo nervous, as we have a highly inquisitive child. But Kentaro and his assistant were very sweet and patient and really made this experience special! They allowed us to try different poses as our son has very long and curly hair. He sent us all the pictures taken that day and they were all gems! The 3 that were edited were perfect! No fly away hairs and bright backgrounds! Best Headshot experience I have had in LA! They have a cute studio with multiple background and lighting options. Ken works with his wife and they work very hard to make sure you look your best and are getting exactly what you want out of your session. Kentaro is a professional in every sense of the word. He has a great studio and from the first minute you walk in he makes you feel very comfortable. He works along side his wife who makes sure you look your absolute best. I had to get a professional photo taken for applications and Kentaro took some amazing headshots. All of the photos were available to me and he very promptly touched up the photos I liked the most. While I was home for winter break, I had the privilege of celebrating my upcoming 20th birthday with the Kimono SK studio in North Hollywood. I have dreamed of this day for longer than I can remember... I heard about Seijin Shiki from one of what became a long series of books I read on Japanese culture. When the day came, I was obviously out of my mind with nerves! Sueko and Kentaro were the nicest people to work with and quickly put me at ease. The booking process was very simple, and the costs were all upfront. (My best friend did my hair and makeup). After my mom explained that I was in no part Japanese, and that this was just something I'd always wanted to do, Sueko-sensei told me "We're glad you're doing this." It was a real boost! They both seemed to understand that Kimono isn't something that should be just be restricted to certain people/occasions. Sueko-sensei talked about what she was doing throughout the whole process, making my dressing more like a magic show than anything else. Anyways, I went out for dinner with my family afterward in Little Tokyo! The studio was kind enough to loan out a few dressing items that I didn't have for no extra charge (thanks!) and sent me the pictures very quickly. I was an exchange student in Japan who did a similar package while I was there, and I can pretty confidently say I preferred Studio SK's handiwork more! Thank you so much! Nice service, knowledgeable and family-friendly. I visited there for my son's 5-year celebration photo and Kentaro san, the photographer, and I was exchanging emails from my first inquiry to the time I finally got the pictures from him. It was so neat and clear. Beyond that he and the lady, who helped us out getting my son dressed and posing, made us feel relaxed and the photoshooting was so fun. I didn't like those kind of taking still photos, but this time was very different.Also, he gave us all the pics data he took, including test pictures right after the photoshooting so that we can easily send our pics to our family and friends overseas. Quality of the photos, and service is so much beyond the price itself. No hidden payment of course! Kimono SK is a top of the line kimono service and photography studio, going far beyond what normal traditional kimono studios offer. Mine was a studio shoot for my wedding. They have wonderful and varying options for kimono designs and I was able to find the exact vision I had in mind. I came in earlier so the makeup artist, Akiko, could work on me. She is super talented; she had my makeup and hair on point, exactly how I wanted from the photo we decided on. Sueko is a true expert in kimono styling, not only in the US, but in Japan as well. I didn't have to worry about anything--everything she did for me was in pure Japanese form. Kentaro at the studio was very detailed in every pose we took, along with lighting and the final touch-ups of the photos. The turnaround is quick and I am able to share my photos within days. We will be placing the final product up on easels at the wedding, which is always a fantastic addition for our guests to see. I was looking high and low for a place for the fiance and I to have a Japanese engagement shoot! I was so happy to find Kimono SK because not only they have a large selection of kimono to wear for different occasions, they are so educated in what they do. Not to mention I can get my hair and makeup done too! The company rents an apartment for their studio and it is so tidy and welcoming. I did not know Sueko san and Kentaro san before. But then, once finding out their professional artistic back ground all I felt was excitement! !! These two top class fashion artists are shooting my kids (5year old boy and almost 3 year old girl) with precious Kimonos!!! How awesome is that!!! For our daughter's coming-of-age ceremony which is very special event for 20 years old in Japan, we went to Kimono SK. There was a variety of selection from modern to traditional. Our daughter could try on some beautiful Kimonos and they showed her the coordination with Obi (belt) and other accessories. Working with Sueko-san and Kentaro-san was one of the most precious moments and memories. Their job was very professional, which made us comfortable and enjoyable. They allowed her to go out wearing Kimono, so we went close to the Hollywood sign to take pictures. I think the contrast of the symbols of Eastern culture and Western culture was very interesting!!! I also enjoyed Kimono Dress for myself on the other day. The design is very unique and creative, definitely one of a kind. I wore boots with the dress. It was super fun! I am dreaming  to attend a party with Kimono SK's Kimono dress in future.I would like to add one more thing. Although they have been working with Hollywood top stars, they are still amazingly humble. Suehiro is by far the most creative and highest quality of the Kimono Stylists working in the US today. I have proudly used their services since I entered the Miss Asia-USA 2011 pageant as Miss Japan. Ms. Sueko of Suehiro is a wonderful Kimono designer as well. She designed my Kimono for the traditional cloth competition and I was very pleased with the finish of the kimono. She is consummate professional, passionately dedicated to the art of kimonos, and has spent many years in the study of traditional Kimono. I have been fortunate to work with them in numerous media - film, red carpet, stage, fashion shows and catalogue modeling. I always want to use Suehiro Kimono's service because they are the most professional of the kimono designers. Even when I am wearing long kimonos with a job involving hours of walking, Sueko knows how to dress them to make walking easy and to prevent falling.    It is very hard to find a kimono company in Los Angeles that provides such a fantastic service as does Suehiro does. If you are looking for kimono stylists, they are the one for you!The first impression was very professional. They are well prepared and friendly. And I was surprised by how many kimonos they have. I didn't expect to have so many choices since being in U.S. They were so patient with me when choosing kimonos. I could feel that they care what you want and want the best for you!My husband and I wanted wedding pictures in kimono. The photo shoot went on half day since I tried on a couple of kimonos But they were there every steps, making sure everything was perfect. When I started looking for studios who can take wedding kimono pictures, my main concern was whether they knew how to dress Kimono properly. I knew, as a Japanese, it would be SUPER embarrassing if it were done incorrectly! (Especially because I was planning on sending those pictures to my relatives in Japan.) So after checking out some kimono studios online in the LA area, I contacted Suehiro Kimono Agency since they had a kimono school and seemed to have a vast experience with bridal kimono, which are a special kind and more complicated than the standard ones. I'm so glad I did!!!They had a wide selection of beautiful bridal Kimono, and some of them had just arrived from Japan, too. They not only let me pick different types of kimono for a photo session, but also let me add some poses I wanted to try:pThe kimono dresser did an EXCELLENT job, and the hair & makeup person did a WONDERFUL job on the "bridal kimono style" makeup and hairdo which is completely different from the modern style!
