If you don’t want to read this for the long haul - the bottom line is that there is no better choice for stunning photos at great value! If you do want full disclosure then:

Pre wedding: we spent a long time researching various photographers (they really are a huge part of the day!) and from google and Karl’s website, we instantly loved his style, and obviously the reviews sing his praises. From our first interaction with Karl we knew he was the kind of person that we would be happy to be involved in and sharing our day with us; he is so polite and just a really nice guy to speak with. It was absolutely great to meet Karl face to face for an engagement shoot (which we did as soon as restrictions allowed); and Karl was able to advise on the best spots for some gorgeous photos, and even from here was able to dispel our biggest concerns about the more staged photos looking forced or cheesy; the man is a genius in getting the best pictures! In the lead up to the wedding we had a few questions cropping up and Karl was always quick to respond to us, and was really open to the list of photos that we wanted on the day (we had quite a few) and that really put our minds at ease.

Wedding day: On the day itself, Karl was punctual, was dressed smartly and was a really lovely calming personality to have around us (I hadn’t realised how much I would pick up on and appreciate that in the hustle and bustle of getting ready). He seems to glide around the space, and despite being in all the right places to get the best shots; not once did it feel like there wasn’t enough space just to do what we wanted pottering around etc. Not only did Karl get all the shots we’d asked for, he also had some absolutely fabulous ideas for other hots, and whilst we were off for the couple shots everything was so much fun and light and airy, it was really easy! Karl was also great at instructing our guests as and when required, it was super smooth, which is saying something with some of our guest list! So many of our guests have commented on how lovely he was, ad as I say, he was in all the best places for the best shots, my mum actually though there was 2 photographers because of how swiftly and deftly he moved around the place!

Post wedding: When Karl left, he gave us an indication of the time frame for our photos, and I’m pretty sure they came back even sooner - always a win! When we looked through them, they really were just absolutely beautiful! The quality is stunning and I don’t know how he does it but he has an incredible eye and manages to get photos that allow you to just read the emotion on people’s faces (even my dad who isn’t an outwardly emotional person!) - this was one of the key reasons we went with Karl in the first place and he came through 100%. Everyone who has seen the photos has specifically commented on what beautiful shots they are and how well he has done; it goes without saying that the tears have flowed a few times! I genuinely don’t think anyone could have done a better job. To top it off, the value for money is absolutely undeniable.

Other: Karl’s pricing is refreshingly reasonable as was the deposit and final payment terms this was particularly important to us as we were in the depth of lockdown when we made our booking!

If you can’t tell, we would recommend Karl to absolutely anyone! We booked Karl for our wedding before the pandemic and despite delays he honoured our booking and moved dates without any stress. He made the bride feel at ease leading up to the wedding and on the day he came earlier than planned and was polite and courteous all day. He took thousands of photos and turned them around the next week for us. All of them great and lots of candid photos that we asked for. Cant ask for anything better from a wedding photographer. I have nothing bad to say about Karl! He was our photographer for our wedding last Saturday, and was friendly and professional from first communication onwards! His style is candid and relaxed, which suited us perfectly, and we hardly noticed him there on the day. We got an email link to all our photos the Friday after our wedding, which surprised a lot of my friends who had waited months for their photos. The portraits we had taken were varied and relaxed, and Karl knew our venue so was able to take photos to compliment its grandeur. The final photos were edited beautifully, and we can't wait to print them and display them for everyone! Karl photographed our wedding at Ellenborough Park in Cheltenham on 2nd March 2019 and we couldn't have been more pleased with the photos. He was professional and captured our day perfectly. Totally professional ! superb quality pictures ! very obliging nothing to much trouble and excellent to work with ! Karl made our day with his fantastic pictures and highly recommend him.

From the initial booking, to the pre-event consultation, right through to the end of the night on my wedding day Karl was an absolute pleasure to do business with. He even managed to calm my pre-wedding stress a week before the wedding, whilst having a conversation about the shots and final timings etc, he really is just that nice a guy!
Throughout the day itself we barely knew he was there, other than the specific group/couple photos that we requested, it almost felt as if he literally wasn't around, and it felt like this all the way through until we received our photos back, my goodness we were shocked with the amount we had, we were both thinking "when did he even manage to capture these?!"
All of the guests of the wedding have even commented on how "nice a guy the photographer was", and annoyingly upon showing them our wedding photos they don't comment on how good I look, they comment on how fantastic the photos are!!

As a bride I would thouroghly recommend Karl as a wedding photographer. He was perfect throughout the day, from capturing the morning 'getting ready' shots to some great reactions of our guests during the speeches and finally the dance floor action. He also went off to explore our venue and found a lovely place for some sunset shots that we didn't even know existed. Our guests also commented on how good he was, seemlessly blending in to capture all the events of the day. The turn around for getting the photos back to us was really quick and we were so pleased with the photos which he gave to us in both colour and black and white. Karl was the most polite photographer i ever met and had spoken to before the big day. The first thing i noticed with karl was he was just generally wanted you to have the best photos and got all the shots you wanted rather than the money like most photographers i spoke to. And thats what we wanted someone who was onviously good but was passionate and cared about our big day. Karl very kindly stayed for a couple of hours extra free of charge just so he could get all the pictures we wanted. All of our guests commented on how lovely he was and how good he was at capturing all the moments throughtout the day as he literally didnt stop. Wow, we've just received our wedding photographs (within 7 days too) and we are so delighted with them! Karl was absolutely fantastic from start to finish, excellent communication all the way through. On the day he had this ability to just blend in and almost disappear into the background which resulted in these absolutely beautiful, natural shots. Exactly what we were hoping for! We received over 1700 photographs which took several cups of tea to go through but we now have hundreds of photographs, representing every element of our day. Not a single thing was missed! Karl was our photographer for our wedding on 26/3/16. He was very professional, friendly, adaptable (he attended our netball wedding tournament in the morning as well as the ceremony in the afternoon). He worked with us to get the shots we were hoping for and otherwise was seamless in the background. Highly highly recommend! Karl is a brilliant photographer! He photographed our Wedding on 16/4/16 and we've had so many wonderful comments about the pictures from our friends and family. Karl is really unintrusive and yet captures photos you had no idea he was getting. We've got a wonderful wedding album now that we will look back on fondly for years and years to come.
Karl's service was also brilliant start to finish. He was prompt at replying to messages, met us at our venue prior to the wedding to discuss requirements, arrived early on the day and stayed later and then had the photos ready for us almost immediately after the wedding! The price was also fantastic.
All in all, we couldn't be happier with our pictures and Karl was a delight to have around throughout our special day and evening.
