My neighbors and I were so impressed with Julian Tree Care (both the owner and his crew)!  They were very efficient and skilled and fairly priced. Our neighborhood project was a huge one: 5-6 massive Eucalyptus trees and certainly not a task for a company that wasn't experienced and knowledgeable.  I would highly recommend them and also plan to use them myself in the future...other neighbors near by have also used them since our recent project in late September. I have a mulberry tree which is overhanging the roof and chimney. Julian Tree Care was quick in coming out to assess and provide a quote. They also accommodated my numerous scheduling changes over the next several weeks. I finally got the mulberry prunes today. They were prompt and professional. They use very loud equipment which was turned off whenever I was outside to look at the work. Excellent job with the pruning and cleanup as well. The folks at Julian tree care were awesome. From the first call to the initial assessment and quote for the work, they were extremely professional and great to deal with. Not only did they call me to confirm the appointment, they called and let me know they'd be 30 min late day of and still completed the work in the time they estimated in the beginning. Julian and his crew just removed two huge Monterey Pine trees from a large hill behind our house. They did a phenomenal job, completing the whole job in one day. Watching them do their work was really impressive -- they have a huge crane, a drone operator who streams video of what's happening for the crane operator to see, and wireless headsets for them all to communicate. They came out to fix a tree that PG&E screwed up and to trim the second tree in the backyard.  They came with a three man team and finished in about 5-6 hours.  They did a GREAT job!  Even the other neighbors are commenting how good the trees look.  I didn't have to micromanage and simply gave them loose instructions on what I was looking for.  They were able to figure out what I wanted and delivered perfectly.  They left the property clean and the trees pristine.Highly, highly recommend. Another super satisfying customer.   After getting a couple of quotes, including my previous tree trimmer, Julian was actually the last to call me back to schedule a quote.  On the day of the estimate, I completely forgot about it, and was about to award the job to someone else.  Boy, I am glad I didn't.  Carlos quoted me and scheduled me the same day, on the spot.  I asked him how many man to do the job, he said 4 max.  I hesitated since my previous tree trimmer had 6-7 man, and took all day (until 5pm) to finish.  In any case,  I agreed, since their awesome Yelp reviews.  I waited 2 weeks for the schedule to open, but again...TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT.  Today, Alberto and crew came around 8am.  Surprisingly, only 3 people.  I thought, oh crap....it will finish by 6pm.  But they just finished (at 3pm).Alberto and the other 2 guys just kept going, except for 20 mins lunch.He trimmed, cut down all the trees as quoted, and clean up.  Amusing.They are surprisingly efficient, hardworking, and professional. Julian's crew were professional, courteous and presented a very competitive bid for removal or a large redwood tree. Work crew arrived on time, communicated clearly. It was a pleasure to watch them working. Althought the tree was very close to our house, the power lines and the fencing -- they did not damage any of those. After the work was done (in about 4 hours time), they cleaned up. Everything was done with care, especially since our house is on the busy street, neighborhood life was not affected at the list. We learned about Julian Tree Care from our neighborhood bulletin board, and we are so happy!We needed to have 2 small dead trees removed and another much larger tree thinned and pruned (big job - it had been neglected for years). We got three bids, all of them very close in price, but Julian Tree Care stood out right from the start. Carlos was the one who sized up the job and gave us the estimate. He noticed my sadness about losing the cherry tree, which I had really loved. He pointed out a couple shoots with a few leafs that were barely 8 inches high (one growing out of the base of the trunk and the other out of a shallow root) and said, "Well, you know - that is the cherry tree. It has the very same root system. We can remove the tree, but instead of grinding the stump we can give these a chance to grow." I was ecstatic. NEITHER of the other two companies had mentioned this possibility! They were going to grind the stump, and I (in my ignorance) would have lost this chance for renewal. That's the reason we chose Julian Tree Care, but we went on to discover:* They show up promptly, work very efficiently, and afterwards they clean up very, very thoroughly. * Their work is beautiful. I mentioned what a bad state the neglected big tree was in. They thoroughly transformed it. Now it is airy and beautifully shaped. I've received many compliments already! * They noticed a couple problems that we hadn't, and just handled them! While estimating the job, Carlos noticed a city tree in front of our house. It had a couple branches that were not in great shape that were hanging kind of low over the sidewalk, so he mentioned that they could take care of those when they came to do the other work (no extra charge). IN FACT, what they actually ended up doing was pruning the entire tree - and again, they did a beautiful job! Plus they got rid of a clump of bamboo that had invaded the back yard.In closing, let me note with joy that the cherry tree is now as tall as I am, and let me once more THANK the team who worked on our yard.Carlos was the foreman. He did the estimating and pointed out that the cherry tree wasn't lost. He also came to check in midway through the job, just to make sure all was going well. I am very happy with Julian Tree Care! When our cat was stuck 40 feet up a large redwood tree, Julian of Julian's Tree Care rescued her. Julian was very helpful and explained how he would climb the tree and bring the cat back down. We are very satisfied with his work and quick response. I had two monster palm trees that I took bids for removal that varied in range so as to confuse me completely about what the job entailed.   One of the guys who visited flat out refused to do the work, as palms are dangerous to the workers.  But he referred me to Julian Tree Care, as they have a crane and are up for anything.  Julian's bid was not the lowest, but fair.  I received only a text quote, but there wasn't any problem with them sticking to the quote.  When they came, I was very happy with their professionalism and good communication.  They made short work of the monster palms and now I can plant my fruit trees instead.  In fact, watching them work was an entertainment  event for me and all my neighbors.  Highly skilled and experienced. Very impressed by Cesar and his crew.  Removed 2 large (50'-60') Monterey pines in a matter of a few hours using a crane, large chipper, and truck with removable top to cart away huge trunks.  Arrived on time, worked hard, good price, good clean-up and virtually no 'collateral damage' to other plants and landscaping, which was important since we were using neigbor's driveway to access trees.  If you have a big removal job, using a crane is the only way to go if your situation can accommodate it.  Cesar was amazing with that crane ! I want to say first that this company is strictly professional - unlike most tree service companies that either don't bother to return calls or come out but never provides an estimate because they don't want to do the work! Felt like a big operation-- they have quote crews and work crews rotating throughout the bay...  So there will be some lead time to get the job scheduled, but on the flip side, the shop is well run and the crews are experienced.  In SF, you want someone who's not afraid to be aggressive (saves you $) but who knows how to protect the tree and avoid city fines.  They did a great job on a 50 foot avocado tree... Very good experience!I had a dead pine tree that needed to be removed. Called a couple places and one of them quoted me a much cheaper price than Julian Tree Care at first. However, these guys are all about competitive pricing! I needed to get the tree removed ASAP. I called back and told them what the competition was offering but couldn't get me an early appointment until a few weeks. They matched the price and came back the following day to cut it down.A 50+ foot tree and it was gone in 2 hours! Crazy! They even took care of an old tree stump I had at no extra cost! In some of the initial interactions over the phone there was some noise in the background that gave a disorganized impression. However, all if our other interactions contradicted this initial impression. Julian came out to do an estimate right away, was fair and very professional. Scheduling was easy, the crew was on time, considerate, and prompt in removing trees from our front and back yard (all of them taller than our house). Use of digital technology to manage their business seems to be especially helpful with logistics. For example, they prefered payment in cash or check but were able to accommodate our request for a credit card charge, something we easily took care of online (we were willing to pay a 3% processing fee, which ended up relatively small given the size of the job).
