Julia did an End of Life photo session with my husband and I for our Shih Tzu, Kona. Having these pictures made has the healing process without her so much better. Julia did our pregnancy announcement for us that involved our dogs - I didn't want to go with just any photographer and I knew from seeing Julia's work she is amazing with animals. She got our five month old puppy and our 8 year old dog to pose perfectly for the photos (and he's a wiggly puppy!). Before the photo shoot Julia worked with us to discuss ideas so we could make sure we had the necessary clothes, props, etc. for the shoot. She chose a location that was perfect for a variety of settings and backgrounds. It was comforting to know we had ideas and a game plan going into the photo shoot. The day of the shoot she was super patient with the pups and did a great job of getting their attention. She made sure we were happy with the different types of settings/backgrounds we got and that we liked how the dogs were posed. She also knew the location before hand and had ideas in mind of where pictures would look the best. It was so nice to work with someone who was prepared and knew what vision to capture. After the photo shoot she was great at getting the photos edited and sent to us for proofing. I was floored at Julia's editing skills to make our dog's eyes sparkle and the lighting she used was perfect! She fixed minor flaws and made the pictures look top-notch. It is true that you get what you pay for! I'm putting these up on my livingroom wall! What I also loved is she knew we were going to share our announcement on Facebook and she made the prefect Facebook/social media cover photo - and I loved the idea too - the dogs at our feet with baby booties between all four of us. When the time came to announce the pregnancy I used the photos to make the announcement and my friends and family went nuts over the photos. Every time I share the photos with people they are amazed and tell me how beautiful the photos are. I highly recommend Julia - she is a professional in every sense of the word and will work hard using her talents to create amazing high quality photos! More...

Julia has a way with dogs in addition to being a wonderful photographer. She photographed my energetic and feisty little foster puppy and my super mellow, chill senior. Vastly different personalities and she captured them both perfectly! My foster puppy was a ball of energy and not exactly a cooperative model, lol, but she knew just how to get the best photos of him and work with his excitement and constant movement. She charmed the pants off my senior boy who literally refused to leave her side! He loves everybody he meets, but he was especially taken with Julia. It was hilarious and sweet. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Beyond the technical aspects of choosing the right location, nailing the lighting, and perfecting focus on the eyes (if it's a portrait), a great photograph shows a connection to the subject and draws the viewer in.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Do you prefer a more formal or more casual approach to your photos? What do you want to convey with the photos? How will they be used or displayed?

After 20 years of corporate America, I wanted to be in charge of my own destiny.

Head Shots
A good professional head shot is a must for LinkedIn if you are in the job market. They are also helpful to have available for company websites and badges. I can come to your location with lights and backdrops to make the process quick and easy.
Custom Portraits
These are usually on location at a park or a building with architectural interest and last between 45 minutes to two hours.
