I’ve been going to bootcamp three times a week since last October. The groups are well organised and fun. The exercises are rotated to hit different muscle groups (this also keeps me interested) and I am feeling much stronger. My core is much improved. This is the most consistent I have been with an exercise routine and I am feeling the benefits in my mood and overall well-being. I have never calorie counted before but this along with advice I have been given along the way by John has had a very positive impact. I have a better relationship with food. I would recommend Fit Brummie Bootcamp to anyone who is looking for a realistic long-term plan for staying healthy and enjoys training with like-minded women over the age of 40. More...

As a child who grew up in the 70's, I am used to being outside having fun. Maybe that's why now in my 50's joining the Fit Brummie Bootcamp has been the best thing I have done for a while. I stumbled across John on Facebook at a time when my weekly weigh-ins at fat club were making me very frustrated; handing over my £5 every week and not seeing any results on the scales was really beginning to get me down. I knew things had to change so I applied for a free trial, was accepted and turned up to find John and a group of women who I could easily relate to.I can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed the last two months, attending 3 sessions a week, each session different in terms of the exercises we do and the conversations we have! I still have my stubborn half a stone to lose, but I have lost a total of 10.5 inches from the circumference of my body and I am actually beginning to like myself again - both in terms of the way I look and more importantly the way I feel. I'm now into my 7 week of this programme and I absolutely love it. I feel in control and I have so much energy. I have lost 1 stone 1lb up to now and my ready now to focus on the next stone. This programme works when you are ready to make the change. No you can't eat what you want all the time, but the weekends are a time to look at the foods you missed in the week and to have them so you don't feel like you are losing out on the foods you enjoy. The exercise again isn't easy but if you want the weight loss you just have to do it, it does take a lot of courage but it's still a thousand times better then been overweight and you can do it and at your own pace. John is an inspiration he's been and done it himself so I know I can too. If you listen to what he says and you follow it you will feel amazing. It's not easy but anything in life worth having isn't easy I have 5 more stones lose and I'm ready to get rid of it!! have my life back and for the first time but in control of the food instead of the food controlling me. Happy Customer!! I’ve had a 6 week personal training programme from John and I’m now transferring that to Boot Camp. John is professional and very knowledgable about the psychology behind issues with food and exercising. The sessions were tailored for me, which was great, and designed to give me the tools that I need to break out of my bad habits and help me to have a plan and accountability for my eating. Alongside this I learned a series of ‘do at home’ exercises and pre and post workout warm ups and stretches to help me to incorporate fitness into my overall programme. I have lost weight and I feel like I have a plan to continue to my target weight without hideous dieting and to maintain my fitness. At the age of 61 and with a lifetime of yo-yo dieting, very little exercise (cos I hated it) and 3 stone overweight I decided I needed to do something different to get myself back to a healthy weight and with a lifestyle that incorporated a regular exercise routine. I’d tried Weight Watchers several times in the past and had been successful but wanted something that was home based and gave me diet and exercise accountability. I’m retired so cost was a consideration but I decided it was worth the investment.... and it was. I’ve lost 10lbs in 6 weeks and have a manageable exercise routine - was incredibly unfit and can feel a huge difference. I attended a free trial very nervously as I have never done any exercise class or been to a gym before! John was so supportive and all the ladies made me feel welcome. I never imagined I would enjoy it as much as I do. It has really worked for me and after just a few sessions I could feel the benefit, feeling fitter and trimmer. About 7 weeks ago I saw a video on Facebook about a free trial at Fit Brummie Boot Camp. Over the past year or so my weight had increased, a mixture of the usual stresses and strains plus I’d started a new job in a large team where there are birthdays or celebrations every day (and the ‘goodies’ are right behind my desk!). But I’d got to that point where you know you need to do something. So, I took the plunge. I didn’t know what to expect and was really (really) nervous but John is very welcoming and knows his stuff (as he says - he’s been in the same situation so knows what it feels like). It’s an all ladies group, and they are all very welcoming. The training is outdoors which I really enjoy (as I’m cooped up all day it’s nice to get some air), and it’s all core strength. It’s hard work (but isn’t it meant to be?), we have a bit of a giggle along the way and you do feel you’ve achieved something at the end of the session. Seven weeks down the line I feel healthier, I know my fitness levels have increased, I’ve lost about 8lb in weight and have met some lovely people. If you are thinking about taking the plunge my advice would be to just do it and see what it’s all about. More...

I joined John's Bootcamp 6 weeks ago, a decision which was a bit spur of the moment. I wanted to get more active, improve my fitness and hopefully lose a bit of weight along the way and knew I needed to make a change.From the 1st session, despite being slightly apprehensive as to what awaited me, I was warmly welcomed into the fold. I’ve recently joined Fit Brummie Boot Camp and I am really enjoying! I’ve been looking for a fitness solution which would fit round my busy life a a working mum and I think I’ve found it! The sessions are challenging (what’s the point if they’re not!?) but equally eveyone is encouraged to go at their own pace. There is all the support you need from John (who truly knows his stuff) and the others in the group. Eveyone is so friendly and welcoming, which made it a lot less daunting to go in the beginning. John’s sessions are more than a Bootcamp. I refer to them as small group personal training, as they cater for everyone’s different needs but with the company of other people. I joined not for weight loss, but to develop a regular fitness routine that was both structured and flexible. I enjoy all sessions, in all seasons! The workouts are varied, but simple enough to cope with my lack of co-ordination. John is a great leader, and inspires you to do more for your own health and fitness with both personal and professional advice and experience. In addition to this, I have made some great friends. Everyone who attends is different, with varied commitments and lifestyles. We have built an excellent community; and despite being nervous for my first session I now enjoy catching up with people and hearing about their lives as we work out together several times each week. I have been attending John’s Brummie Bootcamp since September 2017 and have loved every minute. Since I have started I have lost just over 2 stone with a mix of bootcamp sessions and healthy eating. John provides an excellent, achievable diet plan and regular inspirational stories and advice to help you on your journey. I have previously attended the gym, however didn’t keep it up as I “got bored.” John’s bootcamp has not left me feeling that way at all, infact I now enjoy exercising. I was a person who hated exercise and would feel very self conscious about people watching me exercise, however John and his ladies make you feel so welcome and I have seen huge improvement in my fitness. I attended John's Bootcamp sessions for over a year. I always enjoyed exercising outdoors - walking and the occasional cycle - so regular classes in the park felt more my thing than joining a gym. I was amazed how quickly my fitness and wellbeing improved. I am now the fittest I have been in a decade, I haven't had a day off sick in all that time and I can actually do press ups for the first time in my life!

After many years of trying to lose weight on my own, but to no avail, I decided to seek out the help of a personal trainer and I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions of my life.

I have been working with John for 8 weeks now and in that time, I have gone from 17st 9lbs to 16st 9lbs. As well as the weight loss, I feel stronger, I understand the process of what is needed to achieve my goals, I am in a manageable routine and above all else, I feel happier than I have felt for a long time.

Being a full time teacher, with many other hobbies and activities as well as my job, I always thought that I wouldn't be able to fit exercise and healthy eating into my lifestyle. However, John has helped me to understand and realise that it's the small changes that will eventually lead to the big gains and as a result of this, I am beginning to feel more in control of my life and I am able to manage my time more effectively.

John is very down to earth and doesn't bombard you with heavy 'trainer' info. Instead, he is to the point and gives you the info that is necessary, whilst remaining friendly and approachable.

I am still very much in the early stages of my journey, but so far it has been a journey that I have enjoyed and I am looking forward to seeing where it takes me.

I contacted John on a whim as I needed a new approach to exercise. I really wanted to make it an enjoyable part of my life again but didn't feel I could do it in my own.
John has helped me get my head around some pretty bad thinking patterns I've developed over the years. His approach is holistic, personal and honest.

My friend recommended me to join John's boot camp and I'm so happy I did. The sessions are tough going but are always worth it, John has an excellent sense of humour and is great at motivating everyone to keep going while not pressuring you by analysing your every move. I joined johns 4 week boot camp competition.i was nervous about going and meeting john but he is very easy to get along with and not once did i feel intimidated or out of place.his bootcamps do what they are supposed to do and in 4 weeks i lost 8 lbs. its not just about fitness but teaching yourself new eating habits too.since the competition ended i feel lost not going to johns bootcamp so will be continuing as a paying customer.in my opinion it is worth every penny when you walk away feeling good about yourself. I live in the states and happened to hear John speak about weight loss online. I was 40 pounds overweight at the time. Since working remotely with him via a weekly coaching call and group webinar I have shed 20 pounds and 2 dress sizes. I have truly made a life-style change and my daily habits reflect all that I have learned. The personal and group coaching is no nonsense simple information that delivers results. I love working with John. As a Holistic Massage Therapist it's important for me to have a strong core in order to help my clients effectively but without causing injury to myself.

Our sessions are tailored to strength & conditioning specific muscles but he does throw in the odd session of Cardio as a nice surprise!
Most recently i had experienced a rather irritable few days and without prompting John turned up with Boxing Gloves and we had a fantastic session of me hitting him via the pads which worked it all out.

John has a wealth of knowledge about diet & fitness but more importantly he has lifestyle experience - he knows what you're going through as he's faced the demons himself.

The only person stopping you from achieving your goals is you. I can definitely recommend John as a Personal Trainer, he gets to the Core of what it is YOU want to achieve and will do his very best to help you get there.

I have been a member of gyms in the past and like many people use the sauna more!.
August 2016 I joined John and a great bunch at Queens Park, Boot Camp. No frills, great fun and it works.
John knows his stuff based on his own journey, the atmosphere is fab and I love it .
On a recent ski trip I was the only person who didn't have aches and pains and every day I walked back to our accommodation at the top of the hill, everyone else aged 35 - 49 took the bus.
I have more energy, fitness level has improved, I feel good and I'm 57

As a busy working mom of two, I always found it hard to to find the time to fit in exercise, often being too tired and lacking motivation at the end of the day.

One day I heard about bootcamp. Four years later I am still attending the 6am morning sessions.

The exercises and eating plan are easy to follow and the results are amazing. It's a friendly environment and John is always on hand to answer any questions, give nutritional advice or offer inspiration if you feel you have fallen off track or just need that little boost to your motivation.

Whilst exercising outdoors regardless of the weather is not for everyone, for me it works.

You just need to find what works, be consistent and enjoy the results.

I found out about John via Facebook when one of his posts popped up on my timeline . It was advertising a transformation competition .
I am a very unfit and overweight mum who didn't think I stood a chance of getting to the end of the first session yet alone win a competition!
I will be honest it wasn't the easiest thing I could have done, infact if it wasn't for Johns pure honesty and dreadful jokes I don't think I would have made the next session . But what he said stuck in my brain and made me go back. He made me start to believe that I could do it too!
I now look forward to each session believe it or not ( my husband is amazed.)
So to sum it up if you want to achieve your goals or at least be on the right path turn up and smile .

I joined John's sessions just over four weeks ago after seeing an advert on Facebook for a 4 week weight loss competition. The competition came at the perfect time for me. I knew I had to do something about my weight (I am classified as obese and was at risk of diabetes) and I wanted to get fitter so I would have enough energy to play with my eight year old son, and could stop saying to him, "Mummy's too tired." Before joining the classes, my idea of exercise was a short walk to the shops when my husband had the car and I needed chocolate. When I would get to the shops, I would be out of breath and sweating, even though the walk was short and not at all uphill. Five weeks on, I can't say I'll be running any marathons soon, but I can walk for miles, now have a very happy son whose mother can take on the maze at Ragley Hall, and have lost over 8 pounds and three inches off my waist. What has amazed me even more, though, is that I can't wait for the next session! I've never been excited to get to an exercise class before this, but the atmosphere and people are open and friendly, and I don't feel embarrassed when I can't yet keep up with some of the others. I just go at my own pace, and John is really encouraging. He keeps saying, "You just need to turn up and I'll help with the rest," and it's true. I haven't ever regretted making the effort to get there, and I feel fantastic when the session finishes, which is what keeps me coming back! I thought when I joined the competition that I would just "give it a go" for the four weeks and would "see how it went". I've felt like that before with diets and now realise this was my way of giving myself an "out" when the diet or exercise became too challenging. But as part of the competition, I had to commit to two sessions a week for the whole four weeks, and this made me stick with it when I would otherwise have taken the easy way out - again. I never expected to find something I would love and could see myself coming to for years, like many of the others who attend John's sessions. Within the first week, I knew this wasn't about a four week contest anymore - it was about a change for life. I didn't win the contest, but that isn't important to me. I joined johns 4 week boot camp competition.i was nervous about going and meeting john but he is very easy to get along with and not once did i feel intimidated or out of place.his bootcamps do what they are supposed to do and in 4 weeks i lost 8 lbs. its not just about fitness but teaching yourself new eating habits too.
since the competition ended i feel lost not going to johns bootcamp so will be continuing as a paying customer.in my opinion it is worth every penny when you walk away feeling good about yourself.

I have been training with John for around 6 weeks now and can honestly say I would never go back to my previous lifestyle. John has inspired me to live a healthier lifestyle and encouraged me to incorporate simple movement exercises which have made the world of difference!When I first spoke with John I told him I had 6 weeks to shape up ready for my up and coming wedding but I did not want to lose weight as I already have a slim frame so struggled with what kind of exercises I should be doing and what type of food I should be eating. I took the effort to squeeze my exercise bike into my car when moving from Manchester to Birmingham but could not find the motivation to get on it once it was set up! I joined John Hill's bootcamp thinking that realistically I could just about commit to two sessions a week and that I'd give the diet plan 'a go' but as a convinced choc-a-holic probably wouldn't be able to stick to it. A month later I had lost 11lbs, was loving it and, have to admit, actually missed it on the rest days! Food tastes better and my energy levels have increased exponentially.John is great at motivating and advising people, whilst his funny anecdotes help to positively distract you from the exercise - a far cry from the monotonous clock-watching I endured at the gym. after having 2 children 19 months apart I had become several stones overweight. I find it easy to use excuses to not go to the gym, and after previously being a keen runner I was lacking motivation to get back into it. I decided I needed to have someone motivate me. I saw the bootcamp sessions online and decided to join up. John gave me a copy of his diet plan, and I must say I was very dubious<span id="moreReview498946" class="hide"> to start with about giving up carbs. All he said was 'give it a week'. So I did. I lost 9 pounds. I wasn't hungry and after a couple of days the cravings for carbs 'and all things bad' went. I have tried most diets and am a self confessed greedy pig... When I was too afraid to find a Bootcamp, John gave me the motivation and support to get off of the sofa. It took a little weight loss to be brave enough to start, but it was the best thing I ever did! The new me, rarely watches any TV at all and enjoys training and cooking from scratch, clean, organic food. Me and my sister both attended John's bootcamp sessions as part of the biggest loser competition. The sessions are great fun but most importantly the exercises work! You do not have to be super fit or slim to go to Johns sessions, everyone is welcome and nobody is judged, just do what you can and watch the magic happen! I have also perviously had personal training sessions with John and would highly recommend this service. He is professional, always on time, never makes you feel uncomfortable and is always 100% supportive in helping you achieve your goals. He gives you great dietary advice, keeps it simple and tells you exactly what works. (He is also quite funny but don't tell him that as it goes to his head) :) My sister Leanne won the biggest loser competition losing 13lbs in just 6 weeks (she can't right her own review as she doesn't have a computer at the moment), this is what she has to say:'I had never done a bootcamp before and was really nervous but John was so supportive and everyone made me feel so welcome. I have been following John Hill and the success of his clients for a while on Facebook and decided that it was just what myself and my sister needed to get us motivated again. The food list and diet plan is simple and easy to follow and you never feel hungry as you can eat good quantities. I found John via Wowcher and its been the best £18 I've spent for my life and health. I am a qualified gym instructor and experienced gym goer and class goer. I gave John's boot camp a go. I joined with two other friends. One tried his diet and did well so one week in and I gave it a go and have not looked back. I was fit when I was young ie in my teens and 20s. Since August I have lost 33lb of fat, stayed the same chest size and arm size. I need new clothes. I have lost fat as in I was 28 per cent fat at the start and am now 15.4 per cent. I jokingly set myself a target of a sixpack for Christmas. This was a stupid I'll never have one goal. I am nearly there. If you turn up, work hard and follow the eating plan THIS WORKS REALLY WELL. I am as fit now as when I went to Officer Training in the Army at 19 years old and I am 33 now! If doubt, don't, just turn up as this is truly 'Inspiring Fitness'. I have attended John's Bootcamp and weight loss seminars for the last few Months, and I have to say its been a great insight to helping me achieve my weight loss targets. I recently took part in his Biggest loser 6 week challenge and managed to lose half a stone. He has taught me so much about my Inner Demons which I have named ! My first session I was a nervous wreck, it took me courage to get myself there but I stuck to my decision and attended John's bootcamp sessions for about 4 months (have stopped for a few weeks, but will resume)! I would honestly say that they were the best 4 months of my life. Going three to four times a week gave me so much; I was feeling fitter, better, more energetic and progressing- just one<span id="moreReview491833" class="hide"> example, I could never do a push up but within two weeks of joinin I was doing them; overall it just felt great especially when I was losing inches! The dietary advice that I was getting from John was so valuable and if you followed it you got instant results! He talks so much sense, and it's quite literally lifestyle changes. I regularly attend Johns morning boot camps and I have to say they are just fab! short bursts of targeted exercise which quite simply are the most effective I have ever tried. The sessions are fun, informative and most of all productive minimum time=maximum results I`ve never been a morning person but I am now! Basically - this works! I have know John for 20 yrs now (of course I have aged better) and followed his FB page for some time. <br /><br />Some of the fantastic comments he has recieved kept me absorbed in his activities and his obvious mental behaviour. Although I dont use Bootcamp John has sent me his Diet Plan to attempt. Very positive and also very realistic about timeframes and goals. Great diet advice. I have lost 2 inches from my belly in 3 weeks. I am doing some weights for strength so didn't expect weight loss, more strength and power. I am eating much better now which has helped me stop snacking and eating the rubbish that got me unfit in the first place. i have been using john as my personal trainer at my home for 4 weeks today on the initial visit we discussed my goals and how we were going to reach them, 4 weeks later i have smashed the goals we had set, due to johns knowlage and motivation skills there has never been a question he cant answer he gets the best and most out of his clients, i have used gyms for many many years and had to do so many more hours and not get the results i do with john, all work outs are enjoyable , he has also helped me with my bad eating habbits, i now feel better than i ever have i would reccomend john to any one looking to get into shape no matter how experienced or unexperienced you may be or what your personal goals may be

I first heard about Johns bootcamp sessions from my moms friend.We both went for the first free taster session and loved it. John then set up a 6 week biggest loser challenge to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support while we loose weight.I was very very impressed with the results after 6 weeks with johns help,support,bootcamp and fantastic diet plan i lost 11lb and 2 inches from my tummy. John is not only fantastic at what he does as a personal trainer but i also now see him as a friend. Whenever you need advice and support and maybe having an off day just his posts on facebook can pick you up to get going again and hes always there to send a message to or talk to at bootcamp. I first met John back in high school when he looked very different! We became facebook friends a while back and I noticed how well he looked compared to his school days. His statuses were always very positive and his posts about bootcamp really appealed to me. It looked like loads of fun and everyone who attended seemed to really enjoy it, so I got in touch with him and decided to give it a go. It was more fun than I ever thought! I didn't realise how much I'd love getting a little dirty and fit at the same time! I noticed pretty quickly that I was fitting into my clothes much better and I wasn't feeling as lethargic as previously. After only a couple of months I'd dropped a dress size and never felt better about myself.I really can't rate John's methods and advice highly enough. He always ensured bootcamp was varied and interesting, yet still very effective! He was always very professional, yet compassionate and I could guarantee he would always be there, on time.. rain or shine, with a smile on his face. I was nearly 14 stones and needed to lose some weight & gain stamina. Not that I was overweight in proportion to my height. I started training with John in his outdoor boot camp in April 2012 with some apprehension. I wasn't fond of exercise and was never any good at it at when I was at school. In less than about 5 months, I have lost nearly 2 stones, look a lot leaner and have increased my stamina! My friends & family who haven’t seen me for some time, look at me and say OMG what’s up with you, thinking I been suffering from an illness! When I explain to them that I have been attending bootcamp, they are amazed! My body shape has totally changed and I have found an enthusiasm for exercise that I thought I never had! I used to go jogging but as a lot of people know, jogging can be quite boring, so bootcamp is an ideal alternative to pounding the pavement, whilst also getting toned and meeting new people.Attending John’s bootcamp helped me to run the Birmingham Half Marathon this year! John is an extremely knowledgeable coach, and knows a lot on exercise & nutrition. He has also become a good friend, and his sessions are fun filled & varied. We do exercises that increase stamina & tone the whole body. One day we could be doing legs, next abs, arms, shoulders etc. John provides kit & refreshments all at his own expense, as well as a great sense of humour! John is always readily available to talk about how to get the best results & what lies we are being fed (no pun intended!) by the big food companies in order to push their products. How much sugar they include, how they extend shelf lives by pumping our food with chemicals etc. Now, when I am unable to attend one of his classes, guilt takes over! My outlook on health & exercise has changed completely for good! I can’t recommend John highly enough. My sister and I began at Inspiring Fitness Bootcamp in April 2012 and despite rain, mud, ice, snow and freezing temperatures are still very much committed to it, 10 months on. Whilst the word 'bootcamp' conjures up images of shouting and strict rules I would urge you to abandon that stereotype. Yes, John is very passionate about educating people on all aspects of health and nutrition but he does in a way that allows you choice. He will not say "no, you can't or don't. What he will say is 'this is how it works, this is what is does and your choices are". For me, to be given the control in what I want to achieve was important. To be told this is how it works and this is why is can work for you was a welcome relief from the 'calories in v's calories out' formula. Depending on what your goal is John can, without doubt, help you achieve it. Most folk want weight loss but if you want to become fitter, leaner, stronger or faster he has strategies for everyone. Bootcamp sessions are hard, they push you, make you swear and ache but it feels great to suddenly realise that you've just done 10 full press up's on your toes without stopping in the pouring rain and freezing cold. To know that you can do it and to be given an environment to keep falling and getting up without any judgement (from John or anyone else in the session) is wonderful. Honestly, I was beginning to believe that I was destined to be fat all my life. I was the heaviest I had ever been and at only 36 had started to alter the way I walked downstairs to accommodate my weight. The day I noticed my stair shuffle mobility issue I went fire engine red even with no one around.I had tried to follow so many peoples advice in the past including running a half marathon and detox diets and come up with nothing for it except sore knees and a sore hip. Nothing worked and there seemed to be no relationship between commitment and success for me. Soul destroying!A friend introduced me to John’s Six Week Boot Camp Challenge. Being outside is fabulous, especially after being stuck in an office all day. The people are amazing. Everyone supports and encourages each other. John is a great Trainer, a person with boundless energy, stacks of patience and a genuine commitment to helping people reach their goals.John gave me a diet sheet plus a few extra tips on the side. The crucial one for me seems to be no carbs except those that you can obtain through veggies. Three months later and I honestly cannot believe the progress that I have made, how my body has changed and how alive I feel. I sleep better, can enjoy what I eat (seriously it isn’t rabbit food folks) and my knees and hip are so much better for having some of the weight taken off them! Having tried and failed numerous times to get into a routine of working out and changing diets left right and centre I decided I needed a kick start. Following a recommendation from a friend I got in touch with John to investigate what training and advice he offered. He came to the house and we talked goals and previous failed attempts to achieve them and he laid out the packages that he offered with no pressure to sign up for anything. I opted for the 6 weeks two sessions a week package and couldn't have been happier with the outcome. I lost a stone in weight and about 3% body fat. Definition in my upper body (a target) has improved no end and I am getting numerous comments from colleagues and friends. My biggest success I think is the change in my attitude to eating, not a diet, just thinking about food differently and basing my diet on the plan that John shared. The exercise sessions were always different, always strenuous but never over the top. John offers pointers and encouragement but is not the stereotypical yell in your face personal trainer. I contacted John a year ago when I was 7 months pregnant with my 2nd child, and explained to him that I wanted to loose my baby weight and some more. After 12 weeks of the birth of my daughter I re-contacted John and went to the free taster session in July. I first met John back in high school when he looked very different! We became facebook friends a while back and I noticed how well he looked compared to his school days. His statuses were always very positive and his posts about bootcamp really appealed to me. I had a personal trainer before I met John and I wasn't meeting my goals. I was 13 stone when I first started with this previous company and the lowest I lost in 8 months was 8lbs. I was getting frustrated and was thinking this wasn't working for me. I was introduced to John by my friends Hayley and Wayne who had been training with John for a few weeks. I contacted John who came to visit me.<span id="moreReview351503" class="hide"> John came down and discussed he's training program with me and more importantly asked what my goals were and over what time I wanted to achieve these goals. After a half an hour consultation I thoughts were 'bring on the challenge and let the fitness begin'. During my consultation with John I set my set a goal to lose 6lbs in 6 weeks and I achieved this. My one to one sessions with John were intense but very enjoyable and I felt like I'd actually done some work. I started feeling great after my 1st week and now I feel loads better. I'm able to get into my clothes comfortably and I get praises from friemds about the weight loss and looking good. <br /><br />I also joined John with a 6 week 'Biggest Loser Challenge' and it was great. I have been using john as my personal trainer at my home for 4 weeks today on the initial visit we discussed my goals and how we were going to reach them, 4 weeks later I have smashed the goals we had set, due to johns knowlage and motivation skills there has never been a question he cant answer he gets the best and most out of his clients, I have used gyms for many many years and had to do so<span id="moreReview351017" class="hide"> many more hours and not get the results I do with john, all work outs are enjoyable, he has also helped me with my bad eating habbits, I now feel better than I ever have I would reccomend john to any one looking to get into shape no matter how experienced or unexperienced you may be or what your personal goals may be.</span>

I trained with John for about 10 weeks only as I ended up moving down to London, I have never had a PT before and always tried in vain to be a loyal follower at the Gym but honestly I have seen results and muscles that I never knew I had in a very short time! Im in my early 40's and have been into cycling and running all my life. When I hit my 30's the weight started to accumulate around my midrift and despite all the exercise and faddy diets I tried, it still would not shift. After reading an article by John, I decided to give him and personal training a try. Smart Move! After a thorough consultation we decided on a suitable program and diet plan. John is not the first trainer I've worked with but he is definitely the best. Punctual, passionate and extremely knowledgable. I'd say the difference between John and other trainers is the way he looks at motivation, nutrition, drive & goals and quite frankly if that's not what you need you may as well get a DVD! I have been training with personal trainer John since March 2011 at the outdoor boot camp in Calthorpe Park, Birmingham. Having previously been an avid gym goer, I was starting to get bored of doing the same things. Boot camp is definitely a more fun, varied and effective alternative to the gym. Not normally given to writing reviews, I have to make the exception and recommend John Hill very highly to anyone looking for the services of a personal trainer. Working long and irregular hours, client socialising, sitting in a car or in front of a PC for hours, enjoying large portions of (often unhealthy) food, and having a soft spot for a nice glass of wine while lying in front of the TV is<span id="moreReview200509" class="hide"> the mountain John had to climb when I realised I had to 'outsource' some discipline back into my life. My mandate to him 6 months ago was to lose 2 stone in that time, so that I'm in a better place to participate in my small boy's active life as he grows up. He has achieved that by only 2 hourly sessions a week. What's amazing though is that goal now seems completely irrelevant, as my outlook on so many things has improved so markedly. At 37 I'm probably in the best shape I've ever been, have loads more energy, feel more positive, and shockingly don't even breathe in when in front of the mirror anymore! John is flexible around your schedule, always alternates your work out to keep you guessing/interested, helps plan REALISTIC dietary changes, and keeps you motivated with the carrot instead of the stick. My fiancée also took part with me for the first 3 months until advanced pregnancy, and that also worked very well despite two very different physiques, so consider that option too if you need a friend/partner to take the first step. I first met John in August and he spoke about how he had lost the weight and how he could help me. He asked me about my lifestyle and about my goals and how much weight i wanted to lose? i said a stone and a half in 4 to 5 weeks. He helped me realise that that wasnt a realistic goal yes he could help me but i had to be realistic, thats when i popped the question about the hollywood stars and how they lost so much weight so quickly, he explained that they pay people hundreds to be at thier beck and call, people like John and a person dedicated to sorting out thier diet etc. He offered me a free session and then i could make up my mind. After losing over 50 pounds myself I appreciate how hard the journey can be. From my experience of working with people, people struggle with routine and habits more than anything else. What I do is help manage health and fitness as part of everyday in a normal and practical sense. You can't just give every client the same coaching and hope for the best. I appreciate there is a human being at the other end of the process.

Accountability and simple tasks broken down for the individual. You also need someone to help you up each stair of the staircase as you go instead of expecting too much too soon.

Changing lives. Not just getting people fitter or maybe losing a few pounds, I mean changing live's. Giving people confidence, control and a sense of self worth is priceless.
