I am a fine artist, having been painting professionally since 2001.
I specialize in a unique mixed media combination of refractured watercolor (I had the term recognized by the international Kolaj magazine in 2016), poetry and acrylic. Yes - I'm also a poet and all the words in the paintings are my own.

Very patient as I am new to this entire process, quality work even outside her comfort zone, and eager to demonstrate/ test her skills in new and different ways outside of her usual style of work.
What do you love most about your job?
The joy that I bring to customers when they either fall in love with an existing piece of my art, or see their completed commission.
What inspired you to start your own business?
It was an epiphany: it was time to paint again. I had wanted to be a painter and poet as a child, but academic life got in the way. I could no longer hold it in. It's how I can give joy and serenity to those whose lives I touch.
Why should our clients choose you?
I love working with people and bringing their vision, idea, thought, memory or desire to life. It brings to mind the question 'Do you live to paint, or paint to live?' My answer would be that I live to paint, but I don't paint simply for myself, I paint for others, so my creations are not meant to be held inside but to go out to others and bring joy to them.
For my studio work I use a unique mixed media style, but for commissions I also work in more traditional styles and mediums so my clients are not limited. I have painted such diverse subjects as a plant cared for by a son who had passed, the soul of a house and the words of a song.
I write poetry for my studio paintings and can do so for yours - or I can just write a poem if you need one to say something for a special occasion!
Commission Painting
I work in oil, watercolor, acrylic, refractured watercolor, poetry and mixed media.
I can paint your view, memory, pet portrait, idea, abstract concept - you tell me what you are thinking of and I'll let you know whether I can do a great job for you. (I just don't do people portraits!)
We can work locally or remotely - I've completed commissions by a mixture of phone and email or just by email.
Murals
I work in the California desert - Imperial County, Coachella Valley and High desert - and can complete interior or exterior murals on a variety of surfaces - wood, stucco, drywall, metal....
Let me know what your concept/idea/vision is and where your wall is and we will explore the possibilities. For very large murals I may work with another local artist if that is the best for you and your timescale.
Painting teacher
I have a class called 'Painting for Absolute Beginners' which is a 1-day intensive boot camp aimed at giving you the fundamental skills and understanding to start painting. I can teach this to a group (6 is a class max for individual attention) at a suitable location in Southern California.
I also can do individual ongoing instruction at my location or yours in Imperial County/Coachella Valley for more specialized tutoring - as few or as many classes as you need.
Poet
I have written poetry since I was 7 and have now written more Shakespearean Sonnets than Shakespeare himself! I can create a custom poem for your occasion, short or long, in a variety of styles.
