Shocking service phoned office as sheltered housing no heating or warm water explained about elderly tenants was then asked if it was commercial felt as if who answered the phone was half asleep . .eventually a guy turns up had not a clue then it was transfered to another contractor then we had heating poor service from some of your staff this needs reported higher up More...

Had the Gold Boiler maintenance plan - get boiler serviced prior to selling. They introduce a small leak into boiler, manageable with a mixing bowl. 3 engineers couldn't source leak. 4th sources leak and orders parts. 5th engineer systematically wrecks the boiler until it cannot be turned on due to a major leak - water goes in and comes straight back out. From having no issued with my boiler for 12mths, to a service, a leak within 2wks of that service, to then having to buy a new boiler due to it being "uneconomical to repair" - read: they made it uneconomical. Still have not responded to a formal complaint a month later. Avoid at all costs - cheaper to have no cover than with these crooks. More...

WHEN IS A CONTRACT NOT A CONTRACT?! Apparently when James Frey Gas Sure decide at a whim to renege on their contract with you.
An initial inspection was done of my boiler and ten days later the first premium was taken from my account. When I later had to call for an engineer’s visit they conveniently decided that I did not have a contract despite the fact that they had taken the money from my bank account. They then suspiciously sent me a letter saying they were not accepting cover on my boiler and it needed to be replaced and offering to quote for this. I have since had another engineer inspect and repair my boiler and state that it definitely does not need replaced as it’s relatively new. This is the worst sort of deceit from a company offering warranties and I believe they are acting illegally by taking the premium for the contract and then, when it suits them, saying I don’t have a contract.
Please don’t insult me by offering your standard reply ‘contact our call centre and speak to our manager’ since this has already been done and all that I got is backpeddling and excuses. My assessment of this situation is that a member of your staff has made a massive boob and is not willing to accept responsibility. You should have the decency to ‘man up’ and accept when you’re wrong.

My landlord contacted James Frew for repairing the boiler for me as no hot water and heating. The first engineer came to get the boiler fixed, and advised me that they would change a fan for me, and somebody would contact me when the fan was ready. The second engineer came with the new fan, who checked the boiler carefully and installed the new fan. The boiler works ok now. Well, when they say they will turn up at 0800h, that is exactly what they do. Very prompt. Work was carried out very professionally and they seemed willing to go the extra mile in doing a good job. Nothing was too much trouble and they were prepared to spend time in explaining everything. A very small problem developed overnight and when I contacted them they came down almost immediately and resolved the issue in a matter of minutes. I was impressed with their work installing our new boiler and I had them back to do more work for us. Same result as before and was satisfied with the work. There is a small problem with a switch they installed but nothing that I cant put a temporary fix on. Would I recommend them? Yes I would and I would use them in future. More...
