The last person that left a review was removed from rated people as he was found to be a dishonest person. I have sent a letter via my solicitor to bark and to him now. The company that he worked for dismissed him for fraudulent claims as he bought items with the companies name and installed it at his house. rated people also found out about this and removed his ratings. Bark should not allow people that haven't placed an ad through their company to write a review that is why I use companies like rated people and my builder and federation of master builders so that these reviews can only be put if it is legitimate.

I will ask Bark to remove this rating immediately as they do not know the ins and outs of this job.

this guy only came through rated people where I gave a receipt of the job lead and he was not allowed to post a bad review there once they found out his activity.

My companies are both vat registered and this guy didn't want to pay the vat.

absolutely Dodgey. builders beware of a guy that is called jahan sheikh or sonu Saud.

For all those that look at my clients and my website they will see amazing work and design done by the company and real people actually reviewing tree company. It's a shame that people like this can try and write what they want to discredit the company and even a bigger shame that companies like bark have allowed reviews to be put on the site without checking it out first. john makkar is truly an amazing gentleman who knows his products well and designs better than all the architects that came to do this job. my pictures are on his website. a kitchen and two bathrooms and a home that i now love and enjoy being in.

had bad experiences with different builders but truly there is no other builder i can recommend design wise and finishing like j and m home improvements. john was simply delightful to work with and i would not hesitate to work with him again. More...

I saw this company on Google and info their link they had rated people profile so i went through rated people for the quote. John came to give me a quote. He pays attention to detail and within 2 days he had more than 15 builders in my property doing bathroom and kitchen and finished it to a very high standard. I have now given him all the jobs internally in the house including another bathroom drive and extension which other builders made a mess of. I would recommend this john and his team eyes closed.I also wanted to add that I wished I had bought him to design and to bring me products himself. Just saved more than £3000 on the other bathroom products than what I spent on the bathroom he just installed from me and the quality of his products are much better. Seriously probably the best company I have had the pleasure to work with. simply the best builders in london i think. the key is john makkar himself. he is what makes this company. the time and effort he gives to his clients and the amount of input he has in designing everything was what made my project amazing. he made my architects really look like pen pushers. the thought in every detail gave me my dream home. The company is not the cheapest but when i saw the results they should be the most expensive but they are definitely not. The workmanship and design and the products that john bought for us and the huge discounts were amazing and the amount time bless him that he spent with us before starting the project was really appreciated. we went back and forth for 6 months. of course some prices changed due to the delay from our side but after many bad experiences with many other builders and companies, john and his team were a breath of fresh air. After thinking that i had given up on builders in general, John changed that for me and gave me confidence that there are still not just good builders in the uk but amazing ones. i will never use another builder again. john and his team have not only done my own home but all my rental properties and several family properties.John if you ever read this review, i would like to thank you for the time and effort you have put in to my home and it is always a pleasure working with you. see you in my next project.Ash More...

John Makkar of J and M home improvements built a double storey side extension and a single storey rear extension and loft conversion for us he also built a 12 x 8 metre bungalow gym home office for us. the double storey side was 11 x 4.5 and the loft dormer was 9 metres wide. he removed chimneys and walls and supported the entire house on acro props and installed the steels and windows and front door and lantern on our house. the build was over in 3 months of which we expected to do in a 5 month project. the roof timbers and the roof tiles were all don't in one day with skylight windows in. we couldn't believe it. However, that was not the best part of it. from the outset we had a design in our heads, but when john showed it to us in 3d and we visualised it, we hated the original design. we then put him to the test. we had paid a designer nearly £3000 to design things for us and she did the worst job ever. in 4 days john gave us a design where the light of day travels though out the house in a very clever way and he didn't even want to charge us for the design but we insisted on paying him a fee for his time and my husband sent him a payment added onto our first payment of £500 which was only a small percentage of what we paid our designer. he designed the kitchen and bathrooms and the room layouts with feature walls were out of this wold. he put speakers in the ceiling and did a service area for all the wires to be connected to. every morning and every time we are home, we are thank him silently. when i used to visit other people homes, we used to wish for our home to be half of what other had. today i go to anyone's house and now think that i truly have the best home in the world. when all my friends come over they look at the job and get jealous of what we have. we have passed over the details of john and his company and already two of my friends have started using him and he is doing Jobs for them. so far one month into the project of my friends, all i hear from them is praises that i had passed johns number to them.i could believe the price as well. he was the cheapest of all the quotes of companies we had but i have seen the other companies work and in no comparison are they even close to his work. he should be the most expensive in all honesty.we will continue to use this company (especially John) for as long as they are around, and if i were you i would do the same. you will find it is easy to work with him and you will find that his payments plans are easy and fair for all. snag list were done in no time and when the job was completed, my husband insisted on paying John £2k extra for his time and personal effort of which he wanted no money for. in all honesty i think anyone who wants to see good builders survive should support this company and give them as much work as possible.if Heineken were to make good builders they would make john makkar and his company J & M.
