My bathtub needed refinishing. There was a 3-4" crack near the drain area that accumulated some brownish substance beneath and was grossing out my uh. ..long term house guest. And i was getting tired of taking showers only because not knowing what was in that crack made the thought of taking a bath in there rather repugnant.After some extensive research, i requested quotes from a bunch of companies. I received a surprising wide range of quotes but chose Island Transformations after Tom assessed the scope because he demonstrated a good depth of knowledge. By that time, the crack had grown into something rather disgusting. Tom agreed to change the overflow drain cover as well, which dated back to the original construction and appeared quite corroded. Although the drain cover is normally left exposed, the existing one was so tarnished I requested it be painted over since removal required a special plumbing tool.Everything went smoothly on the scheduled day. They did a decent job of protecting the walls and floor of my miniature bathroom. The finish was barely completed before the neighborhood lost power. The next day, Tom returned to evaluate the work. The paint reacted badly to the remnants of the previous coating and required some adjustment. The final product looks satisfyingly presentable. I look forward to bath bombs again. More...

I was super impressed with every aspect of the job that Island Transformations did, from start to finish. I wanted to give my bathroom a whole new look. I thought I would have to retile it, which is very expensive. But Tom Zoeller recommended a different process that saved me lots of money. I was able to schedule service within a few days which really worked around my busy schedule. Quoted for a more expensive glazing service that I thought I needed, but technician stated that service wasn’t needed, and he could polish the tubs back to their original luster. Very satisfied with the company, especially when you have an honest pro out there looking out for your best interest, not just to make money. We wanted to have our shower refinshed as it was looking worn. I called several companies, and decided based on the professional conversation with co-owner Mike, that Island Transformation would do the job. They had one of the workers come in the day before to strip and prep the tub and walls. The following day Mike's partner and co-owner Tom arrived to spray the tub. It's a process, he and his assistant for the day dressed in what looked like a hasmat suit, resperator and all. At this point I decided to step out of the apartment as the smell gets strong. Now it all depends on the individual with regards to handling the smell. Some people might not object, it all depends. After spraying the tub the next step is letting it dry, followed by the third day of spraying the shower walls if you decide to do that. Some people decide they don't need that, but we went all out, and we're glad we did. Tom is very attentive to detail, he noticed a drip and reglazed the tub, insisting on perfection, who could argue with that? Now, it's best if you have a second bathroom, as you can't use the one being reglazed, they tape and cover everything.. it's also best if you can stay at a friends or in laws for the night, it does smell, once again we couldn't handle the smell but some people find it acceptable. The process takes time but the results are worth it. Our tub and shower walls came out beautifully. Island Transformations did an excellent job, I highly recommend them. I needed to reglaze a tub that looked horrible with rust, that was causing a crack. I contacted a few companies but Mike called me back right away and set up a time to look at the tub the next day. Tom, his partner, looked at the tub and gave me several options, including touching up versus refinishing from scratch, which obviously cost more. I didn't feel pressured to spend more money than necessary and he explained that the touch up over the old paint would look just as good. I liked that he was on hand to give me an estimate versus a general quote over the phone. JJ came by the following day to literally wrap up and tape up the bathroom to avoid the overspray and dust. I was very impressed because I had this done previously years ago with a different company and it was not as nearly thoroughly covered. They even made a mock curtain to the bathroom entry to keep the fumes contained. Very much appreciated. JJ did the basics and Mike came to patch up and spray the tub.Following day, JJ came by to take down all the covering and finish up the process. The tub looked beautiful, however I did find a few small depressions on the paint and called Mike to get them looked at. Tom came by the following day to buff out the tub and touch it up to my satisfaction. Mike and Tom are professionals and they are good at what they do. I was told that there is a warranty and hopefully I won't need to utilize this option but if I do, I think they would make it right and make me happy. Mike, Tom & team did an amazing transformation on 5 horrible, ugly, dingy, stained, old showers into shining white, clean, inviting stalls. The original stalls were over 20 yrs old & tile colors ranged from black, pink, maroon & baby blue. They also buffed up one tub & a tiled surround that was in good condition & bondo’d a hole in one soap dish so that we didn’t have to risk damaging the surrounding tiles if it were replaced. They worked with me on tinting the anti-skid shower floor coating so that there was a definition to see the shower floor when stepping down into the shower. The best thing I appreciated about this company was that they showed up as scheduled, completed job on time AND provided daily updates on their progress & an unforeseen delay. They are extremely attentive and responsive. For this project I received quotes from 4 companies. This company was not the lowest bid, I selected Island Transformation because they did not complain about the condition of the showers, did not require that we clean out the showers & he provided a timely emailed estimate. Didn't want to spend a ton of money on this rental repair. Found these guys on YELP! Tom was easy to work with and did a great job on my tub and walls. Brought back the sheen and slick, new finish to my 10 year old bathtub. Also had him refinish the sink. There's a process that makes the faux marble counter look and feel like granite. Great company! They do awesome work! So glad we chose Island Transformations to help us with our whole house tile cleaning, countertop flecking, and tubs. .. everything came out perfect and it was a great alternative to gutting everything and remodeling the rooms individually... huge savings. First off the customer service provided by Island Transformations was excellent! Mike never took more than a couple minutes to respond to my messages. He was even able to save me money by suggesting a cheaper way of getting the same result. Not all companies would do that. As for the finished product, not only did my tub/shower look completely brand new, he was able to clean the grout on my bathroom tiles which gave the entire bathroom a facelift. I was pleasantly surprised after seeing the results of the services rendered by Island Transformations. Tom was professional, efficient and timely in his services which to me says A LOT about a company, especially in Hawaii.
