How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
Many detached single storey garages are of insubstantial construction and it is easier and cheaper to knock them down and start again. This sometimes solves a lot of design problems. Alternatively if you have an integral garage (i.e. built into the house) usually there isn't a problem. You can check with the planners that the loss of a parking space will not prejudice a planning consent.

How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
Check head height constraints allowing 450mm floor depth for strengthening the new floor. Also that there is space for a new staircase. Then contact me.

What do you love most about your job?
Communicating with clients, builders and specialists about what's important.
Bringing a team together and being at the source of a transformed space.
Working with traditional materials of great quality.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My clients - I got that the human dialogue I had with them was the route to creating good architecture.
Why should our clients choose you?
A project I designed and managed for converting outbuildings at Fulbourn Manor involved me in a complex negotiation with local authority officers on a pressurised timescale. After completion the South Cambridgeshire gave it their Conservation project of the year award.
(And obviously, intelligence, practical life experience, tenacity, eye for design, appreciation of the english countryside and its traditional architecture)
