Iain has done a great job for us on a project which had several unknowns. His flexible approach and willingness to suggest alternative ways of achieving our vision has resulted in a project which has exceeded our expectations. His broad range of skills (electrical, construction, plastering, plumbing) all came in to use. We will definitely ask for his help with future work. More...

How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
This really depends upon what the proposed use is.
Most garages are suitable for conversion and generally the project is simple and takes around 7 - 14 days to complete fully.
Depending on the use the cost ranges from £1,000 - £1,500 psm
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
The first step is to ensure that you do not need planning permission, notification of change of use or to change any details of your mortgage, as this may be required.
Then (in summary) the following steps need to be taken
> Strip out the garage interior and remove the door
> Construct the new brick work need to replace the door and install the window
> Creat a new entry to the garage and install a door liner and door
> level the flooring and install a new DPM
> Install a new flooring (solid or floating floor)
> Install insulation to the ceiling walls and flooring
> Install the new electric outlets, lights and any plumbing
> Fix the plasterboard lining to the ceiling and walls
