Our GSD has been coming here for day boarding since December and now comes regularly. All the staff are welcoming and extremely friendly and put our minds at rest, even allowing me to book my dog in to day boarding at last minute despite being very busy. Our dog greets the staff enthusiastically, so we know she looks forward to going there. Yvonne and Jane are always ready to give advice and help with any queries we may have (as this is our first dog). Richard has been fantastic with Blaze as they provide training too, and even went off the grounds to help us regain confidence in walking her due to pulling on the lead, which has helped enormously and can't thank him enough. We have recently been very lucky to find Hunters Lodge. We own a very large Newfoundland and needed to find a friendly but professional kennels to have Hugo for Day Care. Our husky came back from his 3 day stay at Hunters Lodge with bright happy eyes and an cheerful overall appearance. We're happy with how he seems to have enjoyed his stay. They picked up and dropped off the dog too and the overall service was professional and polite. Our German Shepherd is not good with strangers and having been refused by other kennels Richard and his team took a chance with us, and they have more than delivered. Their persistence with him has yielded fantastic results, and our dog has gone from us needing to take him to the kennels from our car, to the wonderful staff at the kennel being able to handle him themselves. We very rarely kennel our dogs, but when we do, we use Hunters Lodge. Richard and the staff are absolutely lovely. They really look after our dogs. We want our dogs to be in a home from home environment and we feel so reassured when they lodge here. The staff care for our animals and cater for their needs on an individual basis. I had tried so many kennels at the start with our dog and I have to say we have found THE ONE! He absolutely loves it here xxxx. We have a big black German Shepherd that is not only very anxious but also a bit mischievous-needless to say it is very hard to find people who know how to deal with anxious dogs, especially big ones such as ours. I was pleasantly surprised to see all members of staff were well trained and knew exactly how to handle the dog. She was there for two weeks and for the first time ever we picked up a happy, healthy, energetic dog-a clear sign she was well looked after! Could not recommend them highly enough!! Richard and the team are brilliant. They helped us out of a tight jam after Charlesberry kennels let us down last minute and we could not be happier with how they looked after our dog. They handled our anxious German Shepherd with ease which shows they know what they are doing and our dog came back to us happy, healthy and much better around other dogs. We discovered Hunters Lodge a couple of months ago. We were looking for a place for my 2 dogs (who are both rescues and can find new environments difficult sometimes) whilst having a substantial extension built. Richard and his team have been amazing. Richard has been so flexible allowing us to change days etc as our building work evolved. Our dogs settled in immediately and have stayed there every day for a number of weeks.They are happy and content every day and are very excited to greet the girls when we drop them off in the morning. The kennels themselves are beautiful, and well kept. Our dogs have so much space to exercise and socialise its brilliant. We absolutely love hunters lodge for always taking such great care of our fur babies!

I was so apprehensive the first time I left them here as they had never stayed in a kennels before.

The team were so reassuring and even let me walk them down to their room for their stay.

They allowed me to bring toys and blankets... which I know were used due to the blankets being damp from where the dogs had knocked over their water bowls etc.

Richard and his team patiently answered my countless stupid calls and worried messages assuring me that they were okay and having lots of fun ruling the roost & advised me to enjoy my holiday and stop worrying. They also informed me when I came to collect them that they are like bonnie and clyde together trying to pickpocket the carers whilst being distracted, which shows me that they actually got to know their characters by spending time with them!

If I ever have any queries etc I ask them and they will always provide me with answers immediately. The staff are always friendly and informative and happy to help in any way possible, even when they are busy!

Our dogs are always so tired when they get home and aren’t reluctant to go running off to their rooms when we leave them either which shows me that they enjoy their stays and are getting plenty of exercise and attention etc.

We have now used Hunters lodge on around 30+ occasions from 1 day to 10 days at a time and I cannot fault them on a single thing. I would never dream of booking our two in anywhere else!

If you are like myself and need a bit of assurance in boarding your dogs then I strongly advise using hunters lodge...

Although please note that due to Hunters lodge being so popular you should try to book well in advance at peak times such as half terms and summer etc as they are very busy with repeat happy custom like ours which speaks volumes!! X More...

Our Labrador has been at Hunters Lodge now for 3 months. We have used the kennels for holidays in the past and always been very happy with the service. Because of damage to our house we needed a long term home for Millie. The staff have been amazing with her. She is being looked after so well. Hunters Lodge is by far the best kennels and cattery I have ever come across. The accommodation and care standards are truly exceptional. The team are so friendly and incredibly helpful, and most importantly they are very professional and genuinely care about the animals who stay with them. I regularly take my girls there, and it gives me great piece of mind knowing that they are so well looked after, and that they have a great time with the carers and the other dogs. My dog Jesse stayed for a couple of weeks last summer and I couldn’t recommend the service we got. Jesse suffers very badly with anxiety and has had bad previous kennel experiences that took months to put right. So naturally I was very worried about having to put him in kennels again but he came home bright eyed and bushy tailed and very cleared enjoyed his time there. After a bit of a disaster at my property,I had no option but to put my 2 dogs JD &Pancho in kennels.They have never been in kennels before,I've never had a holiday because I could'nt bear to leave them.
I was so upset as I was told it would be around 4 weeks.I spoke to Richard who was really caring and understanding .I knew they would be in good hands.
Its been 7 weeks so far and and I have now been informed Its not likely i'll be home for another 8 weeks.I was so upset.Richard sugested I visit them.I've just had my first visit any was delighted to see that they are having a great time.
I'm so glad I made the right choice.

We wont use anywhere else, the team at hunters lodge are simply fantastic, So accommodating of our dogs specific needs. We can rest easy that our spaniel is being taken care of in a beautiful setting and getting all the exercise he needs.

It's a real home from home for Jasper and whenever we are on holiday its lovely to know he is having a great time at Hunters lodge rather than being cooped up for days on end which has been our experience of other boarding kennels.

Walks in the woods and the surrounding pastureland and the Kennels are spacious and immaculately maintained, its perfect for short or long stays.

Dexter our 1 year old Dalmatian spent his first weekend in kennels I was very nervous about leaving him but the staff were very friendly and reassuring. Dexter went into kennels quite happily and came out just as happy. It was lovely to hear that Dexter was able to run freely and play with other dogs during his stay. I can not praise this place highly enough. Its a very impressive, well kept establishment, but the friendliness and compassion of the staff is what really makes it what it is. If you need a kennels, use these guys - even if it's a bit further to drive, it's so worth it. My dog stayed here last week. His second visit, but the first time on his own following the passing of my other dog. He isn't keen on other dogs (following a loose dog attack) and I was really worried he'd be stressed by being in such close proximity to so many dogs and being in the kennel on his own but he seems to have loved it! I turned up unannounced and early to pick him up, which wasn't a problem for these guys at all, and within a few minutes Zeus came trotting round all relaxed and smiley (he's a Staff). Not only did he look great but he smelt fab too. Not sure what these guys do with the dogs whilst they've got them, but based on how relaxed and refreshed he seemed I suspect it's a bit like a doggy spa behind behind the scenes!! I actually don’t know what I would do without Richard and the amazing staff at Hunters Lodge. I have the most challenging Chihuahua who also has a heart condition and requires four types of medication twice daily. I can trust that if I ever have to leave my diva dog baby, he will receive the best care and love from Richard and the team. He also regularly goes to Hunters Lodge for their superb grooming service. very friendly knowledgeable staff. we were going away for a 2 week holiday and needed boarding facilities for our 3 dogs, 2 alaskan malamutes and a west highland terrier. we viewed the premisis and met the owner. he showed us around the property and once we described our requirements he suggested an area that would best suit our dogs. prices were very reasonable. we dropped the dogs off and the female staff members took over from there. upon return the owner Richard offered to help us transport them to our home address. the dogs were very healthy looking, well groomed and happy. would highly recommend. Thank you for the very fine job you guys did, we are very greatful.

I cannot give Richard and his fabulous team praise enough. They have been looking after our lab Nala since she was 6 months old. Nala receives the utmost love and care whilst staying at Hunters Lodge. I never worry about leaving her and she always comes home smelling gorgeous and with a happy, waggy tail!!

Our two cavalier King Charles spaniels have been going to Hunters Lodge for their holidays when we go on ours for about 6 years now. Hunters Lodge was recommended to us by a friend, and we are so pleased they did! The staff are friendly, and wonderful with our boys! When we drop them off the boys never look back at us which is lovely to see they are so happy and comfortable there. :) This week they had their first groom there (used to use Pets at home groom room but the last time they got clipped there I had to take one of my dogs to the vet a few weeks later as they forgot to cut one of his claws and it was growing into his foot). I've not needed to use kennels before, but wanted to start our puppy off as we meant to continue. I was concerned that at 5 months old, Walt would be anxious and not settle.
