We have used House Utopia a fair few times during our self build project. Very willing to source quality trades, they sent in 3 contractors to quote for our Solar panels, 2 contractors for the scaffolding, both so good we couldn’t decide ! And some fab decorators. All in all a friendly & proficient service and thoroughly recommendable, four stars as they sent us some junk by email for a few months after, but that wouldn’t deter us from using the service again. I did spend time trying to source prices for loft insulation, but it became a real pain, and time consuming. Not much to complain about with a free service. The quotes from contractors were much cheaper than those sourced locally. No real difference in quality noted, so even with the percentage, the contractor must add to cover House Utopia’s finder’s fee and it doesn’t appear to cost the end user.
