What’s your interior design process?
The first step is a complimentary initial consultation in which I can take time to meet with the client to understand their design goals. We will discuss budget and how I can fulfill those goals. This also allows the client to become comfortable with me and know that they can trust me with their most prized investment!
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
I can work with any style but I’d say my personal aesthetic leans towards eclectic. Overall I want to ensure all designs look developed over time - even if I finish in a month or two! This allows every client’s end design to be 100% unique.
What do you love most about your job?
Mostly meeting and working with great clients! I am flexible with the amount of involvement a client wants to be in their project. Many enjoy the shopping process with me but some are completely hands-off and trust me to make their wishes come to life. I’m happy to include custom designed furniture, high end finishes and “to the trade only” items but also enjoy searching through antique stores, estate sales and websites like 1st Dibs and Chairish to find truly unique things!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I’ve worked for other designers and done contract jobs but I’ve found that my clients prefer the transparency I offer in my fees and how I do business overall. I believe in the age of the internet pricing of furniture and finishes most people have a much better idea of what things really cost. You’re hiring me to bring you the highest quality at the lowest cost and making it all work together. That’s why you will only pay me for my expertise and experience - then if I can offer you designer cost on the items you purchase I am happy to do so!
Why should our clients choose you?
I will always be honest and up front with you, especially if you’ve never worked with a designer before. Many of my clients are first timers so I’m sure to educate them through the process while ensuring their dream design. I also have a concentration of repeat clientele which speaks to their trust in me as well as knowing they’re getting good value for the money. If it’s two or more people that have opinions about your project I work very hard to make sure that all involved are as happy as possible!
