After trying 3 other agencies i had about given up and thought i would just need to provide care for my mom on my own. About a year and a half ago i came across Home Care Assistance website for some very useful and needed tools and saw they also offered services. So we set up an interview with Manpreet and saw how thorough he was in getting the important information from us as to my mom's needs as well as being very forthcoming and able to answer all our questions. Since hiring them we've found the real difference here is they are committed to finding the right fit for both caregivers and clients. Their prices are reasonable and the office staff is excellent. We needed care for a close family member and were immediately drawn to Home Care Assistance of Ft. Lauderdale. The owner Manpreet responded immediately to our inquiry and was hands-on, professional and kind throughout the entire process; he helped us understand the industry and the options available to us and was not pushy or aggressive in any way, which was nice. Home Care Assistance has exceeded expectations for my family. For almost a year, my family went back and forth on the decision to get an aide for my mom. We never felt pressured to move faster with the process than we were comfortable, but the agency gave us all the information we asked for. Once we finally got the ball rolling, I always felt like me (who lives out of state) and my parents were kept in the loop really well. Home Care Assistance was a lifesaver for my family. The owner, Manpreet, is very involved and wonderful to work with. He supported us as we went back and forth on the decision to bring in outside help to care for my mom, who has Parkinson's and dementia. We started with one aide to stay with my mom just a few hours a week to give my dad a break. That turned into almost 24 hour care when my dad--who was very reluctant at first--quickly became comfortable with the aides. We faced only a few hiccups with an experience that we fully expected to be awful, and Manpreet worked with us diligently to alleviate any concerns. My mom is in a memory care facility now, but Home Care Assistance helped us keep her home for as long as we possibly could. More...

My parents had been living independently their whole lives, most recently in Ft Lauderdale, FL, and retained all their mental faculties. My mom at age 92 was diagnosed with cancer and entered hospice care at home. Hospice provided only an hour a day of health aide assistance, for bathing. In February 2017, I visited from NYC and was upset by how haggard my 89 year old dad looked, exhausted by taking care of my mother full-time. A friend who handles elder care in NJ suggested I call Manpreet Dahalla, owner of Home Care Assistance of Ft. Lauderdale. He was wonderful, warm and responsive. He personally met with us in my parents' home, to assess our needs. The very next day he selected appropriate aides and he accompanied them to our home to help them get oriented to my parents, their home and their needs. Every aide was kind, well-trained and eager to work. They were extraordinarily patient, and carefully helped my mother dress and move around, from bed to wheelchair to bathroom. Mr. Dahalla called me every few days to make sure things were going well. (My parents, who were both alert, would have informed me of anything that displeased them; they were very satisfied.) After several weeks, my mother suffered a severe health crisis while I was present. I called Mr. Dahalla immediately to request 24 hour care (in addition to whatever care Hospice would provide) and within two hours, he had arranged round-the-clock care for my mother. She died the next day, and I observed that the aides provided by Home Care Assistance ably assisted the Hospice RN during my mother's last hours. Truly, I would not have been able to return to NYC without the outstanding help provided by Mr. Dahalla and his staff. I would recommend his services to anyone looking to help elderly or disabled friends or relatives. I would unhesitatingly do so again, should the need arise. More...
